Ranking Every Death Battle Episode (Part 7)

- We will be ranking every Death Battle episode from season 7, which is the start- and the black sheep- of modern Death Battle.
This was where Rooster Teeth was in full control of Death Battle's production. Every Death Battle episode of season 7 would receive a waiting period of two weeks instead of three weeks and a new style of sprite animation that would attempt to shape Death Battle into a bigger show.
However, Death Battle season 7 is one of the most polarizing seasons of the show. It gets criticized for its poor animation quality, underwhelming matchup spread, and bad sound design. This was the first time that Death Battle fans began to feel like the show was losing its charm. Not to mention this was where people started believing that Death Battle was oversaturating the episodes with Marvel and DC characters.
On the other hand, Death Battle season 7 still has its qualities to it. Ranking every Death Battle episode from season 7 made me realize that some of its less popular episodes weren't as bad as I originally thought. Some of them had more interesting aspects and others were just flat-out very good episodes.
Can I say the disdain for Death Battle season 7 was overblown, or were they right to believe that? Find out when we rank every Death Battle season 7 episode.
To celebrate Death Battle season 10 I have decided to rank every Death Battle episode within its first 10 seasons. Death Battle has always been one of the most well-known shows on the internet. Whether it's praised for its amazing fights are criticized for its poor research, Death Battle episodes have marked their place in internet culture. As someone who grew up with this series, I felt that ranking every Death Battle episode would be the best way to celebrate season 10.

In regards to excluding Black Noir, in the comics he's a Homelander clone, and at that point in the TV show's canon, it was unknown if he'd be one there too. So i imagine to avoid any risk of looking wrong in the future, they just removed him from the fight.
The reason for the base scaling in broly vs hulk, is because once goku leaves SSG he keeps fighting and dose not noticed he powered down, and beerus is surprised goku can hit him,
Berus then declares goku took the power of SSG for himself and that's how the fight kept going, that's where it came from
Which I’m pretty sure they say in the episode, though it has been a bit.
The funny thing about this season is how this shows the how the Segway between more standard brawls in the past seasons to the more interaction and creativity (especially with puppet rigging and sprites) of the next 3 seasons. And how like aging it was extremely awkward.
In regards to the red hood being inspired by the joker: The joker was the red hood before he got pushed into the chemical vat that made his face look the way it does.

One of these days people pointing this out won't bother me as much as it should. But as someone who's been drawing since he was 6 and has since progressed in his art to be able to mimic other styles like dragon ball thanks to practice, it won't anytime soon 😮💨
All jokes aside I get ya Jonathan, I would think it's traced to thanks to how poor I was in the animation field back when I was working on all the hand drawn shots of that episode, and I definitely had growing pains when I was hired in the show. A part of me knew this would happen but my mind said "This is Beerus's iconic pose, you got to have him in it for the final line" ... completely forgetting the fact if it's to spot on people will sooner call you a tracer than a decent mimic artist. If I didn't all ready have a ton of images on Deviant Art and all the storyboards I've done up to now to fall back on when thinking about my skills as an artist I wouldn't be able to laugh this off as I can do now.
Sorry if this got weirdly deeper than it needed to be. All this to say, no. I didn't trace that. And I'd sooner stab my right hand before defaulting to it due to time constraints on shots. Amazing video by the way, seen every one and can't wait for you to talk about future fights.

The anti manner kick course is an attack Sanji uses twice or so and one of those was against fodder as crowd control. It has never been a finisher in any fight ever.
Didnt they mention that goku absorbed the god power into his base (which was the common assumption at the time, especially with Battle of Gods and Ressurection F)? They would go back on this in later episodes, but they still gave a reason for base Goku to scale that high. Or do you mean they should have elaborated more on the claim the made?
And since you mentioned how you were personally not sure if the scale makes sense, both the movie and the anime have Super Saiyan Goku fight just as well as he did in his God form when fighting Beerus. (Yes this is bringing outside factors and does lower the final result by 50x, and later death battles still only start the multiplier with SS God instead of Super Saiyan, but eh)

Now serious, i might add for your future season 8 review, i might say the infamous "hey you cut me off asshat" is not even close to the worst part of that, the next action she makes after shadow gives her the "mmh who cares" is literally jumping off the bike and transforming to literally kill a random animal who was going far faster than her, what if shadow didn't have powers she would've killed an innocent civilian hedgehog, this is Aang levels of character butchering.
One more thing apparently Goku Black VS Reverse-Flash was actually not planned at all, it was ultra who suggested it after 15 episodes were put but they needed one more and couldn't figure it.

For all its faults, i really enjoyed Season 7.
Sarge isn’t out of character in the RVB episode, Sarge HATES Grif and constantly tries to get him killed or wants him to die lol.
Old sarge hated grif modern sarge doesn't hate him nearly as much these days
The absolute best thing about this season, is that every other Death Battle season from now on is going to be phenomenal

I swear, every time I hear American Phantom, it sounds like something out of the Spider-Man PS1 games.
A reason I can think of for why Sanji's kicks sound metalic is because in the OP anime they sometimes use those type of sound effects when characters are using haki

Young Children who push themselves to become the best. Bullied and tormented by those literally born better they feel isolated and alone abused in there crule world. Before one person changes that, an Adult who see's past there weakness and the best in them, who believes in and help them go after and further achieve there dreams using nothing but hard work and dedication to the marchel arts. Modeling themselves off of their father figures in both fighting style and presentation, they follow there own strict rules and codes placed upon themselves to both prove themselves better then those from there past and as dear principles they would never compromise.

- They do mention that the calculations for Miles and Static aren't canon, but still supported
- Goro vs Machamp has more similarities than just four arms, since both are the unofficial "champions" of their worlds, are part of noble species where fighting is the focus of the world, and both have ridiculous loses or weaknesses.
- Jake didn't try to outrun Danny's laser, Danny launched him forward through possession and set up his laser-shot using Jack's momentum.
- They view Sonic's blackhole feat both ways to prove that it didn't matter either way. They've done this several times in the past, like with Dragonzord's drill, Spiderman 2099 strength, and Franks creativity and no one had too much of a problem with those
- Butch Hartman still thinks autism is and should be cured by religion

As a one piece fan 2:09:12 the sound design on sanji kicks is somewhat accurate to how they sound in the show
at least in super base goku DOES take the super saiyan god power into his base form, it's stated directly in the movie. And that's before the countless power ups and scaling that put base goku far beyond that before the broly movie. They could of done a better job of explaining it though

And the thing about bias is super true, I'm a super Animanga fan, basically if isn't a super popular anime besides Naruto or Dragon Ball (except One Piece because is... My favorite work of fiction) i get super hype, actually even with the two mentioned i still get hyped enough if it's a matchup i really like like Shigaraki vs Pain for example

Great video. I am glad I am not the only one who doesn’t like Venom vs Crona’s match up. Even though I would like to see Adam (RWBY) vs Zato, Venom vs Zato really does make more sense in comparison to Crona and it is a match up that seems to be pretty popular for both characters. Speaking of which, I know I am going all over the place here but when it comes to Broly vs Hulk, I will admit, even though Asura from Asura’s Wrath is my favorite match up for DBS Broly, I do understand that Hulk vs Broly is pretty much a legacy match up that was requested for years and I think it did played off pretty well. Not the best season finale but it was really fun with really great music, and the one other episode I really want to talk about is Wally West vs Archie Sonic. Now I have a weird relationship with this episode. My thoughts on this episode is all over the place but that mostly has to do with the fact that there is a lot of things I really really like but there are other things I really really dislike about the episode and it is usually not really consistent, like the dialogue. The dialogue start off really nice but in the later half, it just falls off. Oh, btw, you used an example form the IDW Sonic comics there when you were talking about that similar point, not from the Archie comics, though I guess the comparison isn’t too bad since Ian Flynn did wrote the later half of the Sonic Archie comics and the IDW Sonic comics soooo… eh. As for Red vs Blue’s episode, as someone who watched every season of the show, I will admit that it was really fun to watch and it managed to keep the sprite of the show much better then Seasons 15-17 and Red vs Blue Zero ever did.
Hulk healed from complete disintegration; DB didn't use that feat because Banner took longer to heal from being shot by Hawkeye.
But here's the thing, Banner did not have gamma radiation when he was shot by Hawkeye; He wasn't Hulk for a like a year, as Amadeus Cho took the gamma radiation from Banner. So it took longer for him to heal, because Devil Hulk needed to build up enough radiation to transform back to Hulk to heal Banner.
Also timing was terrible, TOBA Hulk feat wasn't used because DB thought it was just TOBA using that with Hulk's body; But then we learn that no, Hulk is literally TOAA's embodiment of wrath and rage. Immortal Hulk is still an ongoing series.
But I do agree that the fight was awesome; Devil Hulk likes playing around evil people, he pokes and prods at people's deepest insecurities. But Broly is pure, and similar to Savage Hulk, which every Hulk, even the angsty Joe Fixit is protective of; So in my head canon, Hulk did everthing to draw out Broly's anger and reach his potential. Green Door will just bring Hulk back anyways.
I got my own fair share of beef with this season, but I also think it's far from the worst seasons they've done
Miles vs Static: don't got much to say about this one, solid episode, Watts up Danger is sitting comfortably at number 3 for favorite track of the season, and aside from how the fight starts, I loved the fight from beginning to end
Black Canary vs Sindel: kinda forgettable if it weren't for the dialog in the fight
Leo vs Jason: another solid episode with my two biggest grips ironically enough involves Mikey. 1. I'm dreading/anticipating when Mikey comes on the show after hearing that dropped as a kid line again. And 2, Leo acts more like Mikey than himself at points in the fight
Genos vs War Machine: don't get the matchup, and honestly think this would've been better in sprites or even 3D
Gray vs Esdeath: I think it ranges to ok to probably character tactics assassination at worst from what I heard from both sides, as well as lowbaling Gray and Highballing Esdeath. But I've only seen the first 50 episodes of Fairy Tail and no interest in seeing Akame ga Kill. Lost Ice Storm is an absolute banger and great when walking outside during a snowstorm
Goro vs Machamp: ngl Wiz, I hated this matchup and thought it was gonna suck whenever they decide to do it... boy am I glad I was wrong about this because it's probably my favorite episode of the season, with the track fight against Way Past Flash for favorite track of the season
Cable vs Booster Gold: one of those episodes in where I enjoyed the analysis more than the fight. Not to say the fight is bad or anything like that, I just got more chuckles than I was expecting and became a fan of Booster Gold by the time the Death Battle door closed on him, as well as having a understanding on Cable's origin since every time it's brought up, it's never touched apon aside from "serious dude from the future"
Obi-Wan vs Kakashi: another contender for favorite episode of the season, only in second place because my preferred character lost. What can I say? I'm a biased bitch who'd rather see characters I like or have a strong attachment to win and not get brutally murdered. But if I know my preferred character is screwed, then I'll take the L
Danny Phantom vs Jake Long: As someone who watched these shows as a kid, this was incredibly disappointing. The clone battle in the sky was cool at least
She-Ra vs Wonder Woman: I get the flack from this episode, but I also think it's kinda overhated. Yeah a grander scale would've elavates this episode with new Wondy stuff, but what we got ain't that bad
Beerus vs Galaxia: shame this got sent to copyright hell (thanks Toei, but not really), because despite my gripes with this one, mainly on not sure if I buy the verdict. But the fight itself was excellent with God's of Destruction going hard
Zuko vs Shoto: I was always confused on why people think Zuko beats Shoto when that one stadium feat alone should tell you the difference in power. Anyway I get what they we're going for, the fandom is definitely downbad for Zuko. But maybe have him as a adult to be less awkward, nothing wrong with Shoto's analysis though, probably one of my favorites this season. Fight itself was ok, nothing note worthy that I can think of aside from the climax of the fight...Zuko vs Roy when?
Wally West vs Archie Sonic: probably the textbook definition of wasted potential, if it weren't for the inter dimensional highway and hyper Sonic, I'd think this was just regular Sonic vs Wally. And the verdict didn't cover enough in my opinion, or bringing stuff up like how Wally counters Sonic's protection ring, or bringing up anti feats for Sonic when You can easily do the same to Wally. Archie Sonic vs Xeno Goku when?
Winter Soldier vs Red Hood: another solid episode, albeit with flaws(particularly in the killing blow and conclusion), hope we can get another live action fight someday
Venom vs Crona: If I had a nickle every time I get cucked out of Carnage vs Crona, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice...*and disappointing* not much to say, pretty underwhelming, obvious verdict is obvious, and didn't like how Venom just standed there doing nothing after making an epic speech
The seven battle royale: don't have a lot to say other than de baby
Sabrewolf vs Jon Talbain: my biggest gripe with this episode is the speed of the characters. I've seen how fast wolves can move, so superhuman wolf's must go slower right? Aside from that, I loved this episode and Blood Moon fucks
Red vs Blue: as someone who watched The show, I think this episode is ultimately pointless since anybody whose seen the show would tell you who would win, and have a better lineup for both sides than what we got. Analysis and fight was ok though, Sarge was the highlight of the episode, the choreography was good. The majority of them getting killed by a single bullet was lame though. Caboose vs Mako and Sarger vs Solder when? Seriously, can we get a Red vs Blue character who isn't fighting another Red vs Blue character?
Batgirl vs Spider Gwen: the breaking point for alot of people, including me. It's just Batman vs Spider-Man but with tits to me. Atleast the analysis and editing were surprisingly good. Can't say that about the fight though, *insert complaints that literally everyone else has*
Sanji vs Rock Lee: pretty sure the only connection they got going on is kicks... but even then, Lee still uses his hands to fight. This is just a rivalry matchup and nothing more. The analysis was meh, can't say about Sanji since I haven't seen One Piece. But I can confidently say that they character assassinated Lee's character in the fight, spended too long on Drunk Lee, and disses on his opponent when that isn't his thing, and speed running through the 8 gates. Sad that I like the previous episode more in hindsight
Hulk vs broly: The Hulk is my favorite superhero of all time, with Super Broly becoming my favorite Dragon Ball character. I have a lot to say on this one, so bear with me. If I had a nickel everytime my dream fight (Hulk vs Asura) got cucked, I'd have four nickels (if we're including the CoC ballot) , which has gotten very annoying and sad at this point. But Atleast with this one I get why, it's a legacy matchup, and Super Broly it adds more connections. Also, that's why they went with Doomsday at the time? God I hate that matchup. But enough about lamenting on crushed dreams, let's get into the episode. Analysis was good with a few gripes. On Hulk's end, nothing really aside from wanting a feat that didn't involve the science of the fuck. On Broly's side, they said that Z and Super Broly are one in the same. But I've seen both movies, Z Broly is a sociopath who takes pleasure from the pain he inflicts on others, while Super Broly is a gentle giant who'd rather chill with his animal buddies. Even how they get stronger is different, it's been a while since I remember how Z Broly powers up, but Super Broly's power up comes from his mutation of the Ozaru ape form. As for the fight itself. The opening is one of my favorite openings they've ever done. And when they started throwing hands...I'm sorry, but after Nemesis Bloodryche pointing it out I can't unsee it. After Hulk ragdolled Broly in the beginning, Broly no sells his attacks for the rest of the fight, and his "Immortal" line was cheesy as heck, but Atleast it's made up by the line immediately after when Hulk makes a callback to Z Broly's line about the devil. Also, I think they wasted his "HULK SMASH" Line, it wasn't even a smash attack, it was a clap attack. But when they get to space, it's a treat for the eyes and absolutely loved the whole sequence. Then I see Hulk's hands disintegrate and literally said "what?" The first time I watched it. Yeah if that didn't make it obvious, I do not agree with the verdict. And now I die a little every time I hear about SS3 Goku being 300 times stronger than WB Hulk. I have nothing against the scaling for Broly, just how they lowbaled Hulk when he's shown better feats and the next Marvel vs Dragon Ball counteracts this one. Plus they mention that Hulk's personalities would clash against each other, but looking at outside sources, they've have co-existed with the other personalities. Last thing, while Ikari slaps, it sounds more like The Broly song than Hulk vs Broly song, no church bells from the cartoon show, no piano from the lonelyman, no menacing vibes from the 08 theme. I get why people love it, but as a Hulk fan, kinda underwhelming and Hulk felt like an afterthought. So overall, not a bad episode. But as a fan of Hulk, kinda felt like a final fuck you from 2020 to me specifically, since my mind was not in a good place at that time. And because of that, I can't fully appreciate episode as it is due to when it came out and basically being a time capsule from a dark and depressed time in my life. I would like to say Hulk vs Asura when? but, well, pretty sure you've read the beginning of this.
My final verdict for this season as a whole is a 7/10, Ironic I know. But it has it's very high like GoroChamp and ObiShi, it's lows like SanLee and BatGwen, and my personal beef with Brolk. But still a solid season, and I will say that I'm glad that we got less episodes in the coming seasons since that means future episodes have more time to cook

I used to really dislike season 7 since it made me drop Death Battle for a year, making me skip season 8, my favorite season of the show, but when I went back to rewatch it, I was surprised to find out how much of the season I enjoyed. Sure, there were episodes that I didn't like such as Gray vs Esdeath, Sanji vs Rock Lee, and Batgirl vs Spidergwen, but there are still a lot of the episodes that are really enjoyable. Episodes such as Goro vs Machamp, Cable vs Booster Gold, Obiwan vs Kakashi, and Winter Soldier vs Red Hood are all episodes that I loved. While it is far from my favorite, I would much rather revisit season 7 than go back to seasons 1, 3, and 4, and as you said, I'm glad people are finally coming around to this season and giving it another chance. Can't for you to finally talk about season 8.
Also, I agree with you, even as someone who doesn't consider Venom as one of their favorite marvel characters, Venom vs Crona is a SNOOZEFEST

Genos vs War Machine is one of those episodes i honestly forgot happened. There really wasn't much about it that stands out in my opinion, and I don't particularly care about either character involved.
As for the Wally vs Sonic ending, i always enterpreted it as Wally going back in time to destroy the Chaos Emerald, effectively erasing the Sonic that he'd been fighting from existence, and the various interations that flashed by were possible versions of Sonic that could have existed across multiple timelines.
In regards to Sanji vs Lee, as someone who is fan of both series I can tell I kinda do get the idea, kicky theme (kinda with lee) with like weird eyebrows, being bullied as a child for lack of ability (lee lacks chakra and sanji is essentially the non engineered blacksheep of his genetically enhanced family but hes also bullied for other stuff) and they also look up to mentors that inspired them and learnt their martial arts. Fine stuff but I cant help but feel like this is one of those ideas that feels like it belongs in early seasons hard to explain that really. I guess having Lee this kinda late in death battle where hes like not only the 7th naruto rep but also just Might Guy in db season before kinda makes him not as exciting to talk about (not his fault Kishimoto did him dirty in post time skip where he barely does anything iirc) so theres not much mileage to get out of him.

Death Battle doing what Insomniac did with Venom only way worse because at least it was a different version of Venom with a different host. Honestly, as much as I dislike Insomniac’s Venom because of…. Everything surrounding it, I can at least accept it’s a different version of Venom that just has a different host, here the characterization is just worse because it actually is Eddie Brock this time and Eddie has gone far past this
Insomniac's Venom still works for me personally because the story was framing the symbiote itself as antagonistic rather than Venom specifically, which is fine (hell, even if Venom vs Crona did something like this, I'd understand it to that extent, as well barring the Carnage coding), but I do agree that it still has problems in how it affects Peter's personality by......not actually twisting his personality as much as the game thinks it does. I do believe that it works in how the symbiote manipulates Harry's brain into desiring to become something stronger, but then again, it is kind of a repeat of what the first game did.

As a diehard dragon ball fan, from what I remember Death battle showed the clip of goku fighting beerus in super saiyan after the clash, and beerus states that goku absorbed the god ki into his base form, which im pretty sure is the same thing they said in the conclusion. So it's not really an assumption on their end, just a fact when it comes to battle of gods scaling.

Your response is pretty much that just because 2 sound effects were missing there wasn't impact on every hit of the fight. My first respomse was meant to be that obviously when I said EVERY...SINGLE...HIT, I didn't mean it that literally. I'm pretty sure that just 2 instances of weaker sound design in the entire fight don't negate my entire point (and btw, you didn't even mention the first one in your season 3 review and treated the second one like the ONLY moment of bad sound design), especially since my point was that the instances of impact were significantly more in numbers than in any previous episode. But then, I realised than no, there weren't 2 moments of bad sound design. There were 2 missing sound effects in 2 moments of multiple sound effects meaning that the other sound effects in those 2 moments did their jobs well (as you explained in detail in your season 3 review about the shattering building). Also, these moments are still intended to be impactful. Normally, I wouldn't bring intent into this, since thus far this was just a discussion about execution and execution alone, but then you brought up intent as a defense of Hulk vs Broly's sound design, sooooooo.......
As for why Thanos vs Darkseid is not criticised as much as Hulk vs Broly, I suppose that it could be because it was thoroughly and in-depth reviewed by Nem and Biff, two of the most influential creators in the community, after Hulk vs Broly, thus people had more time to connect the opinions presented in those reviews with Hulk vs Broly. Similarly, Nem's review for Hulk vs Broly came out closer to Hulk vs Broly's release than his season finale ranking to Thanos vs Darkseid's release, thus people had more time to get nostalgic memories of the episode, plus, in-depth Death Battle reviews weren't even that common prior to season 7. Also, Hulk vs Broly was more reliant on sound design than Thanos vs Darkseid, because Thanos vs Darkseid is more associated with scale and Hulk vs Broly was associated with a combination of impact and scale (and then came Hulk vs Doomsday that was primarly associated with impact). That last point (the lack of association with impact) also applies to Metal Sonic vs Zero, Sanji vs Rock Lee and Sabrewulf vs Jon Talbain (that, and apparently Sanji vs Rock Lee was mimicking sound effects from one of One Piece's dubs during the Handsome Squidward moment).
Man, imagine making a response more impactful than both of Hulk's episodes.
Also, since you brought up Venom's portrayal in the Spectacular Spiderman, what did you think in general about his portrayal in the show? Like, it feels thst the show is just one of those pieces of media that gets mindless praise fpr just existing (just like MK9) where not a lot of people really goes into much detail on why it's so great (although there are a few reviews of the show that I might check out one day). I'm curious if your thoughts on Venom's portrayal in the show match closer to the popular opinion or to S.K.'s opinion.

This season really has some stellar highs (Goro v Machamp is legit my 3rd favorite fight, PERIOD) to some big lows (Sindel vs Black Canary... That Felicia hair still haunts the nightmares of my nightmares) and a select few true duds (sorry Gwen v Batgirl and sorry The Seven Royale )
Not the worst season by a French mile but it definitely still was entertaining!!! That's all I ask in the end
Also, Cable vs Booster somehow grew on me recently. I was a little too harsh on it at first, i feel. Glad that changed ♡♡

Sonic vs Flash was just pure wasted potential if I’m being honest. Not only did they ignore feats for both characters but they did them both so dirty especially Sonic like talk about pure hatred as if Mario Vs Sonic 2018 wasn’t bad enough.
Kakashi was very lowballed in Kakashi vs. obi Wan, but it was a good episode. Thank goodness they have gotten better with naruto scaling in general

I really enjoyed S7, though I do agree with it's faults. It had some of my favourite episodes, and had some characters I like appear. Even if some of them were in subpar episodes.
First I'm hearing some didn't like episodes like Miles vs Static. All the fans I know, had nothing but praise for them. Myself including.
It's less other people didn't like it and more that other people said that they didn't have much to say on it and thought it was just good and not much else.

Goku in base being stronger then he was in god during BOG is not an assumption. It is a fact, so long as you are not exclusively using Manga Goku, which Death Battle does not, they tend to combine DBS manga and anime canon.
In the anime it is flat out stated that Goku absorbed the power of SSG into his base form. Meaning as soon as Goku gets even a bit stronger, Goku in base will already have surpassed his God form during that fight.
To be fair, Death Battle forgot to mention this, so your point on the conclusion still mostly stands. Just wanted to clarify.
Also in defense of the repeat shockwave use, its really the only feat they can use for high end stuff.
The only other impressive feats we can use is Jiren shaking the infinite void, and Jiren moving through stopped time. However there are many problems in using these feats.
Unless your saying Jiren has infinite power, (which he doesn’t) then that void feat is meaningless. And it’s been shown multiple times that hax in the DB world don’t matter if the opponent is too strong. It’s not Jiren being so fast or strong he can bypass time itself, it’s just that he was far stronger then Hit.
The other proublem is the characters have to scale to or beyond Jiren to use these feats in then first place. Goku Black does not and we can’t say for sure if even Broly does. He might but it’s debatable.

How did they portray PTSD? Thats hard to say, because it's really different for every person. For me it feels like my stomach dropping out and then I cough until I throw up. It's really varied and you can't really say that a depiction is super off base because people respond in any number of ways.
I never got why people got weirded out by Wiz's comment about Zuko. One, even for Wiz, Zuko isn't real. Two, Zuko is grown by that time. Three, nobody gets weird about the woman who wrote it or HER having a crush on Zuko. We all have fictional crushes. Get over it.
I never got why Cable, whose mother is one of the most powerful beings in the universe, would use "you hit like a girl" as an insult. Even as a '90s edgelord, he would still know better.
If The Boys episode was sponsored by Amazon why didn't they just get the actual cast from the show? The whole point is to advertise this series, after all.
The funny thing with this Season is that when it was in production it didn’t really interested me. Don’t get me wrong, I do think lot of the good out way the bad, but in that point of pandemic, I was focus on other stuff and didn’t really get to see a lot of Season 7, plus I didn’t felt interested in watching some of episodes since there were a few that didn’t catch my interest.
But with that being said, I thought it was pretty good. There were some pretty great episodes that enjoyed like Leo VS Jason, Wally VS Sonic, and Hulk VS Broly. And of course this Season did bring some fan favorites like Beerus VS Galaxia, Winter Soilder VS Red Hood, Cable VS Booster Gold, and Obi Wan VS Kakashi.
And as for the Marvel VS DC line up, I don’t really care if people make it sound overly saturated. Mainly because both Marvel and DC have pretty extensive characters with extensive worlds. Plus Death Battle can find ways to get me interested in characters I didn’t care for. They did before, and after as well.
Next season when you do Ryuko vs Shadow you need to bring up the real best Kill la Kill matchup. DEATH BATTLE TSHIRT VS SENKETSU; BATTLE OF THE CLOTHES BABY!!
I gotta personally disagree with Venom vs Crona being a bad MU for two main reasons
1. I don’t like judging MU’s based off the fact the MU’s you think are better existing, I feel like a lot of the negativity the MU gets is simply because it wasn’t Shiro or Ryuko vs Crona or Zato or Jackie vs Venom (even though I do prefer Ryuko and Zato)
And 2. It could play into their duality between their villainous almost sadistic introductions to their series’ and their slow struggles towards the side of good and the literal duality of the more goodhearted hosts and their less goodhearted symbiotic partners
I feel like if the episode itself wasn’t so disappointing this MU would get way less of a bad rep honestly, Booster vs Cable is an awful MU that doesn’t go into any of the interesting parts of their characters and is a series combination we have seen a million times before yet people don’t mind because the episode was really good and Crona vs Venom had the potential to be a really good episode but it fumbled the bag and now people who wanted other options for the two characters bash the MU despite the fact there are like multiple episodes with way worse connections which people don’t complain about that much because the episode wasn’t as disappointing
