I live the way it looks. I lone that batik fabric is perfect. The grey just grounds it out.

Your quilt is beautiful. Pretty bold of you to do this all 'live' in front of the camera without any rehearsal! When you make that extra row for the bottom of the quilt, I think you should make some extra jelly roll triangles and cut them in half to put on the ends of the rows with only 4 triangles. I don't like the large area of gray at the ends of those rows. Nice job. Thanks for keeping it real and showing us that no one is perfect.

That is a beautiful quilt. I think I need more practice on more simple ones before I try for this one. I love it.I think I am way behind the times. Most of the comments were made 7 months ago. I think I found your channel a while back, but haven't been able to get back to watching. I'm for sure too late for your retreat. Sounds so fun. I Have never been to a quilt retreat. I am only starting out my quilting life. I actually have only made a few I-spy quilts for my great grandchildren, and a t-shirt quilt for my adult son. Another t-shirt quilt to finish for my granddaughter. I think I spend too much time doing other things, and don't make enough time for the quilting. Thanks for the entertainment that you give me. Love your style.

Thank you for posting how to work through things. I lost my sewjo for about 6 weeks. I have a special quilt top completed just waiting to create a fun backing for it. You have reminded me that perfection is an illusion. This quilt is for my Godmother who taught me how to sew as a little girl. It is taking way too long to complete. I’m giving myself grace and moving forward. Thank you for the nudge I needed.

Great camera video on easing in fabric and matching points on triangles. I like seeing you unstitch and resew an intersection if it isn't quite right. Not all seams need it but I agree that the seam was too far off to continue. Take the time to do it right. Even professionals need to unsew.

Thank you😊 I can’t stand to look at an matching seam when I know I can do it better. A couple of f years back I changed my attitude about resewing, I just do it and am much happier with the finished quilt now. TFW😊❤️🐥

Another thing you can use for accuracy, is a command strip! It forms a lip so the fabric doesn’t slide around. I have a Brother, which is primarily plastic. I peeled the backing off only over the bobbin cover, so if I have to change bobbins, it’s not a problem! Works great!

I appreciate you showing us how to fabricate this pattern, even the mistakes! You can also use a glue stick to match the 2 points. You matched the points well. When I see the finished quilt, I notice that the 4 separate triangles that are sewn together to make 1 block seem like the insides all blend together! It seems like some contrast is needed in them. If I were doing this pattern, I think I would take the center triangle in each block, and make it a solid color. Just pick a solid and the other 3 triangles would stand out. What do you think of that idea(LIKE A red triangle, or a black, or fuschia)?

Love the quilt ♥️👏🏻👏🏻 Beautifully done Di. I love how bright and the triangles are spot on. As always thank you for sharing. Wish I could make the retreat but having major surgery April 17th to remove a tumor and maybe it will be a whipple which is tough surgery. But I will be thinking about you and I know you will have fun! 🎉 Looking forward to seeing what all you get done. Blessing my friend.

Where I understand how easy the fancy rulers make your work so much easier but I would love to see how you would do this without all that! I am a new quilter and do not have all of that.

I would use the diagonal lines on a 4" to 6" X 24" ruler. and line up with the cutting mat lines. That served me well for many years!!! Welcome aboard the Quilting Train, it's a fun one ot be on.

If you stagger your 2.5 inch straps when sewing them together, you get an additional triangle out of the strip set.
