In my reactions, I show you my initial reaction (or fangirling) to music videos/songs. I sometimes also comment about technical aspects, or the production of the video if anything such stands out to me. I am not trying to delve into meanings, I only want to share my initial thoughts and explain how I think they achieved things and why, in my personal opinion, they work or don't work.
I give honest but always respectful feedback and would never trash talk or hate on any group/artist/filmmaker/song/etc., if my comments come off like I am, that is not my intention. This is all for fun and education's sake so please don't take it too seriously. 😊

Taemin often has several different layers to his lyrics. There's the surface layer that you can take at face value or peel a way the surface to find the hidden gem beneath.
For "Advice" there are two layers. The first is addressing saesangs (toxic fans) and haters. The second layer is much deeper and requires that you understand the concepts and premise of his 2020 full-length, 2-part album, "Never Gonna Dance Again". The concepts for that album centered around his own personal conflicts and struggles which he talked about in a few interviews during the promotions for the album.
"Advice" is actually the epilogue of NGDA. The entire NGDA album (Acts 1 & 2) storyline begins the journey of two egos within Taemin's mind fighting for supremacy. The conflict begins with the concept of Stockholm syndrome with "Criminal" (Act 1), where we see the initial split of the two egos with the celebrity ego ("criminal") trying to control the authentic real Taemin ("victim") who struggles with his yearning for a perfect "Taemin" and continues into "IDEA" (Act 2) where we see Taemin begin to realize that there is an "other" more perfect being outside himself (a Messiah) who can make him into the perfect version of TAEMIN (part of Plato's Theory of Forms - Allegory of the Cave).
"Advice" is the newly resurrected Taemin who will now take full control of his life and career. The innocent and naive youngster who began his career at 14 and was told what to do and when to do it by the company, is now a 28 year-old MAN and will take his own advice. Although he began to assert some control over his solo work beginning in 2015 with his "Press Your Number" album, the NGDA album is the first album where he took the reins of control away from his company...and they let him. Taemin was the one who chose the production company (unheard of in Kpop where the idol is usually assigned a production company) and essentially acted as the co-director and co-producer as well. He rearranged lyrics, music, had input on the set and costume designs. In short, his fingerprints are in every nook and cranny of that album as well. This should tell SM something. Just let the man go and do his thing. It appears that once Taemin returns from his military service, he will continue to assert his control over his music going forward, just as he controlled the movements of the dancers at the end of the MV.
To me the lyrics are pointed towards his haters (surprisingly he has some…) and in general towards different people who try to judge him and give him some advice not really knowing who he is as an artist and as a man. Korean society and Kpop industry is very judgmental towards idols and Taemin has been through a lot when he was younger, before he embraced his androgynous appearance and consciously decided to make it one of his assets. So it’s basically like a statement saying: I don’t give an f, you can judge me all you want, but I’m just gonna do me!
I really love this song and MV. Like you noticed it’s more aggressive than the Taemin we’re used to, but on the other hand, if you’ll go through his discography you’ll notice his style of music changes and he loves trying new things. I have no idea if my interpretation is correct but I think the advice he is talking about is the things that the public say about him as a celebrity and what they "advise" him to do without knowing him at all... and I feel like the whole chess theme going on with the black vs white dancers is the "critics" vs "his fans" and Taemin is swayed by both, but ultimately wants to make his own choices

TAEMIN represents what cannot be precisely defined in the approach to gender and role playing in the MV music video, and the choreography is so multidimensional and unpredictable that it is difficult to classify it into a specific genre.
I am impressed that it pushes the boundaries once again and does not allow itself to be pigeonholed
The piano he identifies with, women's clothing, makeup, and even some choreographies have been mixed to reflect the masculine and feminine aspect, and shows a beautiful tattoo that previously hid and symbolized freedom

Thank God in the comments that I am not the only one who understands Advice. His enlistment is a huge growing and learning experience from the Lord for him.
This song is taemin saying stop the hate and gossip he will just take he own advice. The part where he is hanging in mid air he says is this the drama you wanted your getting it twisted again. His lock is I think know one will ever get into his mind. And the part he says he will destroy the torso your chasing. If you look at his torso he has a tattoo on it. Recently I have been very busy with some personal stuff. Life is getting harder for me these days. I mean, I'm facing some deep changes and taking big decisions for myself for the first time ever.
So in that sense, TaeMin's song is really comforting for me. When it came out I loved the choreo and music, but know I'm paying more attention to the concept and lyrics thanks to your reaction and the comments here.

I’m very sorry to hear about life being difficult right now, I can certainly relate to that. I wish you strength and confidence in your decision making. Ademas que en este álbum como en todos el puso gran parte de sus ideas,mostrándonos otro lado distinto de él segun nos explico en Vlive y demas en vivos.
El piano es el intrumento que TAEMIN incorporó en el Mv de Advice ya que el contó es un instrumento que lo representa. Además de que él toca el piano si buscan hay presentaciones donde aparece con el.
La canción / letra se trata básicamente de seguir tus propios consejos en lugar de los de otros que no te entienden, pero siguen criticando, hablando mal, diciéndote qué hacer y metiéndote en una caja con expectativas, etc. una pista de disgusto para los que odian, los medios de comunicación y probablemente la autoridad a lo largo de su carrera que intentó empujar / limitar su arte en una dirección diferente a la que él mismo quería. Y sobre todo esto en sus inicios a taemin le solían llamar el sin oido porque para los demás el solo era un buen bailarin y nada más. Ademas de los prejuicios que las personas tenian con sobre forma de ser ya que desierta forma (lo digo sin ánimos de ofender,o molestar a alguien) pero no encuentro otra forma de describirlo pero lo feminisaban mucho al punto de hacerlo sentir incómodo y mal con respecto a eso,según él lo supo expresar por eso esta canción muestra como el tomó todo lo malo,para motivarse a ser mejor y demostrar que sin importar lo que los demás digan o lo que se interponga el haría lo contrario, es decir, lo que el crea y considere correcto.Al igual que la línea en el coro sobre la destrucción de un torso se puede interpretar como que él se niega a inclinar todo su torso hacia los demás que esperan que los obedezca o también como cómo recientemente se tatuó el torso cuando todos quieren o esperan hagan "puro / limpio" y todo eso
