Aw…when my late basset, Abraham, was a puppy, he used to make the same whining noises and lie down so we could pick him up and carry him everywhere. Because he was so cute, it worked every time (at least until he got to be too big to carry). RIP, Abraham. You weren’t very smart. But you had a heart of gold. I’d give anything to be able to carry you everywhere again.
The first Basset puppy I ever saw on someone’s lawn was all ears and all roly-poly skin! He was cute, playful and goofy. When he ran towards me, he was tripping on his long ears! To my surprise, when I pulled on his loose skin on the scruff of his neck, I easily pulled a foot of floppy skin and his feet never left the ground! He acted like he never felt anything! Then, he tripped over his ear and flopped on the ground for a belly rub! He was an adorable, happy, puppy and he made my day! That was over 40 years ago and that encounter still makes me smile!
If a puppy came up to you wanting a belly rub and you're literally saying you wouldn't pet it because you don't know it or it's owner, I'm gonna have to say that you sound like a serial killer. Like that's just creepy and weird

@@kylezo Yes a Mack truck ran a stop sign 1st bad day of my life the 2nd was the day we buried them, Dixie was 4.5 & Jim was 22 months, that’s a bad day. I just hope that you never have to do what I did, it sucks.

I’ve owned a lot of breeds during my childhood and adulthood, from Eskies to Rottweilers. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a sponge cake of a dog before. Awfully adorable little fellow. I can just feel him in my arms!

I gave my dad a bassett hound puppy for fathers day once. He loved him so much. He was the most adorable puppy his ears were so long he would step on them when we tried to run . But he grew and we all loved him.
Probably they disliked the video because such small puppies should stay with their mother and siblings for at least the first eight weeks. Separating them too early can cause trauma and other issues.
He walked at least six steps! Mission accomplished!
