  • Some of the best bits from the 2021 Welsh trial based in Presteigne.
More muddy slip sliding from the Gentlemen and Lady Sporst drivers as they attempt driving tests in slippery, slides Wales!
We broke our axle on the Big Black Vauxhall of Rob Hubbard so this is montage of clips from BTR, Morgan, the Carvell Crooks and Will Harris- thanks to them!

that's completely the opposite of the truth...
back then in 1920 and '30 there were not the highways and the asphalted roads that we see today... so that's exactly how it could look to travel around UK or Europe one century ago... in this sense thay are just doing a pretty accurate, revival experience.

@@effemmelle Good point, but cars of this era actually had white tires and not the black ones as seen here. The first tires had no viable tread, lacked good traction and were only really good for decent roads but they managed.

its funny to see the white gloves collectors whine about the way these are being used, as if these cars won't outlive all their current owners and even longer still. These people in the video are more likely to keep the car in running working order, because they actually use them and break them, so they are more knowledgeable about the cars limits, and also more knowledgeable about how to repair them. When those white-glove collectors want to take their car out one day, but its broken, who do you think they get the knowledge of how to fix it from; these guys of course. It's really cool to see these old machines tackle the hills like they would have done almost a century ago.

Depends on where you live, those Ford Model A's can be had in the US for less than $10k, the cheapest I ever saw was $6k and it only took the guy who bought it a day to get it driving again. Considering you called it petrol I'm guessing you live in the UK? Not sure what Model A prices are like over there but I know they aren't that rare. My recommendation, go to car shows and ask around, you'll get far better prices than any classic car dealership on the internet most of the time. And if nobody at the show is selling anything, they might know somebody who is.

The first event was held in the Christchurch area more than 30 years ago, and was inspired by the VSCC type events. In more recent years events have been held near Reefton and in Marlborough and Nelson. In its present form the Christchurch event is purely an off road event held on one property, but I can see a possible return to the British style event, for road registered cars and with road sections being used.

A video popped up with newer, home-made looking little cars on a pretty tight little uphill track and then I saw this video and couldn't believe it. 😂 In NZ these cars would be close to or over 100k if they're legit vintage and even replicas are worth a lot. The rarity is also a big factor here although if everyone cleared out their old sheds I'm sure there'd be more than people realise.
Motorcycle trials is pretty popular here but yeah, this is the first time I've seen it with cars. Using the home-made cars looks relatively inexpensive and as the tracks are so tight there aren't high speeds which ultimately makes it less dangerous and more accessible

It's a GN. Specifically it is a 1921 GN fitted with a 3.2 litre 1928 Anzani engine so the power to weight ratio will be insane.

You can’t ride these trials with modern cars. If these beauties had tires with more grip they would do those trials even easier.

Well, the famed "Thomas Flyer" pulled it off. If it could, these beauts can certainly do it, too! Would be pretty rad to have an old timer like these to just kick up some mud and not just looking pretty for a show! If you're just gonna let it sit around, why buy one in the first place???
