- Join Preston Spratt from Sprattronics Learning Lab to fix your LEGO Spike robot.
Have you built a bot, coded it, and then pushed play, but nothing happened?
Here are five questions to ask yourself, ask your students, and ask your child to enable them to fix their bot problem. These five questions should get your LEGO Spike Motors moving.
-1 Are your motors plugged into the hub? It’s easy to get so caught up with the build that you forget to plug in your motors.
-2 Is your hub connected to the computer?
-3 Did you program the bot to move? Far too often, we tell our bot how fast to move, but never actually tell it to go. Make sure you have a code block that directs movement or motors to actually turn.
-4 How many motors are you using? One motor works well with Blue Motor blocks, while two motors work well with pink movement blocks.
-5 Are you using Spike Prime? Have you put in the super-important Movement Blocks to start your program? Set Movement Motors, Set Movement Speed, and Set 1 Rotation.
