Does your midpipe connect to the SQTT without any gap ? I have this exhaust and it doesn’t fully connect without a small gap. Had multiple shops look At it. I’m referring to where the gasket/flange connect with the midpipe
Great comparison. The GWR SS really comes alive and sounds sportier at the higher revs and open throttle runs. Its designed to be quieter and less bassy at the lower revs. Factoring in the pricier costs of the JDL header and the Remark exhaust, the GWR axel back options are tremendous value and a fraction of the cost like 1/5th of the Remark/JDL combo. Also the GWR roadster sport Race is louder, more aggressive and cheaper.
I have a 2021 MX-5 GT and I'm looking for a more aggressive sound during acceleration, but I'm not a fan of highway drone, especially since the soft top already lets tons of noise in. I just want nice sounding acceleration, but with minimal cruising drone.
I had a cadillac cts, but sold it because of gas mileage was not so acceptable. So went to get a low mileage 2010 E92 no turbo, 60,000 miles from a older gentleman who could no longer drive the car. He was the original owner of the car. It was parked in the garage for 8 month's..I changed the oil, plugs, Trans fluid, ect. because reading a lot of tyings about the BMW the 328i is the ticket, the one. And they were right this car, I said this car runs just great and it's pretty fast. Anyway thanks bud. You should try one lowered. High-performance machine..!
Remark wins hands down. Stock is cheap sounding, SS is wayyy too extreme, sound like a v8 which isn't characteristic of it's small size. The Remark captures that quintessential small sporty car you'd see in a 1950s James Bond movie. Humble but intimidating, like something serious is under the hood. I love how miata's feign this but they still outperforming most super-cars in "drive-ability" (able to daily, comfort, fun-factor). #slowcarfast
Great video guys! I went with Borla exhaust for my 2022 MX-5.. just took the car back to shop to put on the stock exhaust back. Borla sounds amazing on cold start and when driving hard but even at cruising speeds the drone on it gave me headaches and got annoying after two weeks. I went with Borla because I had 2022 Mustang GT that came with Borla active exhaust and it sounded like a dream, so I thought Borla’s product would work great here as well. Bit too loud for my taste, you know it’s too loud when cars behind you slow down to keep a longer distance. I’ll keep searching for a better option.
Damn this is a hard choice. The remark definitely has the cleaner tone. And i honestly think it's quiter than the ss. But i like the sound of the ss and i like loud
Fantastic video! I think the Remark sounds throatier and a touch louder. I have the JDL 4-1 header and the JDL midpipe and muffler sitting in my garage. I need to install them!
Very through and well done video on the three exhaust systems. I've got a RF and I'm debating which exhaust to throw on her. I've been going back and forth between the Greddy, and the Remark. I like the deep exhaust note the Remark puts out. Thanks for the video.
I got a 2020 Nd was thinking what to do to make my lil puppy louder, originally was thinking about doing a muffler delete but still unsure... thanks for any tips and advice!
So wait, was GWR SSST also with the JDL Header or was it stock midpipe AND stock header? I ask cause this is the first video I've seen saying the GWR SSST has drone and was wondering if that's just with the axle-back or in combination with those headers. Great video! Very helpful!
@@JetFuelOnly Thanks for getting back to me. I guess that's where the drone's coming from with the SSST. Still though, the sound it makes at 07:48 is fantastic!
Does anyone know where I can get a vid of inside the car at highway speeds w/ the top up? I'd like to see how the SS sounds at 65mph, 75mph etc for long commutes.
I think you have your remark and SS setups switched throughout the video. Remark only makes a single tip and the SS has a dual tip. Unless Remarks older exhaust had dual?
Great video. Do you know why is says applicable only up to 2020? Has the oem axle back changed in 2021? I have a 2023 and would like to be sure what fits. My muffler looks identical to the one in your video, but some items for the ND1 seem to not fit the ND2... Anyone know the differences?
Are you reading that on the website or did we say it? If you are reading it - Vince and I haven’t been keeping up on changes to the model since the video so you might want to ask the seller.
Thanks for this review... i am curios as to what model the Remark exhaust is.... the one I saw in their website is a single pipe outlet version for the ND
@@JetFuelOnly thank you! Did you have to roll or pull the fenders to make those fit? Or was that camber enough to avoid rubbing? Do you have a video that goes over suspension mods? That would be cool. Thank you
@@YetTheory You only need to roll the rear fenders to get 245s to fit but you’ll also need a lot of camber. If you don’t want to run a lot of camber I’d stick with 225s or 235 max.
You neglected to include the driving environment that makes a lot of people regret buying an aftermarket pipe: Cruising at 70, top up, on the freeway, around 3000 rpm. Is the replacement pipe resonating loudly during your daily commute? Or is it droning? Either is too high a price to pay for the opportunity to impress strangers with your sporty pipe.
@default Im doubtful on the no drone . I cant tell you how many times i heard that claim made . This is my first miata ( nd) but i had about 11 mustangs and every time someone claimed no drone there definitely was. Maybe "not as bad as you would think"......
No. A cat-back exhaust means from the catalytic converter to the back of the car. The cat is the emissions element and what you don’t want to mess with if that’s what you are worried about (also illegal in many states). An axle back is an exhaust mod that starts at approx the rear axle which is even farther from the car (which is located just behind the front axle area usually).
No, the owner didn’t do that. But it’s been a couple years now and I was speaking to him the other day. He said he had a chance to drive someone else’s car and there was a clear difference but he couldn’t feel it when it was first done.
@@JetFuelOnly No doubt...At low speed and low RPM the aftermarket exhausts definitely sound better, but as soon as you accelerate and get to highway speed they become annoying. I'd much rather hear my music than listen to the drone of a 4 cylinder. These cars have enough road noise; adding a constant fart sounding, drone is not appealing in any way. Now a V-8 is a completely different thing, although one has to consider others when building their engines and exhausts. There are far too many people with loud exhausts and I don't need to be one of those. Loud Harley's and kids with four bangers seem to be the least aware of the disturbance they cause, more so than anybody else. Installing a loud exhaust doesn't make your car a race car, it's not appealing to most folks and it does not help your resale value; in fact it can make your car hard to sell or trade in and can drive down resale value.
after 3:00 the audio quality took a nose dive. everything got super muffled and muted. was this edited in or your microphone rig? (listening on a pair of Kanto TUK's)
It seems this car wouldn't need to hang so much in like 3rd going up a hill. Obviously if you drive like that any car will sound loud. Whatever exhaust people put on these, the single pipe looks shit and should stick to the twin as per what they come with,. Suits the car much better. The Remark sounds the best.
