Re-anchor rescue - escaping the loops

The best way to get through a re-anchor with a casualty is to avoid getting tangled in the loops. But what happens if it goes wrong? Here are a couple of simple methods to escape the loops.

Another option.
using a knife cut the loop once transferred past it, then cut off the casualties harness dropping them to the floor and making your own descent far more comfortable.
This method requires quite a good poker face and a practiced natural "he was like that when I got here"

In the second instance the casualty can connected via his descender on the back-up line.
Descend slightly until the casualty descender takes load,
The short link can be removed and re-attached...Making sure the loop is free.
Release load on casualty descender until he is hanging on short link again.
Much less physical effort and is still safe as the 2 point principle is maintained.
