I’m 72 and have the basic. I’ve been living in Thailand since my retirement but after the passing of my brother I made a new beneficiary which was approved. The problem is the person is a Thai national. It seems two forms FE-6 and W-8BEN has to be filled out. This seems a lot of hassle for a person that has no business affiliation with me and is just a close friend. I’m also having a hard time on some of the wording that’s used. I’ve never been married and have no property. Is there any form for a foreign national that’s simple to understand after I pass away?
I just retired from Postal Service 6/1/2023 and decided to keep the Basic LI premium. They also have me under Post Retirement FEGLI but I canceled this because it would cost me $175.50 per month. In your opinion was that the right thing to do? Just keep the Basic insurance?
There is no way I can tell u if that was the right or wrong decision but I can tell u that the majority of retirees elect to have their basic reduced by 75% in retirement
How does FEGELI with Disability Retirement? Never got any clear answers for my agency HR.( USPS)
you should still be able to continue it
I just hired at Usps can u make a vedio to explain the various options of FEGLI

as a postal employee you don't pay any premiums for the Basic coverage

I'd say that's a question that only OPM would be able to answer
@@FederalRetirementPlanning Thank you!
