Agree! We get so bogged down in such expansive ideas that are so hard to tackle, that it's hard to remember what we're capable of. Small things can boost us and expand our strengths in more manageable ways.

those mini sanders sides episodes are some of my favorites! the lore is amazing, but i love my connection to the characters just as much :)
I truly love this community and this fandom, mainly because the writer, created and director of this series is so open and close to his audience, and when you're wondering about stuff most other fandoms will have to literally pray to get answers for, there's the big guy himself, telling you about why production has been slow, and that makes all the delays and the lack of content so much more bearable, knowing that he's trying his best and that he's gonna talk to his fandom about certain situations directly. Long live Thomas sanders, the best man on UA-cam 💙

9:19 It’s so inspiring to see how much Thomas has grown this year. Refinding self confidence is so difficult and I’m so thankful he decided to share it with us. I have gone through a similar health condition that affects my appearance heavily this year, having to learn how to not care about what I look like and honestly I’ve just avoided looking at myself, pretending like it doesn’t exist. But seeing Thomas take a good look at his self confidence with his condition makes me feel like I can too. Thank you Thomas for being so brave and open about your journey with finding self confidence!!

One of my personal success was going to therapy for the first time and just- talking it out with someone else who genuinely cared. One of my failures was- I was not able to keep a job for more than a month, because of the cold water effect- after two years of not working and going into the job, without taking care of my own person first. I was unaware of the changes in the education environment that had occurred during and over the 3 years I had not worked. But I am seeing this as an opportunity to work on myself and make me a better person, so I can go in and teach the littles, while hopefully making them better people.
I know you don’t need a random stranger saying this, but congratulations on going to therapy! You should be proud of taking such a step. I know life can be hard. With school, and working, and just trying to take care of yourself, but you’ll get there.
That is a HUGE success and I am so proud of you

As another writer, one of the best pieces of advice given to me was “don’t write the work you think everyone wants to read (or in your case watch), write the work you want to read.” I struggled with that a lot in my current novel, which is why it’s taking so long because there’s so much that I only had in there to satisfy my readers or avoid what they won’t like (almost exclusively my family lol). All this to say, I get it and the most important thing about your art is that you enjoy making it. I’ll keep on supporting you and you’ve been one of the post positive internet influencers I engage with. Thank you for your help in my own mental health and best wishes to your own journey!

Edit: asides videos are so amazing, i love them so much, they're so character driven which is enticing because it's what us people LOVE to psychoanalyze. And sometimes we need a break from plot to enjoy the beach episodes you know?
I've been through those feelings for my artwork too and it takes a lot to be like hey ok I don't need to internalize all the negatives, I'm also doing this for me because its what I enjoy. And it's weird when all those feelings hit you! I'm glad you've been able to figure all this out!
It's so good to feel connected to your work again, I've been trying to get there myself and this video gives me hope.

It's great that you both acknowledged your successes and recognized your shortcomings. That's really big of you. Some creators struggle with recognizing and acknowledging when their flaws show. You'll never be perfect cuz no one can be, but being able to say, "Hey, my bad," is a wonderful thing to do. I hope the fanders give you more grace as well, cuz God damnit you deserve it. i think i can speak for a lot of us when i say that regardless of how large-scale the sanders sides episodes are, a huge portion of us will still enjoy the content you bring and still love the art you offer us even purely on the merit of it being something you worked hard on, apart from the fact that your writing and presentation of the things you make is so full of personality on its own. your work without joan is different, of course it is, but it is by no means worth less because of that. your creative spirit and love for these characters is what continues to draw me in over and over and over again even as the years pass. you have so much to offer, thomas, and we will always appreciate you sharing so much of yourself and spreading both the positive and the more realistic vibes. we love you, man ❤️

When my chorus decided to do a Disney Pride concert as well as my ensemble doing our own solo show at the beginning of the year, meaning I had to prepare 40 songs in 3 months, only to then be asked (within the next 2 months) to choreograph and teach 3 dance routines having never choreographed before, plus work on production team stuff for that show…
…there was no way I could just internalize my fear and bulldoze through it. I just had to say multiple times “y’all I’m freaking TF out here, this is so much work, I don’t know how I’m going to do this” out loud to my chorus and cast mates. That enabled me to acknowledge that I WAS doing the work already, take a breath, ask for help (I had two other choreographers working on that show, I just took logistical control for us all to work it out), and continue on. I even admitted in our cast circle before our shows in June that it wasn’t until after dress rehearsal that I felt my body unclench and actually enjoy the work I put in.
In one week, my chorus is starting rehearsals for a full Broadway themed show, with a VERY special guest artist that I’m still shocked is working with us, and not gonna lie, the set list alone is a BEHEMOTH. But after this year, I’m looking forward to the challenge, because I know I have the skills and fortitude for it, but also the GRACE to afford myself when I am overwhelmed.

Throughout the entire years of tears, fears, and random fandom discourse, I can say you've made us smile a lot this year! The Asides episodes were so fun to see again! Virgil not liking Other Anxiety (what we call the Anxiety from Inside Out 2), and the Secret Santa with the dark Sides. And, of course, all the Shorts and other shenanigans we've seen from you! Picani was so nice to see again.
You may have failed in some areas, but you've 100% succeeded in many other areas as well.
Either way, no matter the creations you put out there or if there's a 'lack of' posted content, we still enjoy being here. The fandom is generally kind and fun to be around, you're a comfort creator to a lot of us, and most importantly: *ya don't have to produce anything to have worth.*
May this new year bring more highs than lows, and a wonderful continuation in healing :D

This year was definitely a weird year! In the Span of one year, One of my best friends passed away, I found out I was chosen to Sing at Carnegie hall in New York City, I had two seizures, I told my crush i liked him for a second time, AND I managed to write a full on screenplay for a short story i had made in class one day. Can't Wait for 2024!

Life was really getting in the way and I didn’t believe anything I came up with would’ve been good enough. But you being you makes me realize that sometimes you gotta keep having fun and doing your best!

I completely understand what it’s like to have to stop and feel devastation at how little hair I have - sometimes on half of my head. This is such a hopeful video for me. I haven't written anything in _years,_ initially because of my depression, but now it's more because of the guilt I feel about my readers waiting so long, which made me fall out of love with writing. It's nice knowing that someone else has gotten out of that rut, because that means there is a way out.
