The northern part of the bypass is relatively ok, but the southern one is definetely substandard, with traffic lights and roundabouts. Visited Rouen a few years ago, very beautiful city, but didn't drove on this eastern bypass road. Thanks for sharing it!
@@daydreamer3316 I believe the Route des Estuaires takes A29 around Rouen, via the Pont de Normandie. The reason why Bordeaux is indicated is due to the gap in A28 at Rouen. You have to take A13 towards Caen for a little bit until you reach A28.

The city of Rouen has a little less people than the city of Jaén (Spain) (Jaén has 113,000), but it's like the Metropolitan Area of Granada, in Spain, if we speak about its metropolitan area's population. And the city of Granada has double or more than double the population of the city of Jaén (230,000 to 250,000 people live in the city of Granada, I guess)
The city of Rouen itself is the urban bulk of the metro (city centre and commercial areas). Many suburbs are as urban as Rouen and have their own city centre, creating a very big urban area
If you come from Amiens, which is basically coming from Germany and Belgium, and you are driving to Caen, this short 15 minutes drive through Rouen will save you a lot of péage instead of using the A29 and Pont de Normandie. And the kilometers are the same. 9,30 Euro instead of 19 Euro.
Hi brilliant footage Don’t no if you could advise me regarding best route through Rouen. I’m going to Yelloh! Village Camping Le Pin Parasol having to head to la mans I will be towing large twin axle caravan. Google maps showing a route but looking like lots of turns etc. Video y.have uploaded seem like more straightforward and don’t think it’s much further miles. Any advice would be appreciated thanks. Keep your videos coming very helpful 👍
The route in the video is the preferred route for through traffic (transit traffic), both towards Paris and Le Mans. If you continue straight at the bridge over the Seine, there is a slightly shorter route, but that requires more urban driving.

It's because Rouen is a part of the "route des estuaires" a road itinerary which connects Seine, Loire and Garonne estuaries and ends up in Bordeaux 😉

2 years ago I drove A151, A150, N1338, N338 and N138 which is not a bad route, except for the N1338 on the south bank of the Seine.
Can confirm. Me I have to (painstackingly) take the N27 with the bridge that took 10 years old to be opened. What a pain it was to wait.
