I calibrated my epson v 850 but I still need tons of sharpness to get the same result as a paper print with my enlarger. Imacon Flex is $ 20'000 nowadays. I will do your tips, I need black borders
It's true the V850 scans and delivers a fairly flat dull looking image that can give the impression of it not being very sharp. But this is a good thing in so much that it allows you to up the contact to your liking whilst maintaining optimum dynamic range. Sorry, I wasn't suggesting you purchase or buy an Imacan because as you say they are extremely expensive. However, there are places in many countries that allow you to visit and hire one for an afternoon. And if you're brave enough there are people who own them and will offer a service of scanning them for you..
@@mattbentley-walls3106 no, I just meant to compare Epson and Imacon. I have access to a Flex for cheap but I dont scan for pro use and I still have my darkroom. Thank for confirmation about sharpness
Thank you so much
More than welcome. If you have any suggestions you'd like me to rattle on about, feel free.
@@mattbentley-walls3106 As a fun philosophical topic, would you ditch your film Leica for a Leica monochrom ?
I also gonna update my Plustek scanner's film holder to get borders.
Which film and developer do you use?
