That new Mogami is perfect for RAN tier 2 and mine warfare. Fantastic affordable light patrol Frigate with low crew. It could also play an escort role for our LHDs, provide naval gunfire support and mine warfare support for the LHD and embarked forces. Maybe even have some tomahawks in the VLS as well.
FFM is apt for independent or single ship missions due to superstealth + mothership ability. And since the new FFM is heavier + improved AAW, the frigate mothership revolution pushes forward again. Hopefully its anti-asymmetric ability will be further improved
It's cool seeing the Cape class with upgrades here. I know my country Trinidad & Tobago purchases a few of them for our Coast Guard. Seeing them with added armaments would be badass.
The Australian Light Frigate design by Gibbs and Cox in the previous video looks like a great fit for the tier 2 ships. Also the Meko A300 ships. Both are heavily armed for their size.
Would it make more sense to have the fwd gun fitted as standard on every A L Cape class. Enemies are not likely to give advanced warning of attacking patrol class vessels OR wait while they return to port to have guns and missiles fitted. War is not cricket dear chap.

MK 41 VLS alot of nations use them, seems to not be so popular in Europe. They like ships that cost as little as possible, so they like their own single shot VLS.

Why is Malaysia's LCS Maharaja Lela ship not shown here? they have the most advanced technology that any human-made radar cannot detect, they call the ship Halimunan
They are no different than any other navy ship, don't let your self go blind with wordings like "STEALTH" etc. it doesn't mean it cannot be detected, only that it's looks/signature is changed a bit on radar. But still visible. And it is not Malaysia that build them, it's France that build them for Malaysia. And it is only up to France DCNI to chose to export them or not, not Malaysia. No ships cannot be detected. Every single ship on the sea can be detected, all they can do, is reduce it's signature.
I do not understand why Europen Nations don't build heavily armed ships like this one. This frigate is more heavily armed than many European destroyers..
@admiralmallard7500 32 VLS when every other destroyer carriers close to 100 missles. We have witnessed saturation attacks recently. 48 missles would be used up in a moment and there are only 6 destroyers in the British military.
@@corey8420 And there's only 2 in the French navy, your point? Who is paying for the additional VLS cells, its more expensive to build ships in Europe, meaning less money available for arming the vessels.

No they didn't close it to early, they changed requirement for the class and also wanted to do improvement to the design, thus they stopped it at 12 ships, and build 12 more of an modified version, giving them 24 ships, then the original 22 ordered. @@augustofernandez1999umm maybe if there over 40-50 years old they would probably sell you the model of that frigate.

Just order a few units of Mogami for SRN, they sure can be a big help in patrolling around the island water.🤗
