Branduardi is the bard in his highest exception. A great artist, musician and poet. its sounds are metaphysical and recall those of the early Middle Ages fond bdosi with contemporary arrangements. Music with him is always a wonderful protagonist. this particular piece of music is wonderful and you have already been told that it comes from a medieval poem. I advise you to listen, "Vanità di vanità (vanity of vanity)", "Alla fiera dell' Est (at the fair of the east)", "Cogli la prima mela (pluck the first apple)" to begin with. good listening.🍀🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

      Stupende...specie " Vanità di vanità ". Io adoro " La pulce d'acqua" e " Il cappello a sonagli " e la superba " Gulliver "

When he was child he lived in the historical centre of my town, Genova.
His neighbors were criminals, but they treated him like a prince. May be because he was playing violin.
He is great, a genius. 'Confessioni di un malandrino' is my favourite song!
I love 💕 him so much!

There is some clarification to be made about the translation: "morte" (death) in Italian is a feminine gender word, so death is not "lord", it's "lady". Therefore, when in the text it is said to lay the scythe during the dance that we are dedicating to her, the reference is to Lady Death, no longer the one who possesses Time

Branduardi si colloca tra i grandi cantautori italiani. Le sue ballate, non solo quelle medievali (come questa con tema la Morte), spesso filastrocche dolcissime, hanno avuto un grande successo in Italia negli anni 70 e 80.

the song is from 1977, old indeed but still immortal IMHO. my dad was a huge fan of Branduardi and I had the luck to see him in concert 3 time, everyone dancing on his music, it was amazing. He's a poet and a bard like the old days, and a sort of genius that can play many many instruments. try see this sond live, it's on another level (and at every concert it's a lil different) ua-cam.com/video/uwAOZaAfUug/v-deo.html

One of my favourite songwriter ever. He had a remarkable success also in France and Germay. It is said that Frank Zappa, which was Italian-American and knew several Italian bands and musicians, wanted him to go to the US to make himself to be known but Angelo Branduardi never took the journey. He also made English, French and Spanish versions of some of his songs.

Hey thank you for listening to Angelo, he's a great songwriter plus a researcher in ancient and medieval folk music of italy and europe. Maybe you already know that as a metalhead, but the Iron Maiden song When The Wild Wind Blows is quite similar to an Angelo's one: Apprendista Stregone (Sorcerer's Apprentice). 🤟

This text contrasts Death who wants to make his victims to the commoners who try to distract her from her infamous task. By inviting Death to join the party (cleverly dedicated to her by the villagers), hoping to please her, Death's program will be overturned and there will therefore be the possibility that at least someone will be saved. Death, not respecting the times of the "program", would not fulfill fully (or perhaps at all) its duty, that is to take souls. In short, the villagers seek to delay or undo Death's actions. The crown that Death speaks of is simply the crown used in funerals (the funeral wreath).

    Wonderful song by Branduardi.
I recommend all the songs from "Camminando Camminando" where there are the BEST versions and there are not these bad pieces (4:51 5:53).
    Medieval melodies. Branduardi "the minstrel".
The last two minutes of "I Santi" from "CAMMINANDO CAMMINANDO" are incredible.
