Tom Schreiner is without question my favorite scholar/theologian. I appreciate his humility and charity towards those he disagrees with. If there were more of this kind of argumentation in the evangelical culture, much more world be accomplished for the Kingdom.
Oh my goodness. Just found this today. And it looks like you have some of my personal pastoral/theologian heroes. Love this! I’ll be powering through this today. Thanks!
Very enjoyable! Dr. Schreiner really seems to model grace and charity in his thinking and work. That's valuable. Wonderful idea and looking forward to seeing more episodes!
This is great! Love the theological depth AND seeing you all as “regular” people. And being a former Louisville resident, love trying to figure out where you are driving. 😁
Thank you for sharing this the view points were very interesting, and the humble attitude of the guest very appreciated. I might have missed it, but I did not hear a reference to a scripture that might have concluded that prophecy had ceased, and was wondering if there was one? I know of a few scriptures which, to my understanding, state the Spirit of God is still producing prophets and prophecy in and through the members and ministry of His church body; however I am not familiar with any to the contrary. Thank you so much again for making these segments of your discussions available. May God bless you!
The choice of the RX/Wankel motor is ripe with theological conversation and thought - grace, mercy, patience, suffering, beauty, pride, doubt, faith - there is a lot to unpack.
Dr. Walter Elwell would be a great guest. Back in his Wheaton days, this theologian rebuilt more foreign sports cars than anyone I know. I think he drinks coffee too.
Love it, looking forward to more! Will you choose a different car for each convo, like Seinfeld does? If so, how did you choose this car for Dr Schreiner?
That would be nice and fun, but sorry, no -- my budget (approx. $0) and my love for my RX8 means it's really "theologians in MY car getting coffee." The "cars" in CCT refers to my car as well as learning what my guests first cars were. Also, in the other episodes we really do get coffee even though Tom didn't!
Is there any point in doing this interview in a car a la Jerry Seinfeld with his comedian pals, where the effect is brilliant, joyful, silly and it works, while here it's just a ridiculous copycat affect, which definitely doesn't work with, uh, theology. In fact, it's like a skit on SNL. Why not go sit in your comfy, cozy living room (with a coffee) and quit distracting from what purports to be a serious discussion.

Couldn't agree more!
“I’m happy to be instructed.” What an example of humility.
Dr. Schreiner was my favorite prof in seminary. He is a great example for us. I love his work. I grab anything he writes. Thanks for the episode!

Man. This is so good!
Love listening to anyone who can speak so intelligently “off the cuff”. Passion for the Word is so lost in today’s world!
Thanks Dr. Pennington and Dr. Schreiner, a fresh way of learning theology. Love it.
Oh, geez, this certainly validates the very "human" and humble ❤ of both these apostles. Just love it and them🙏 maria💖
Thanks Dr. Pennington, really cool idea!
Great idea! Looking forward greatly to the future episodes.
I love this soooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the 25 minute ride with Dr. Tom :) Watching you from Australia!
Likewise watching in the 'Land Downunder'
Wonderful idea, and fun to watch. Nice intro music too! Learned much about my old friend TRS too. Thanks
I liked the episode, but the intro music was slightly on the cheesy side!
Great first episode!
So good! Great idea. Great episode. Look forward to the rest

6:59 Bravo. She has her own worship and relationship with Jesus Christ separate from anyone, including the man she calls her husband.
From Argentina, good episode! Keep doing it.
Good stuff!
This is awesome!

This was a clever idea and an enjoyable conversation. Thank you!

Love the premise of this show but when the one of the first comments from the guest is, "I'm not a car person" it's not going to live up to its name.
Can we trust non-coffee drinkers? Asking for a friend.
Generally, no, but Tom is exceptional.

Why not be nice and enjoy the conversation?
This coming from somebody who used the wrong spelling of *effect.
