Royal Albatross ~ TF Leaves His Nest Paddle Walks To Base Of Hill To Garden! Sleeps Off Nest 7.1.24

- TF is on the move!! He gets up to do some gardening and slowly paddle walks towards the base of the hill. He does some gardening along the way and then stands up to look down over his nest and at his neighbor TFT 😊Back down a few steps and then back up! TF will eventually walk down and to the right and lay down on a totally new spot and not his nest. TF ends up staying here and sleeping! A big NZ storm comes in overnight and he stays in this spot the following day and only returning to his nest late at night on the following day! What an independent explorer TF is! If mom or dad had come back to feed, I bet those paddles would have huddled him right back home.
Oh, our sweet RC Prince TF is becoming ever more adventurous! Thank you very much for this video, dear Lady Hawk! It is such fun to see HRR discovering the pleasures of new grasses here and there within Top Flat, and to see his legs/paddles so nice and strong as he develops his land-roving skills. Falling asleep in a "new nest" that is not his original one is a big deal, wow! He is learning all the time, practicing "being Albatross" in small ways that will hone his skills for when he will someday be on his own. Great job by LGK and LGL, keeping their chick well-fed up till now. TFT's parents have been doing super-well keeping their chick well-feed, too. We are truly lucky to have two families on view this season.
