    #STSNation,
Welcome to another episode of Surviving The Survivor, the podcast that brings you the #BestGuests in all of True Crime…
Donna Adelson is back inside a Tallahassee courtroom for a case management hearing ahead of her September murder trial.
Donna is charged with 1st degree murder in the conspiracy to kill her ex son-in-law FSU Law Professor Dan Markel.
Tonight, we look at how the jury selection process will play out in three weeks.
    #BestGuests:
Judge Jay Blitzman (Retired) served as the First Justice of the Massachusetts Middlesex County Juvenile Court Division. Prior to his twenty-four year judicial career he was a public defender and was the first director of the Roxbury Youth Advocacy Project, a multi-disciplinary legal services unit which was the basis for creating a state wide public defender division. Jay was a co-founder of the Massachusetts Citizens for Juvenile Justice (CfJJ), and our Our RJ, a community based diversionary restorative justice initiative.
Stephen Webster & Louis Baptiste are the lawyers behind Webster & Baptiste Attorneys at Law in Tallahassee.
Stephen was Dan Markel’s post divorce attorney.
    Louis was Dan’s law student.
Martin E. Radner is an attorney licensed in Michigan and New Jersey. His practice is focused on personal injury, civil rights and criminal defense. He has handled and tried cases in both the state and federal court systems. Mr. Radner is well known and respected by the legal community as a fierce advocate and skilled trial attorney. I applaud Judge Blitzman for emphasising that one of the most important things about conducting court cases is for people to learn. I think this is so valuable, and this entire Markel Adelson situation provides so much for us to learn on a societal, family and individual level.

It's strange how Donna is bellyaching about the things that are no longer available to her due to how long it took the state to bring charges. What she fails to realise is that had she met with the detectives as requested, provided her cell phone for downloading instead of fleeing to Miami following the memorial service 😏 the information would be available. She had ten years of freedom that she did not deserve. She robbed Mrs. Markel of her right to be a grandmother to her late son's children. It really makes my blood boil every time I think about how evil Donna Adelson has been to the Markel family. I cannot wait until she is found GUILTY.

Stephs17 . . . My heart has truly been breaking re the disrespect shown by the Adelsons towards the kind/classy Markel family [God Bless them]. The behavior shown by the Adelsons has truly been abhorrent, at best! I believe their behavior should have & could have been dealt with quite some time ago, for the sake of the Markels who live in Canada! 🙏

Not to mention according to the defendant’s ridiculous story, both Donna and Charles knew who committed the murder and withheld that info through 2 trials, and Charles’s arrest, until gos trial. If their story was actually true wouldn’t they have come forward with the story after all the culprits were arrested?

@@barbaram.weatherly2719 I will not be satisfied until Wendi is arrested and stands trial for her role in the crime. How horrible do you have to be to engage in a plot to take away the man that fathered your children? She's her mother's daughter. I feel so sad for the boys, the Adelsons have ruined their lives. I hope someday they will reclaim their real last name, Markel. The Markels are forever in my prayers. 💔

    1) Murder has no statute of limitation 2) delay cuts both ways, you can lose evidence and witnesses for the state as well 3) the Adelson's are ridiculous creatures. Let's wrap this up. They all belong in prison.

Louis is excellent as always. Being local is especially helpful. Can't wait to hear Tim's commentary Friday, too.
I don't know what the rules of discovery are for criminal attorneys, but the argument on the delay seems ludicrous. The Adelsons were lawyered up on day two. Their attorneys could've gotten all that they are now claiming it's too late to get. On day two. I know that they would have to provide in discovery those things to the State once charged, but it's impossible to believe that all those attorneys don't know exactly what all of their phone records show whether through other channels or not.

    Spoken very well.
The beauty of it all there is no statue of limitations on murder.
    That’s why we see convictions 10 20 30 40 years and longer.
DNA testing has been a wonderful addition in technology.
I also believe everyone is entitled to a defense.
If nothing else the defense attorney can make sure the client is not violated with any of their constitutional rights.
And they can help the defendant when found guilty to avoid the death penalty etc.
Rashbaum is creating these hearings about change of venue, dismiss the case on a technicality and a smaller courtroom.
Rashbaum is all too happy to cover this during any hearings because it lines up with his billing the heck out of the Adelson’s.
