Kudos to BMW for proving that a large SUV doesn't have to look ponderous. I also prefer the previous look of the outgoing X7 front facia, more elegant overall in my opinion. I'm glad you mentioned the xDrive40i versus the M60i. It's interesting when people test drive both versions, most go with the 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder - smooth and powerful. After the DBX, I want an X7. Thank you, Miles.
As an owner of this vehicle I can say it’s one of the best family trucks I’ve ever owned. The Benz is too “glitzy” and the range has ridiculous mark ups. Also it’s boring. We got Urban Green so it’s a wild looking truck that hauls the entire fam to and from school at 0-60 in 4 seconds.

You nailed this review. I’ve had the x7 40i for 2 years now and it’s been amazing. I sometimes look at a GLS or RR and think they are nice but for the money, x7 is the most rounded vehicle.
What do we want from the infotainment? Maps and music that integrates with the preferences set on my phone and has live traffic updates, on a decent sized screen. With actual buttons for the most used settings. Why can't they just make 10 buttons, configurable with display on each other so I can set an icon to it as well.
Use voice control. No need for any button. It is so easy. Both Hands always on the wheel. Had it in my X5M Comp and now in my X7M60i. Wondering why this is always still discussed.
I like the new look, maybe because I got it 😅 I found the pre-LCI a bit boring and similar to all previous BMWs, this changes it up a bit. I like the edginess of the front, it's a very well executed split headlights, though BMW is late to the game. The Jeep Cherokee did the best execution on those before the X7 came along. The interior is great and performance is unparalleled. 4s 0-60 is insane for this behemoth, that's like sports car territory. I think my M4 might feel slower that that.

@@MercOne #1? i see 4 times more mercedes and teslas on the road rather then BMWs, especially new ones. Theres only one new X7 in my area ive seen, and plenty of GLS suvs. I live in california, so that says something

The X7 outsells the GLS nationwide, regardless of what you see in your area. Going by what you see is in general not a good way to gauge sales, especially nationwide.
I don't understand the "put everything in the infotainment" trend. So pointless. Actually makes the user experience worse... for what? $20 / car of extra profit ? Greed is ruining the car industry. I remember, not so long ago, you actually got value for your money.

I haven't heard horror stories about the X7's reliability, so another great option might be a used X7 M50i (with the older face). 👍

That existed before on the 2022 & earlier X7’s and current X5, etc…similar less grotesque screen and perfect buttons below…but now…nope.
