Earl, king of the laid back grooves!
Thanks for the feedback Thomas! 🤘🏻🙏🏻👍🏻
Great choice. I did this for my mom when she passed a year ago. She always sung it around the house when she did housework. Your version sounds amazing.
That’s awesome Keith … I need to check that out! Have a great day!
So tastefully done, Earl, and the electric toms are so cool, and as usual, your tom work is impeccable. What a cool ending too.Thank you for being here every morning when I get up
I try Greg … my backlog of videos has dwindled! But I love sharing passion with this small world of drummers!
This was my dad's favorite song. He had the 45 by Roy Orbison and would play it over and over. He passed away when I was 12. Thank you for a beautiful cover of this song! Loved it! 👍😀🙏
Thanks for the feedback and story Elaine! Music really does help us to remember! So sorry for your loss at such a young age!
Earl, opening the hihat on the 3 for a 1/4 note duration really give the groove a beautiful lilt and then coming in with the syndrum is the crowning glory !!!!!
I tried to cop the original part … I think it was Russ Kunkel on drums! I loved that syndrum sound, but it came and went really fast! Thanks for watching Walton! Cheers my friend!
L'ikee 10 for this performance 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌😎 Nice Work My friend 🤘 Have a Great weekend 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the feedback Su! I appreciate it! 🤘🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🥁
Such pretty drum sounds/ Bravo
Thanks for the feedback Robert! 🤘🏻🙏🏻👍🏻🥁
Fantastic cover, Earl... awesome drumming and very well job, my friend !!! 😎🙋🏻♂🥁
Thanks for the feedback as always Paco! 🤘🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🥁
Great playing Earl. This is the kind of song I find hard to play as I have to keep the idea in my head to not hit a crash cymbal at the end of the bar.
Jessica that crash cymbal problem is something I still work on today! That’s how I was taught to play, fill then crash! But a lot of studio drummers left the crash off for reasons of reducing the offensive high pitched sound to ears of the listener! So I know what you mean!
So nicely done as always!!!!
Thanks for the feedback my friend! Have a great day John!
One of my favourites singers from the 70’s, along with Jackson Browne, Eagles and Bonnie Raitt.
Like the electronic drum head accents.
Beautifully played Earl.
Enjoy your Saturday!
Excellent job Earl!!!! You rock!!!!
Thanks for the feedback Bryan! 🙏🏻👍🏻🤘🏻🥁
Right on point Earl! I liked how you added in the electronics too.
Thanks for the feedback Matthew! 🤘🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🥁
Nice use of the e-drums!! It all sounds really good and your drumming was awesome as always!!
Thanks for the feedback Zax! 🤘🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
i used the old syndrum on the boo boo sound , worked with a great singer Ronda Hart , she could sing this good , nice track Earl !
Thanks for the feedback Eddie! I always wanted syndrums and Simmons drums! But I could not afford then back in the day! But I have some samples that will have to do for now with the modern SPDSX and a few edrum pads!
Very cool setup! Nice work Earl!
Thanks for watching Adam! 👍🏻🙏🏻🤘🏻🥁

Good.

Double thank you! 🙏🏻👍🏻🤘🏻🙏🏻👍🏻🤘🏻🙏🏻👍🏻🤘🏻🥁🥁🥁🥁
@@earldrum 👍🤩
Very nice Earl! Love the edrums!
Hey, if I removed my resonant heads from my toms, would I essentially have concert sounding toms or just toms without bottom heads? Thanks
Mickey you would have the sound of concert toms! But still double headed drums! 😂😁🥁🙏🏻
Hell yeah, there’s a fun cover of this by Phish sung by drummer Fishman. On Spotify it’s a sound check
I’ll have to find that one someday! Thanks for the feedback my friend! 🤘🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
Hey, Earl- great cover of a great song.
What kind of drum groove would you consider this? I'm a singer-songwriter and am currently working on a demo for a song with a similar feel, but have been racking my brain trying to nail down the right groove with samples.
It’s a half time calypso beat … it’s got a big time feel. 1 (2) a (3) 4. I don’t know if that helps? Thanks for watching
@@earldrum awesome! I really appreciate it and look forward to watching more of your videos.
