Voyager competed in the live national final in 2022 (they won the Tele vote) and I can confirm their live performance was spot on. They have also been playing together for about 20 years so they have the experience. As an Australian I am really proud they are representing us and showing the diversity of Australian music. Oh and there is definitely a West Melbourne!
Re taste in instruments.. Alex (bass) and Simone (guitar) both work in a Perth music store, so they get to see a lot of instruments! There’s an interview with them online about it.
I have been WAITING for you guys to finally get to this one!!! I cannot quite describe how much I love this song, and I am so glad you also enjoyed it. My reaction basically mirrored Carlena's the first time I heard it, and I have been in love ever since ❤ Every single moment of this song is so intentional, so amazingly well thought out, and so incredibly performed. I love how the song itself constantly evolves, and that the ending just leaves you wanting to hear SO much more from them. Not only is Promise my #1 this year, but this stands a very good chance of becoming my fav. Eurovision song of all time 😲 I am so excited that they will be closing Semi #2, and I know they are going to KILL IT live, because that's what they do. Their other music is incredible, and I do totally recommend you give them a listen beyond just ESC. Thanks for your reaction! ❤ Love you guys as though you were my own family! ❤
Voyager have always been very good live, they opened up for nightwish and Opeth whenever they toured Australia. and Voyager kinda toned it down a little, they are more prog metal band
Thanks for this, I always felt this song was too "watered down to please the masses". It has a good metal song in there, but it's just... not what it maybe should be, if you understand what I mean.
@@clebekki1645 I totally get you, they made it the most poppy they could make it, which is not bad, they song, the progressions are very good! The chorus is very meh but I’m glad they are getting the shine
@@clebekki1645 its a double edged sword. Bc they made it more poppy they might have alienaited some voters but they got the jury attention and got alot of their points. Its a textbook example on how to make a "metal" song that juries wont kill to the ground like they did with Germany.
Voyager competing for Australia while Andrew Lambrou competes for Cyprus is very funny coz they BOTH were in the nation final for Aus last year but missed out to Sheldon Riley
Two Australian Entries this year thanks to Andrew who is representing Cyprus plus they both competed in the Australian national final last year too. So good luck to them both from a fellow Aussie 🤘🇦🇺🎤
If you want a song that's more like Nickelback's song look at Ollie with 'Venom' which ALMOST beat Alika in Eesti Laul this year! He's a LOT more like Nickelback. In comparison, this is futuristic 'Progressive Metal' which represents the Australia people a LOT more. This one is slept on by the fandom and will do better than some anticipate FOR SURE!
Well it's not Easter for another 49 minutes here in Poland but (if you observe it), happy Easter to you all anyway, hope you'll have the most wholesome time. 🤗 Ps. Really happy to have you back after a bit of a upload break.
Happy Easter to you too! Upload break = editing Cyprus + uploading + failing + editing + uploading + failing + editing + uploading + giving up and moving on. This happens every year 😂
saving Sweden to last since you know there will be some harsh words coming regarding the lyrics in tattoo? :) Fire/rain/pain- trifecta Im a swede who can admit that i dont like the song, BUT i can still see us wining despite that just because of the performance/stageshow as i think that is levels above the rest we have seen so far. BUT it will be much closer then the oddsmakers have it.
The Australian Version of South Detroit would have to be, nothing… nah, closest thing might be… it’s hard because Australia doesn’t really have any depopulated areas. Maybe Bankstown… I don’t know.
Not a big rock person here, so I prefer the verses to the chorus. Those are quite nice but then there is this typical wall of sound guitar wall and I’m a little more… meh. I can see this working well live. There are 3 rock’ish songs in semi 2 and I think two of them might well go through. This is one of them.

Aka Geelong😂
It's Easter in Sweden too, so happy Easter everyone! Australia is my favorite Eurovision entry this year.
One if my fav songs from this year - can’t wait to hear it live
They were just live in Madrid's pre party! It was awesome!! Check it out!
This grew on me so much it has totally clicked now! And btw I just saw them live at the Madrid preparty and yes, they did very well

Been a Voyager fan for years. They'll get my vote of course.
Best regards,
Patrik from Sweden

Voyager are an experienced band; have performed in many countries. They will BRING it & rock the stadium. 🎸✊🏽💪🏽💜

The song was written for a live performance. So if you like the album version then you’d love it live! They’re very professional.

Biggest grower for me and it’s amazing live
how can you sit completly still when listening to this fab song????
The lead singer is from Germany
this is why we watch and enjoy eurovision...🧡💛💚💙💜🤎 great unique songs full of creativity...and full of suprises... what a great beautiful anthem
I like the song a lot, and anyway any country that sends something as cool as prog metal gets points from me. It's in my top 10.
This is the winner right here.
The bass guitars used by Alex Canion are made by the Mayones company which is based in Poland.

@@dk240996 I may upload a short sometime of the part of our video where I tell the viewers y'all probably won't even get to see it. 😀
It's a nice song, plus it competes in the bum semi-final so I think it qualifies easily if the live performance is decent
One of the biggest contenders of the second semifinal.
I ain’t sure how this is going to do in the grand final though.
Love them! My nr 2 this year ❤️❤️❤️
The live version was even better!
Just because someone screams/growls in a song doesn’t mean it’s “screamo”.
Watching sleepy dog makes me sleepy
Happy Easter!
Did you see the PrePartyES 2023?
Happy Easter! I haven't seen any of the pre parties yet just because we have 9 more songs to hear. SOOOOON

Australia never disappoints! Still sorry Montaigne didn't win.
The lead singer was born and raised in Germany
12 points for the hair.
I cannot imagine wishing to hear it outside of Eurovision, but it will add something to the show(s).

Why don't you watch the euro vision version it sounds totally the same, worth watching.
LOLing at 3:44 , loved it😂
It’s the best performance, however, the voting and time difference disadvantages Australia. Abba was a band. I’m really tired of solo singers.
Comparing Voyager to Nickelback is quiet possibly the most out of this world, does not make sense thing i have heard recently.

among the most useless reactions you got the 1st prize for grooming dogs and smiling at each other
Dami vs. Loreen woulda been EPIC! Stupid SBS had to ruin it by sending Intelligent Music Project From Down Under 2.0.
What a stupid comment
As a Bulgarian, I'm offended by that comparison. Voyager are so much better than Intelligent Music Project could ever be.
I'll take "Really Shit Takes" for $200, thanks Alex.
