Hello, how are you? I recently found your content on youtube. I also have T1D. I got diagnosed on April 2021 when I was 24years old. I wear Omnipod and DexcomG7. Thank you for your videos, because I will learn from the videos, and it makes me feel less alone with T1D. Wishing you all the best😊

Fruits are high carbs , is that still ok ? Some T1 people are on low carbs diet to control . I am trying to balance but still eating about 100-130 grams of carbs per day . I would love to add more fruits

Hello, this is a great question. There are many different nutrition approaches that people with T1D choose to follow. I have chosen to follow different ones in different chapters of life. I eat fruit now and can make it work well. It really is an individual decision based on how your body responds and what you and your doctor discuss.

I sure hope newly diagnosed diabetics get better survival training then I did when I was diagnosed in 1998. I'll never forget getting diet advice from an obese nurse. Screw all the political correctness crap. I wouldn't take financial advice from someone who is broke so y would I take diet advice from an obese nurse? Fortunately I was inclined to go to the library and start reading books about diabetes. Many people now get their information mostly from social media and r not very well-informed as a result as u would expect. It's a sad state of affairs indeed. Anyone who is diagnosed type 2 who is overweight should immediately get a referral to a psychologist. If u can almost get rid of the lousy disease with diet and weight loss and u don't do it u meed to have your head examined. Diabetes sucks so bad y would anyone accept dealing with it for the rest if their life if they might b able to walk away from it? My psychiatrist went to Harvard and he's obese! No wonder y so many people just say it's genetic and never really become determined to change. 26 years since my diagnosis and I haven't spent a night in the hospital yet. But I accepted responsibility and educated myself but most seem incapable of doing it sadly.
