Yes, I thought the same, there are some music masterpieces in this game. Well, the most rational answer would be, that they wanted to keep a balance between RDR2 and GOW.

Tho in game I played as Kratos, I felt deeply connected to the Boi Atreus.
Growing up I never had a strong relationship with my own father due to distance and different time zone. Last year when I headed back home me and my pa went to hiking on local mountain( more or less a hill actually)
And my dad give me some advice that I heard before, I know he knew I’m bored, and vice versa, all of them was kinda corny, and I forget most of them as quick as possible.
But when I play this game, I realized that my own father was kinda blunt like Kratos in some way, he never know how to reach out to me just like I didn’t know I could depend on him. We are trying to connect but we are so bad at it so in the end we almost give up on trying. We are both afraid to show our weakness to each other, afraid that we might disappointed with each other.
When I realized it, I forgive my father’s absence during my teenage years, and decide to let him know that I forgive him. I kinda find my inner peace with him thru a video game.
Anyway, this is my story. Kinda corny and nothing really fun.

This is how it's done, no dlc, or microtransaction and won GOTY. Well deserved. I see people want DLC for the game which is understandable, but know that it does not need it and is an actual full fledged game and not some half made game. The ending set's it up perfectly for a sequel. This is how a true game is made, it truly is a masterpiece.
BrooksMasters yes it is a fully fledged game which means it requires no DLC but that's what makes people want it because if you add DLC onto this game it would definitely add completely new story elements
Well DLCs were originally side projects but then big triple A companies saw that there was money in it and it just defeated the purpose of DLC so in way I'm glad there's no DLC I can't wait for the sequel
Even still, the addition of DLC for a complete game would be just that, an addition, not a completion. DLC is fully acceptable if it adds to a complete game rather than finishes it
Aidan Mattys This I agree with. Over the years with all the microtransactions the gaming community has lost the meaning of DLC with it usually coming to complete a game rather than add on to it. However in the case of this game I'd rather a sequel come than DLC.
After 2 full playthroughs with valks I just don't want to play it for a while, especially with all the newer games I have. If there was something new however, I would prolly drop rdr2 til I would beat the dlc for GoW.

I finished this game. Truly a masterpiece.
What I find amazing about this trailer is that there isn’t a single second of action in the whole thing, but it gets me hyped to play the game all over again purely because of how gorgeous its world is. It’s the mark of a true masterpiece when you can not even show the best part and still hook someone in.

GOW is just so unique. It's one of a kind. I really liked RDR2 too don't get me wrong it's a masterpiece as well but it just didn't felt as special as GOW. To reach such quality without having to rely on any sort of multiplayer makes it the one and true GOTY.

This game is a true work of art. The passion of every developer has clearly been poured into this masterpiece, and the visual and narrative spectacle is only improved by this gorgeous soundtrack. The game goes from a booming orchestra to soft vocals, perfectly illustrating the world it creates.
Never got this much chills from vocals in a game since Dragon Age Origins soundtrack

For people who didn't pick up on it in-game or haven't heard any of director Cory Barlog's spoiler chats, the yellow markings featured in all but the last shot of the trailer were left behind by Faye to guide Kratos and Atreus on their journey. Little hints to help guide both the player, and the characters themselves.

That vocal melody is the definition musical beauty. Mysterious but familiar, beautiful but melancholic, heartbreaking but uplifting. I can't remember a video game score to encompass all of these emotions simultaneously from start to finish. Ever. If this trailer doesn't leave you with goosebumps by its conclusion, you simply aren't capable of human emotion.

Rd fanboy here , I'm not even mad rd didn't win GOTY , I got a solid 4 weeks play time out of GOW before it got repetitive .. two months later I'm playing rdr2 and it still feels fresh that's not even including the MP , that speaks volumes , y'all need to just enjoy both games and stop acting superior , some pre determined award show doesn't make another game better ;)

This game brought me to tears. Especially at the end when you see the land of the Titans ravaged by Thor and Odin. I didn't see it until the second time but all their lifeless bodies. It was dark and covered. I felt so bad for that race of beings
