I will never accept how it ended. It was one of the most disappointing endings I have ever experienced and I usually like how things end, but not this one!
Fr the movie was really really good, everything was literally so well done, but then they yaknow, (spoilers) and that just one aspect of the movies end ruins the majority of the series, i think the reason it pisses me off personally is because it goes against the series main theme, destiny, and many, and I mean many episodes setting it up, and one in particular where he hadn't taken the amulet and literally everyone died, because he's the troll hunter and even if he's staring death down he's still going to pick up a weapon and run into battle headfirst, Toby will die the first day, he grows later on, he has the skills to survive and fight back, Toby is a fearsome warrior. And he's really good with that gravity defying hammer which he incorporates so well into his fighting style, but it's reset, he can't even climb a rope yet, and he hasn't had any weapon training unlike Jim, Jim is going to watch everyone die over and over again and this time it will be his fault, because ughhhhh
I suggest a fanfic called Your Future hasn't been written yet. It starts after the movie ended and it made me feel a lot better about that end because it ensured that Jim's sacrifices still mattered and he wasn't undermined.

Fun fact: The original ending for ROTT was a time skip that hadJim, Toby, and Claire heading off to college but Netflix executives thought it would be "anticlimactic" so they had it changed.
I never had a problem with the ending of the trollhunters movie. The tales of Arcadia was a great adventure from start to finish, and technically the movie's ending was just a new beginning for everyone. The guardians of Arcadia will still end up uniting in Arcadia, even if their history will change. It wouldn't be the first time that the franchise has had to deal with a reset in its story. Despite any resets, the guardians of Arcadia always end up uniting together one way or another. I think Jim's role in the story now is to make sure it ends the best way it can. Jim's still a hero, but in a different way.
You do make a very good point about the resets previously but the reason people found the ending to be horrible is because it essentially wiped out all the build up that happened across all 3 shows. Because Jim has to start over it just doesn’t seem fitting but you do make good points!

If I am being honest, I would have preferred that they didn't reset everything that happened in the series, but like I said, it isn't the first time this franchise. Plus, the guardians of Arcadia will still unite. It's been proven with each reset of the timeline, despite changes in history. This reset also doesn't apply to Jim, as we both know. Jim remembers, and will clearly use that knowledge for the best future he can.
