Nice looking nails. That sure is a hard rock you're using for an anvil !! Have you thought about making a bellows for your forge? I wonder what a Viking bellows would look like?
Yes, the rock is hard enough. But as you can see it is quite worn down. It is hard but when I forged the axes and especially when welding they scaled off quite quickly. I have considered to make a bellow... But since I hesitate to bring any more materials in I do not have leather... and my focus is on hand tools rather than equipment in general. But perhaps one day there will be a sort of box bellow made of wood and birch bark. We will see.
Very inspiring. Just goes to show what can be done with ingenuity and grit! Well done 👍🏻
@@ashleysaunders2265 thank you
I just discovered your videos.
This is what people should watch when talking about prepping or living “off grid”.
Thanks and keep them coming!!!
Welcome here, Yes I have material for three more videos. Just need to find the time to edit.
2й раз за 10 лет наткнулся на ютубе на камень вместо наковальни. Отличная проходная кузница, вполне аутентично. Спасибо за видео.
Thank you, I hopenyou will have use of it

Great video - what kind of size stock are you using roughly for the nail header? I need to buy some mild steel to make one.
It is roughly 20 by 30 mm stock in c 45 steel.
