Min Kwon: Selections from America/Beautiful | Lunar New Year 2022

Pianist Min Kwon shares selections from her ambitious America/Beautiful project, for which she commissioned variations on “America the Beautiful” from 75 diverse American composers. Hear variations by Avner Dorman, Lei Liang, Libby Larsen, Jake Heggie, John Musto, David Serkin Ludwig and Dave Ragland.
Kwon says: “This project was borne out of pandemic. When America was not a very beautiful place, I wanted to create new energy, new inspiration and new hope, not just for all of us musicians whose creativity came to a sudden halt, but also for all Americans-our listeners, neighbors, friends.”
