The hot tub store wanted $65 for a bromine dispenser. I used a Larry's seasoning salt container, drill small holes in it, fits right in my hot tub holder!
Brilliant! I have a 350gall. hot tub and was getting tired of wasting $ and plastic cartridges! Super easy-I don't have a vise but I used my Knipex channel locks and it worked just as well! Amazing how knowing one simple detail (grabbing the top edge) makes all the difference! Thanks!
The spa frog for Hot Tubs is the best thing since sliced bread but..BUT- F*** M* £21 each now 🤯😳 I just “you tube” wondered..? Not all heroes wear capes … A screwdriver and a vice is handy but- I think saving £16 plus a fill is worth the effort and saves the planet
Awesome video! Curious, what size hot tub do you have (gallons)? Are you still using it on level 6? Did you have to drill new holes? Also curious if you could link to the bromine tablets you're using. I found a 5lb tub of the Clorox Spa Brominating Tablets on Amazon for around $37, not sure if those are the ones you're using. Thanks in advance!
@@busa4mee wow! I was thinking about getting a hot tub with this system, but now I know that I can skip the mineral and use bromine tabs to refill. Thanks so much! I’ll have to get another device to figure out how to open the top.
These things suck! Have to have it on level 6 when it should be level 2 for my 300 gallon size spa. Their company makes excuses and never admits they’re false advertising
it depends on bather load. With 1 person using my spa 2-3 times per week this lasts me 3-4weeks. but once the bather load goes up itll be gone in 2 weeks. I also shock my spa every week with 1/3 cup oxidizer shock. Keep my bromine around a 5.
For us lazy people...Give this a try Took me a minute to figure this out. Twist the dial past 6..and pull up...POP!!!! Hmm? Look it is a cartridge in a Cartridge :-) Cut the bottom open, (Pick a method Drill, Razer, Knife, hack-saw, etc) Fill it from the bottom, and while upside down...pop the selector tube back on. Cartridge is ready to go.
@@busa4mee I have a 6 month old Marquis Epic Spa and the inline system works perfectly. That in combination with the ozone system has made this thing virtually maintenance free. Of course I also have a 24x7 monitor floating in the water that sends my smart phone any issues with the water chemistry.

Not all heroes wear capes. Thank you!!!
Works great with Bromine tabs! Thanks
Thank you so much, I have the same thoughts as you about cost & waste.
🙏
OMG thank you! I'm so happy to have come across this.
What do you fill it with exactly? So i can purchase the right product. Thanks you.
You’re my hero
Thanks! 😀

Looks like a job for channel locks
Thanks!! How many tablets did you put in the cartridge and how long did it last?
Awesome. Thanks!
👌🙏
Did the tablets work better than the granules??
Much better!
@@busa4mee Did you have to go higher or lower on the setting with the tab vs original

Are you still doing this, Bromine tabs working ok?
Yes, they work great x
@@busa4mee awesome, thanks for the tip!
@@busa4mee guess I’m buying a bench vise today :). I’ll tell the wife it’s for cost savings.
@@jsandman32 indeed it is!
thank you for the tip
Any idea what type of chlorine works best?
Bromine for hot tubs pal.. Chlorine for swimming pools
How about the mineral one?
Haven't used those since my first one ran out, it's a total gimmick, don't buy them!

Why not just use a regular floater?
What tablets for bromine do you recommend?
Idk but can I get in your hot tub ;)

"the easy way".. then proceeds to use a piece of heavy equipment that 90% of people watching this video probably do not own.
A bench vice? 😂
You don't need to use a vice, with enough force you can open the top part.

Actually I have completely quit using the cartridge and most have one of those yellow ducks floating around now 😆 the inline system is a total joke!
