I know most stans don't like this scene but I think it was a good intention on sakura's part, from her point of view naruto is chasing sasuke because of naruto's promise to bring him back sasuke 3 years ago .
Now that sasuke had become a terrorist she wanted naruto to stop chasing sasuke as it gets him in trouble naruto against other villages, she wanted to protect naruto in self.
The execution is bad but the intention is good.

Yes but tbf, the scene isn’t total trash. This scene shows just how much Sakura actually does care about Naruto, even if her way of showing it was messed up.
She was willing to give up her friendship and have Naruto hate her for the rest of his life, if that meant that Naruto would forget about the promise he made to her and gave up on trying to bring back Sasuke and be safe in Konoha.
@@thehighground7926 about that.... what was the point of "confessing her love" to Naruto? Why not just leave at her wanting him to drop the promise he made? This scene felt like manipulation at its core but Naruto didn't go for it. This is made even worse when we find out instead of Naruto going after Sasuke and probably putting up a much even fight, Sakura thought she'd go instead.... WHAT!?
What made her believe she (a. would stand a chance against Sasuke) and (b. That Naruto wouldn't have *STILL* gone after Sasuke even if he thought Sakura's confession was real? )
If she got killed by Sasuke, that would have given Naruto even more motivation to go after him. This plan of her's was not well thought out.
@@shangarbagio the reason that she confessed her love to Naruto is because she thought he was king everything to get Sasuke back to Konoha because he loved her and wanted to her to be happy, which meant getting Sasuke back, as that’s what Naruto said to before he left to go get him during the Sasuke retrieval arc. And it felt like manipulation because it was. She was gonna do that to get Naruto away from Sasuke, especially since Danzo gave the okay to kill him, and he left to go speak to the Raikage of all people.
And Sakura didn’t get Naruto to come with them to fight/kill Sasuke because of the response he gave her. When he told her that it wasn’t about the promise, and he understood and genuinely wanted Sasuke to come back and quit what he’s doing, she decided not to involve him because it would make him sad. She was willing to take being hated by Naruto if it meant that he was safe and not going into Akatsuki infested territory for Sasuke.
And for your question, why thought she would stand a chance again Sasuke, she didn’t. That’s why she was going to use her poison kunai to stab him. She was going to kill because she loved him and didn’t want to see him go down that path. The only thing that messed her up is that when it was actually time to kill him, she couldn’t because she still loved him, and that Sasuke had immunity to poison.
She thought he wouldn’t go after Sasuke anymore because she assumed he was doing it just because of the promise he made to her. When Sai told her how Naruto felt, he specifically mentioned the promise and nothing else, that’s why she thought that. If he was doing all that just because he knew she loved Sasuke, then if she loved him instead of Sasuke, he wouldn’t feel the need to keep going after him. All of this was very much explained the show, and it’s very easy to infer for yourself if you paid close enough attention to detail. I don’t think you should say her plan wasn’t well thought out because you got a lot of stuff about her plan wrong, so that’s based off of misguided/misinformed reasons
@@thehighground7926....You wrote all this and still didn't explain nor answer anything. I saw the retrieval arc. I also saw the sad realization before that that no matter what Naruto did, Sakura's choice was always Sasuke. "Make him sad!?" Like I mentioned earlier, if she went to kill Sasuke, and he wound up killing her instead, Naruto (who presumably bought Sakura's lie) would have more motivation to go after Sasuke. Either way, Naruto wasn't gonna stop, so it was pointless to assume Sakura's "love" would have changed the outcome. Asking him to stop and literally playing on his emotions had the same result so it was no need to go that far. Everything about that plan was executed poorly.

But I do agree that she should’ve just told him to stop with the promise.

This scene really showed the weak in sakura and how she couldn't read the situation.

I think actually in this scene Naruto was very heartbroken. When the woman you love pretends to love you, is the most painful thing.
Sakura's feeling hurts more. the man she loves must die and her friend is in danger. his teacher is dying and will be replaced by danzo. Then he was accused of being the cause of Naruto's suffering. as if Naruto's suffering all this time was because of Sakura. not Sakura who sealed the monster in Naruto's body

He's saved your life damn near almost every day, prevented you from getting killed by Sasuke twice, prevented you dying as a kid, loved you, did basically everything to impress you, and you still treated him like garbage. (I know the true meaning behind the damn thing and seen the whole series, but this scene pisses me off till this day, dont even get me started on the swing scene I was ready to jump her 💀) Naruto should have left her ass to die. 😭

What people hate about Sakura the most in this episode is how she underestimated Naruto's maturity... She thought that a simple confession of her love can move Naruto, though it could've had happened if it was before but Sakura is too late now. Its not just about the promise anymore, its not even about Sasuke coming back anymore, its a ninja wanting to let a fellow ninja know that they can share the pain cuz they're friends.
in fact it was canon that Naruto underestimated the maturity of Sakura. Sai himself said. this big problem precisely because of naruto who started it, then sai's misunderstanding got sakura involved.

Controversial opinion, but this scene/Sakura isn’t total trash. If anything, this scene goes to show how much Sakura really does care for Naruto, because she’s willing to give up her friendship with Naruto if that means that he forgets about his promise he made to her about Sasuke, and that he goes back to the village and is safe, while Sasuke just goes deeper into the darkness and does more criminal activity
Sakura being a selfish child. Sure she wants to keep Naru safe, but confessing while constantly saying Sasuke this and that... Both boys deserve better than small brain and zero EQ Sakura. The writer really gutted her character here. Why did she think confessing her love would stop Naruto??? The world does not revolve around you, girl! Grow up like Naruto and Sasuke did! The difference between Sakura's mind and heart from Naruto. It shows that Naruto has grown so much. PLUS, he genuinely wants to save Sasuke not just because of her. This scene is soooo humiliating for Sakura. I don't care if you say she's being "brave." She's a selfish child who does not truly understand Naruto's mind and heart and constantly pining over someone who did not demonstrate the same kind of affection. It's a creepy stalkerish behavior.

i kinda understand sakura's feeling. i mean she made naruto promised her to bring sasuke back and because of that promise (sai thought) naruto was suffering. and sakura tried to put herself in naruto's shoes and she understand him. i mean i know that sakura love naruto (as her friend ofc) but man, i just cant believe she lied like that. but i respect it but just cant believe it when i saw this in the manga.

This scene was not a lie. Mangaka said that he wanted to portray an honest and stubborn girl for this scene. If we think about it, everything Sakura said is true. Naruto didn't believe it but then he told his father that she was his girlfriend. Although people tried to take this scene in the wrong direction, what Sakura was trying to do was not bad. There was so much pressure on her and she found this solution as soon as possible. Naruto must have realized her right feelings as well so he introduced her as his girlfriend. Sakura didn't stop caring about Sasuke, but she didn't feel the same to him as before, and her character was starting to develop. But all that progress was wasted as naruhina fans forced the ending to change. For both naruto and sakura.
