Jaime, man that anxiety has got a hold on you. Countless tests and they’ve found nothing. You need to take a break from poker while you deal with this. PLEASE READ THIS!!! It so for your own health buddy.
Dan B cheers man taking time to chill for sure. The anxiety actually doesn’t stem from poker for me though. It’s health based. So when I had the allergic reaction two days ago it kicked up a lot of anxiety and spurred the attack. I wasn’t worried about the tourney. I was worried about the physical feelings inside me and being stuck far away from help. I will indeed take time to rest, relax, keep taking care of myself, and continue councilling to work through being mentally healthier. One step at a time man 👌
@@jaimestaples9658 Jaime buddy. You're good man. Don't worry about it. The best thing you can learn about anxiety is how to forget about the medical diagnosis bs. Anxiety and depression are your bodies way of telling you something's wrong, it's not that you're missing something or anything like that. The best way you can deal with it is by approaching it like a human problem. Get sunlight, keep up with your diet, make sure your doing things that 14 year old you would want to do. At the end of the day don't stress it. And if you need to take time off of poker to help then do it, we'll all still be here.
Jaime Staples very true words you spoke here. Sometimes playing poker can actually help - as it has with me before. But it also can add additional stress. You just have to find the right combo. Have they came up with any reasoning behind why you’re having these problems? I only say that if not, it could be your mind playing tricks on you. I know I used to be in great shape yet feel like my heart was jumping out of my chest and that I couldn’t breathe, but it was all in my head. It’s tough to determine though and wish you good luck!
Jaime! Glad to see you playing in such a historic tournament. Good run, and very fun to watch. I hear you describe symptoms and it reminds me of my wife. I understand anxiety is extremely difficult to describe, empathize with, and share with others because “others” will never feel what your feeling. I could never believe the “pains” and “aches” and “shortness of breath” she was going through, but I forced myself to just trust her and listen. I also Googled the shit out of anxiety and read many people’s stories and experiences. I want to tell everyone that is telling you what you need to do (e.g. don’t worry about it, take a break, listen to your body) to just chill and support you with their words, rather than barking out orders. As you say, it’s a process, and mental health is a difficult one. Keep up the good work. Good luck on the felt!
Anxiety is a bigger issue than most think. Everyone has some form of anxiety, some worse than others. Getting endorphins flowing via exercise can help a lot but with some people not a permanent fix especially when put in certain positions mentally.
I suffered from anxiety attacks for a year or more and i absolutey know how scary this stuff can be, especially if you don't know what it is. First times i had panic attacks i thought it were heart attacks or other diseases. The worst of all is the fear of the fear which causes yourself making yourself anxious in certain situations. I got anxiety in the classic settings where i felt a loss of control, for example in trains, cars or at the dentist. I struggled hard to deal with it. Therapy helped me but the key to made it disappear was to fully accept it, not only in the moment of sudden anxiety but in general. That condition is part of your soul for some reason and mostly shows you are vulnerable at the moment. But its totally ok to be vulnerable at times. Accept the fact its a part of yours and it'll become not scary anymore and don't try to suppress it. Let it happen and always keep in mind, that it won't kill you at all. The fear is 'just' in your head. Also the other day i had a panic attack and i tried the classical breathing method (slowly and fully breathing in and out) and this actually did wonders for me. So when im at the dentist and stuff and feel a little anxiety coming up nowadays i just breathe like that and slowly but surely it'll disappear. Exercise and meditation can help a lot as well. Since i've learned all that things about the disorder and about myself anxiety is not a problem at all anymore :) Look up on CBD if feel like you need medical support. I can't recommend any other meds cause there mostly is a big risk of addiction and they suppress the symptoms for short term but don't deal with the origin of the anxiety which often makes it even worse. Wish you the Best Jaime and thank you for sharing your experience ! Also don't feed the sociopathic trolls in the comment section, cause they are only there cause you expose yourself in a situation of vulnerability. Jaime you are going through what I went through in my mid twenties, your dealing with health anxiety. Your putting a lot of pressure on yourself with the poker stuff and maybe other things, but you got this 100%. The symptoms can be scary no doubt. Especially if your fight or flight response is kicking in when your just playing poker at a table, the physical symptoms are crazy... but the great news is, anxiety will not kill you , it just seems that you are but your not, you will beat this.

Hey man. Love your vids and mostly like the fact that you seem like a nice guy. As someone that dealt with a lot of anxiety over the years let me tell you something that 100% worked for me. When covid started and things began shutting down, I decided to start trying to lose weight.....again. I’d tried a bunch of times and it never worked. This time I decided to try a low carb lifestyle and I went from 280lbs to 215 in about 4 months. I’ve been maintaining that weight since. An added side effect to the weight loss is my anxiety has completely disappeared. It’s the kind of diet that allows you to eat more than most and also doesn’t require exercise to work. It’s helped my weight, cholesterol, blood pressure, and mental health. Hope you don’t find this offensive, a stranger coming at you with health suggestions, but I relate to those attacks making you want to call an ambulance and in hindsight i feel like my overall health had a lot to do with it.

Jaime Staples, I know you probably have all the help you need around you but I know and understand exactly what you are going through. I had my first panic attack at age 20. It was a turning point in my life that I will never forget. Panic attacks are very frightening and no one can ever imagine what it feels like unless you have had one yourself. I’ve dealt with anxiety disorder for 8 years now. Seeing you deal with this brings back memories because I did the same... countless of trips to the doctor only to find everything was fine. Please contact me if you need to talk or have any questions. Please check out DARE by Barry McDonagh. It’s a book about beating anxiety by a guy who has been through it himself. It is life changing for those with struggling with anxiety.
GG, pretty incredible run after day 1! I’m still inspired by your ultimate sweat challenge, hate to see the recent health scares but always appreciate your honesty and I feel that talking openly through the vlogs and to friends and family will help massively, Thank you for the inspiration and entertainment! I’m rooting for you man, despite being a Leeds fan!
You have so much talent, you are so positive and you bring so much to so many people for just being you and doing what you love. You live a blessed life and I appreciate everything that you share. I was so hyped that you were playing and a little disappointed that we didn't get to see you play. I wanted to say that big things are ahead for you but then I thought of a better way to put it. Good things will continue to find you. Please continue to take care of yourself and keep bringing good things to the world. Lemon Lion!
I hate anxiety. I hate when I get dizzy, my hand and feet start tingling, my thoughts start racing. I worry about stuff and can't snap out of it. It's miserable. I hope you can conquer your demons.
Really good piece. We need to talk about "panic attacks" Knowledge helps (This what I have learned). 1. Time heals 2. The reason behind it often unclear. (You are not a weak person if you get it) You are just one who happen to get it. (The people who gets it are often overachiever). 3. If you have somebody you really trust they can often talk you down from the attack. (You are in panic and looking for safety) How does it feel?! (According to close friends and family). You think you are going to die (every time) and small things can set it of. The problem are often connected to swallowing or breathing-problems. (One of over must primal fears.) I doesn´t matter that you know it´s an overreaction from your mind. Your dying, period. (You are not but you think you are) When you are in a bad period it seams like you going to have it for the rest of your life. (Sometimes you even want to die because you problem never goes away.) Trust me - It does! Read number one! Time heals!
I have a horrible panic disorder and I get really dizzy and I'm constantly worried about my well being/think I am unsafe. It's very awful and can control you if you don't do your best to combat it. Stay strong.
Was consistently checking the chip counts for some Staples updates. Was hoping you'd make a deep run here, but nothing you can do about that busto hand. Giving you good energy for the next one bro, you got it.
Jamie I might very well freak out on day 1 of a 25k buy in. The great thing, is that you bounced back strong, and played a great game and got it in good in the end! You should be proud!
Are you sure it was an allergic reaction in the first place? Maybe it was the hot spices that made u think u had a reaction and triggered your anxiety and symptoms?
Dont let anxiety stop you doing things you love ! I have terrible anxiety . If i need to stop doing something i do until it passes but i cant give into it . I keep doing what i need to do and eventually my anxiety gets less . But when i do something new it kicks in again . Its almost like im training my anxiety to get use to things if that makes sense !
Get back on the weight loss Jaime. Thatll cure any form of mental problems. I'm the same but from being too skinny, I workout and see results, then my anxiety literally disappears. Until I stop training then it's all back again. The way to do it is never stop.
Jaime dont listen to these trolls, anxiety is more common than you think, the fact you dealt with it and continued the tournament and gave yourself a chance shows a ton of heart and most of these clowns talking trash in the youtube section wouldnt have a clue how brave you are for getting through it, all the best Jaime and just remember you got through it andyou can get through it again, gl
Classic anxiety, I've been there. You need to see a psychiatrist and a psychologist ASAP, I got rid of my anxiety with antidepressants+therapy, for high stress situations like this I had xanax to keep me calm. I remember when my psychologist asked me if I think that you can faint from a panic attack - I was %100 sure you could as that's how I felt during attacks. She said that no, it is highly unlikely as during an anxiety attack your blood pressure goes up, not down. She helped me gain control of my thoughts and got me through one of the hardest periods in my life.
I feel what you are going through man, I ended up going nearly caffeine free for the past 18 years. A lot of people don't get it and react like you are weak or defective. It just takes time and a little adjustment to your life to get feeling better. Also you should get checked for acid reflux as that could be contributing. Some people don't feel acid reflux as just heartburn, it can be silent and present with upper chest pain or throat problems like you are having. Anxiety and stomach problems often go hand in hand.
Hey Jamie, I got to give you credit for putting out the real stuff. Some vloggers really try to gloss over the bad days and all of us who have done the grind know there are plenty of bad days. There is no substitute for authenticity man. I have had some health issues in the past and I can’t imagine how much the pressure of not pulling out of such a high buy in tournament must of added to how sick you felt. Here’s to good 2019 for us both.
in the last couple months i really enjoyed your vlogs. before i never really had attention to your vlogs. i watched mostly your streams but i have to say i really like that you show us your pokerlife. and especially the downs, and not only the upps. i was going through the same.
Jamie. Similar to a problem I have suffered with for years. Try this book, 'self help for your nerves' by Claire Weeks....It will give you a really good insight as to why you feel the way you do. Good luck
Been dealing with anxiety for 8 years. It's tough to play live. When your shoving a big bluff. That's why I talk at the table. Helps ease that. Oh and don't forget the pill. Always helps !
Bro say no to benzos. It will not help in long run. Have seen alot of people get trouble with those pills. And they were normal people. Used to be. Gl on life bro!
Dude your peaking anxiety comes down to one of two factors: 1) you moved too fast with the proposal to Rebecca, are now having doubts, whether conscious or subconscious, and its manifesting as anxiety 2) your weight re-gain is making you feel helpless, and manifesting as anxiety You should look into cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
matthew gladman man you are 0 for 2 on this. Like I get why you might think that but I live 24 hours a day, you guys see an edited 12 minutes. You can’t diagnose me from these vlogs. Rebecca is the best thing that has happened to me and I have become a lot more accepting of my physical state and am working toward healthy goals.

The anxiety thing really kills me. 40% of people in America are on anxiety and depression meds. It’s called life guys. Reach down and grab your balls and realize that life is hard. I’ve done work in Sub-Sahara Africa and you know how many people are on anxiety meds there? Yeah, that’s right, none of them. They’re just worried about their next meal or next drink of water. This is what happens when you raise kids without a dose a reality.
Watch the Vlogs..and read the responses to some pretty weird comments. Its Good to see your positive/ progressive attitude! I used to have anxiety...panic attacks. Where its tightness of chest/feels like a heart attack. No quicker way to get seen at a hospital i tell u that! What really helped me dude was having a relationship with Jesus. Knowing that if its my last day on earth the rest of existence would be spent with the king of kings and my loved ones. That in itself fixed my anxiety. Havnt had it since. Know what ur going through. Been there myself. Stay fly bro. Love the vlogs.
Good to see Felix. He was a big part of me changing my lifestyle to a plant based one. This greatly shed some weight, increased energy and made me feel better overall. Consider looking into this. Follow him. Whoever got you eating high fat, low carb diet is doing nothing but increasing your stress levels as well as atherosclerosis within you artieries.
Wow, some of these comments are a bit toxic. I don't know you, and only occasionally watch your vids, but as someone who has more than their fair share of mental health troubles, I can recognise someone struggling real hard with mental health problems. And it seems like you're doing all the right things (getting therapy and trying to look after yourself, even if you don't always succeed... I know that one), and despite all my experience, I don't have any advice. Sometimes advice, even when well-intentioned, can be very unhelpful. Sometimes mental health is bad, and it really sucks, and I'm sorry about that. So all I can do is wish you all the best, and, although this may seem a bit weird, and no pressure, but if you ever wanted to have a cup of tea made for you by some random person you don't know, and don't need to see again, in London to just have an unjudgemental chat at, then I'd be up for it. I have found it helpful at times when people have done the same for me.
Benzos are horrible drugs. When you come down from them you will feel much worse. For that reason, they are addictive. What you have can be easily fixed just be improving your cardio fitness. Right now, you have a feedback loop where a little stress maxes out your weak cardio, then you feel the physical sensations of anxiety, and you get health anxiety. All you have to do to fix this is threshold aerobic training until your cardio fitness can handle poker stress. Keep in mind that the excitement of winning can be more stressful than the disappointment of losing. Both affect your heart rate and adrenaline.
Anxiety is brutal..I'll be standing there and all of a sudden cant breath etc feel like I'm having heart attack..brutal it's scary..feel bad for anyone that has one..but allergic reactions and anxiety are two worlds apart..u need to be on anxiety meds full time..there isnlots of people like urself me.included..as soon as mine start that's all I can think about period..feel like I cannot get air etc..need to take urself out to the woods in the country for month or two ..get healthy ..literally cut abunch trees down split wood etc..u have to much energy and usually the culprit of anxiety dude..trust me 15 years testing..I bet u go out cut few bush cords of wood u dont even think about anxiety as ur brain has calmed itself and purged all the pent up energy
Jaime you had your weight down to 180 something man. Wtf happened? God I knew that bet was a bad idea. You weren't doing it for YOU soley. You were doing it for the money. I get out and run almost everyday now, not because I am motivated by a big chunk of cash, because I am sick and tired of being 40 lbs over weight. That's how you should be. Your heart is not in it for the right reasons. One day you going to step away from all of this streaming b sht, focus on your health and REAL life, kids perhaps, and say... "well that was fun", but was it important? In the end, not really.
you shouldn't blame him.... i can guarantee you my whole life that the only reason he gained the weight back is because of his diet routine... I know tons about food and exercise and I am certain that based on how fast he dropped the weight and how much cardio he was doing he must have been eating insanely tiny amounts while destroying his metabolism... thats why you need to structure your routine around building muscle to increase metabolism and whilst thats happening carefully manage the calories to consistently drop in body fat... and I will be honest I know for a fact if I was able to train Jaime i could help him with his weight issues.. he has shown he can stay disciplined but when set up on a diet thats destined to fail based on rapid decreases in calories and not prioritizing lean muscle mass it becomes an issue. mentally when someone rebounds badly they just blame themselves and think its impossible to get in shape... I'm upset that the whole world has this warped view on what foods/diets are "good" and "bad" for you... hopefully one day I can reach out to more people and educate them on how to properly train and eat for maximum results. this message is meant to be a positive one, I mean no disrespect. I just wanted you to know all this, wish you all a good day :)
sounds like typical panic attack / panic disorder. you don't feel like theres anything physically or mentally wrong, but when you get to a place where there's no fast exit or you're not used to, you start to get all kinds of symptoms like headache, feeling of terror, accelerated heartrate, chest pain, sweating, dizziness, nausea etc. they way I cope with mine is that I picture me watching myself from a camera far up in the ceiling and realizing that everyone and everything is fine and just consentrating on my breathing. that usually helps.
We all go through periods of anxiety in our lives (i'm 36).. Trying to figure out what it is thats wrong. Trust me on one thing... It won't last forever!
Jaime its all in the mind buddy..i am 37 and from the last year i cant travel at highways at night..can you believe this??i cant breathe and get dizzy..what the ffffck is this??only at night and only at highways suddently.any way my brother is a doctor and told me its a 100% from stress and its all the think in my mind.by the way from now on i always travel with sunrise!!!!!😁😁😁

I’m still inspired by your ultimate sweat challenge, hate to see the recent health scares but always appreciate your honesty and I feel that talking openly through the vlogs and to friends and family will help massively,
Thank you for the inspiration and entertainment! I’m rooting for you man, despite being a Leeds fan!
Lewis Strangward hahaha but MOT! Thanks dude. It does help me
Hi Jaime just wondering were you freerolled into this tournament by PokerStars or did you buy in?
Steve Jarvis bought in my friend.
Jaime, I send you a big hug. This event had so many entrants there will be more. Let's not worry.
Javier GM yeah dude not sweating it. Poker is poker 😀
Hope your health improves buddy, Alberta sending you love.
Brendrum thanks man
You have so much talent, you are so positive and you bring so much to so many people for just being you and doing what you love.
I feel like Bruce Buffer just made 5k for 20 seconds of work.
he made a lot more than that...
Really good piece. We need to talk about "panic attacks" Knowledge helps (This what I have learned).
1. Time heals
2. The reason behind it often unclear. (You are not a weak person if you get it) You are just one who happen to get it. (The people who gets it are often overachiever).
3. If you have somebody you really trust they can often talk you down from the attack. (You are in panic and looking for safety)
How does it feel?! (According to close friends and family).
You think you are going to die (every time) and small things can set it of. The problem are often connected to swallowing or breathing-problems. (One of over must primal fears.) I doesn´t matter that you know it´s an overreaction from your mind. Your dying, period. (You are not but you think you are)
When you are in a bad period it seams like you going to have it for the rest of your life. (Sometimes you even want to die because you problem never goes away.) Trust me - It does! Read number one! Time heals!
3:10 THPS6 Confirmed!!
I have a horrible panic disorder and I get really dizzy and I'm constantly worried about my well being/think I am unsafe. It's very awful and can control you if you don't do your best to combat it. Stay strong.
LOL, I bet Jaime felt like he was online when he left and came back and was still ahead of the majority of people playing, legend.
Was consistently checking the chip counts for some Staples updates. Was hoping you'd make a deep run here, but nothing you can do about that busto hand. Giving you good energy for the next one bro, you got it.
Remember you aren't alone in your anxiety stay strong 💪
Jamie I might very well freak out on day 1 of a 25k buy in. The great thing, is that you bounced back strong, and played a great game and got it in good in the end! You should be proud!
Nice run Jaime, onwards and upwards! Look forward to the next vid. Take care man
Are you sure it was an allergic reaction in the first place? Maybe it was the hot spices that made u think u had a reaction and triggered your anxiety and symptoms?
Dont let anxiety stop you doing things you love ! I have terrible anxiety . If i need to stop doing something i do until it passes but i cant give into it . I keep doing what i need to do and eventually my anxiety gets less . But when i do something new it kicks in again . Its almost like im training my anxiety to get use to things if that makes sense !
The champ sitting behind jamie at 8:00
You still came back to the tournament fighting even after all that! You should be proud of that.
J Peacock I am to be honest dude. That was really hard but we battled and I’m happy with that
Get back on the weight loss Jaime.
She helped me gain control of my thoughts and got me through one of the hardest periods in my life.
psiiilo lmao try CBD dude Jesus anti depressants Xanax lmfao I’d rather have the anxiety then alll that Jewish bullshit
@@InnocentFormalities CBD doesn't do shit lmao. Look up Phenibut
Hey jaime, watched the pspc great tourny! Would have love to see you cash! Next time better luck. Are you going to play the pca main???
Are we going to pretend we didn't see that girl check out the camera guy at 1:13? Lol
Jamie. Similar to a problem I have suffered with for years. Try this book, 'self help for your nerves' by Claire Weeks....It will give you a really good insight as to why you feel the way you do. Good luck
Love You man, take care of You and thank You so much for taking me on the poker jorney to Bahamas!
Good things come to those with patience and integrity. You got both, so hang in there man and one day the dream will take you to a big trophy.
Was super sad to see you bust, but I think it was a great tournament overall for experience!
Eric Abneri it was An amazing event. I hope it happens again!
Been dealing with anxiety for 8 years. It's tough to play live. When your shoving a big bluff. That's why I talk at the table. Helps ease that.
Oh and don't forget the pill. Always helps !
read some of the comments.. left me baffled. No one giving credit to Brandon for absolutely crushing these vlogs?
Big love from Denmark Jamie! Keep fighting. What an absolute unfortunate situation - first with travel then alergic reaction. Feel for you man ❤️
Unlucky mate! Bad on the horse and on to the next one! Chin up my man.
We love you mate. Take a break and get healty. Remember you first
You are a good dude Jaimie, thank you for your content.. take care of yourself my friend.
Jaime watched Jeff Gross too much, he really did call a doctor
Did you had an ansurance? How much its for this there?
4:12 is that tony hawk???
Was rooting for you man. But remember, there's always another tournament. Was a great run.
Exercise is great for anxiety man, get back on it! You have all the support in the world man.
Your attitude will ensure greener days ahead!
Bro say no to benzos. It will not help in long run. Have seen alot of people get trouble with those pills. And they were normal people. Used to be. Gl on life bro!
Get well soon bud there is always the next one
Manuel Tavares thanks dude
1 second of dissiness and inmediatley go to the enmergency room. hahahah.
This reminds me of when when I as a microstakes player qualified and busted the $10M Gtd sunday million.
Dude your peaking anxiety comes down to one of two factors:
1) you moved too fast with the proposal to Rebecca, are now having doubts, whether conscious or subconscious, and its manifesting as anxiety
2) your weight re-gain is making you feel helpless, and manifesting as anxiety
You should look into cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
matthew gladman man you are 0 for 2 on this. Like I get why you might think that but I live 24 hours a day, you guys see an edited 12 minutes. You can’t diagnose me from these vlogs.
Rebecca is the best thing that has happened to me and I have become a lot more accepting of my physical state and am working toward healthy goals.
@@jaimestaples9658 glad to hear it man, was just some thoughts.. love the vlogs brother
Jaime Staples keep it up dude. Been rolling for years. Rebecca is beautiful and amazing. 10/10. Best of luck in the next tournament.
@@jaimestaples9658 Sir you simply replying to these comments is not good for your health! lol.. side note good run after all that Bullshit keep crushing life Sir dont reply to the trolls
your comment is way OOL. So obnoxious.
what a sick feeling. blinding off in the biggest tournament of your life :(
1:45 did he just say he's sixty fucking five? Dayum guy looks young for his age.
Jaime next time it will be good, keep on working hard and one day, one tournament will be yours😎 keep it up man it will be good👍🏼 never give up💪🏽
MMA and Poker is two great arts, but don't combine them like the announcer did at around 3:24
Strong Video!!! Thanks!
Hope you feel better soon. Honestly don't over do it. Take some time out I suggest, like Lex did. GG tough mate.
This is what happens when you raise kids without a dose a reality.
wowww the dream! Awesome video and damn this trophy is just massive haha!
You dont have to go on a plant diet to lose weight.
Why not carbo?
You won alone for carrying on in such short time!
Why is your description in first, and third person. Lol
But how much has these health checks cost you at the Bahamas?
I just wanted you to know all this, wish you all a good day :)
i always get anxiety attacks in the casino
i usually turn on calm jass music and wait my Aces, fck it
sounds like typical panic attack / panic disorder.
you don't feel like theres anything physically or mentally wrong, but when you get to a place where there's no fast exit or you're not used to, you start to get all kinds of symptoms like headache, feeling of terror, accelerated heartrate, chest pain, sweating, dizziness, nausea etc.
they way I cope with mine is that I picture me watching myself from a camera far up in the ceiling and realizing that everyone and everything is fine and just consentrating on my breathing. that usually helps.
You will always be at odds with yourself until you love yourself.
Sounds like stress/anxiety. What did they give you, Ativan?
Careful with that....they can be habit forming.
You must stop caffeine, nicotine and any other stimulants, your adrenal glands are fried
Time to hit that treadmill dog. 💪🏽
