I got a decent sized garden and atleast two dew collectors per base or outpost and I still struggle with food and have to go hunt bears every once in a while.
@@natiive1444I have absolutely no struggles with food and water though. There are some things you can do to alleviate that if you are having that issue. Not doubting you, just saying there are so many perks that will help you find, farm, hunt, and cook food.
As with most of the information that FireSpark81 is sharing, this involves focusing on one thing more than others. You can't solve food and water issues if you are following a spec early in the game. Sure, make the Nomad set and have infinite food and water, but then you aren't wearing the set that has bonuses for your spec. Put points into Iron Gut, but then you won't have other skills that improve your spec. The real underlying problem is that food consumption is a total PITA until you can make some cooked food better than bacon and eggs. Once you can do that, and the mats are scarce early in the game, you won't really be worrying about food and water. Too much consumption early, too little later. It is unbalanced and broken AF.
If you spec in fortitude, the combo healing factor/iron Gut balances themselves well. With pain tolerance and a suit of heavy armor, the zombies have a tough time doing any damage to you, and the little damage they do can be healed with a bit of food. And this armor is the perfect armor for that kind of playthrough
Oh cause you eat less food from stam but more from HP. Hmmm interesting I suppose if you are not getting constantly beat to crap that would probably balance out to eating a normal amount of food
i got lucky and found the pure mineral water recipe early so by day 7 i got over 60 pure mineral water. as for food, it's not hard to get with either farming or hunting or just looting a sham way or one of those food type poi. EDIT: in short food and water in this game is not that hard to get so the nomad armor is a tad bit useless.
I was talking with a buddy of mine about loot stage you can get crazy amounts now I am curious on your thoughts on it. 25% lucky looter, 20% rogue helm, 5 flat from mod 5 flat and 10% from lucky candy (note this is without any biome loot stages added)! or maybe a possible video for this of course would be a lot of testing.
Yea I'm not sure. It would need a lot of testing. I tried testing loot stage things before but the results were inconsistent. Need to figure out a good way to test it. But I think it would make an interesting video.
Good video, enjoy the content. A few of the armors are “broken” all the medium armors can achieve 103% mobility with the medium armor perk maxed out with fitting mods in all pieces. This is higher mobility than light armors can achieve. Heavy armors aren’t “broken” but with the Raider Armor, Fort Bites and Skull Crushers I can clear a tier 6 infested insane difficulty melee only relatively easily since I won’t get a crit debuff. I’m sure you’ll be able to find some more armors that are just OP if not completely broken.
Raider is just OP. Fully specced you can simply facetank a ton of zombies as a brawler with pain tolerance maxed, you need to retreat and heal sometimes on T6 quests but you can take on pretty large groups at once without even moving. It made me switch to a perception build because it is so OP no matter the difficulty. Only downer is that they can easily push you trough walls.
The armors do need an overhaul. All of them. Wich is to be expected during the development of a game thouigh. Brawler build with raider armor set, fortbites and pain tolerance maxed is a joke. You can facetank a ton of zombies at once just standing there and punching, no matter the difficulty.
Why facetank zombies when you can get face to face with a zombie without them noticing. I’m playing with T6 assassin with max agility, as long as it’s not a trigger room with no escape, no one will notice a shadow sneaking around.
Depends on what challenges you've set for yourself. If you were to turn loot down food would or could become an issue. Also it's just good to know things.

@@Firespark81 Hello there, op here. Just found your channel after 1.0 got me back into the game. It's been very helpful, and I appreciate you getting into the code. You may have covered such things, but I decided to start a public server and there's a lot of tricks Im discovering that may be useful to new Admins. Perhaps this might be a good topic to cover? For example, you can give yourself dev tools like the digger gun, pseudo god-mode armor, or special reaource packs with console commands instead of using creative mode so that players can still get achievements while you retain access to tools that may be needed for an admin. I initially tried using the console command for these tools, but the item never appeared until I edited the Items xml file to change the "dev" classification property of the "creativemode" property to "none". After that, it worked as expected. Unfortunately I changed two variables at once by also standing on a two-block high pillar when running the command, so until further testing I can't say with 100% certainty what did the trick. Thanks for your time, I figured I'd give my two cents when I have the opportunity before channels like yours that blow up like the 7DtD playerbase!
Well, as with all armor sets, there are compromises. In this case, if you are wearing the Nomad set, you aren't wearing something else. The only time I really have food and water issues are early game which is exactly when I can't have a maxed out armor set of any kind. By the time I can afford to get a maxed out set, my food and water problems are solved. I go with the Assassin's set when I can afford to put something together, which is broken in its own right. In A21, I always tended to go with a stealth build so naturally gravitated towards the Assassin's set as a result. My secondary set is the Miner (lvl 6), which basically allows mining with the steel pickaxe without stamina loss. I wonder if these sets are really OP or just very good at what they do and not so much for what they aren't designed to do. Assassin's set has some value during the horde night, but there are other sets that are better since you can't hide from zombies during the blood moon. So far, I've only used maxed out Assassin's, Miner's, Lumberjack's and Commando's. Assassin's is my day to day set with Commando's as my horde night set. The other two are just work sets. No real opinion on the other sets as they haven't fit my play style in V1 as of yet.
I really don't like the new armor sets, there are barely any, and most of them suck or give a bonus that has nothing to do with the set they are for. like half the feet and bodies are just +stam
@nintailedsniper 15 total sets, yeah, i guess that's a decent amount, but Miner, Scav, Farmer, Lumber, are gathering sets and 3 helms are for bartering so 11 combat sets, 9 helms.
