- They're back with a brand new track, yes I'm talking about the LEGENDS that make OGs seem young... Pete & Bas.
Today it's their new song Longthorne Shotgun... where to start?
This may just be their best song to date, I'll have to go back and refresh my memory to see for sure but their flows and their bars seemed another step up from anything I've heard from them before. Especially Pete, who had one of the best flows I've heard on a rap track period.
They were already super talented, but their evolution on this track is clear as day and the fact that they're still progressing should spell danger for a lot of the younger artists in their space.

I’ve often said they need to be given the same attention and respect as young mainstream artists.

Now I know the first reference in this is the roof of the rolls Royce phantom which has stars on it. But there’s another reference here. Phantom as is Phantom of the opera. He’s a disfigured musical genius who is not taken seriously because of his appearance. Bas was not taken seriously because of his age. Someone playing the role of the phantom gets to go on stage in prestigious theatres in an amphitheater and when they look up at the roof, they see celebrities watching them. Stars!
This is by far the coldest damn line. There is not other rapper who are able to add this detail into lyrics. I mean ever. Honestly

It’s so hard to not stop this tune bro like every single bar is unreal! I know people say they write their own but I don’t think they do! I’d genuinely love to know who does write them though because they’re ridiculously smart with lyricism! Take nothing away from Pete and bas they both flow incredible but them bars are some of the best I’ve ever heard in my life no shit the word play in this track is unbelievable if people can catch them

Killing it as they show themselves writing their lyrics... This is their best track yet. I am convinced they are writing this. The delivery alone tells me that if they do get help its very minimal at this point. You cant fake this.

For me, I don’t mind if their entire songs are ghost written, their performances command respect regardless. But I do think they write them as well

That's Roy Karneigh on the intro, not norman pain. Roy was Patrick Karneigh Jr's brother who died, and was on their Twins of Darkness six-track album

I was barely done giving my praise to Bas when Pete comes out of nowhere and drops a mind bending flow of his own… INCREDIBLE!!!
Both of them are so so so good and have come so far in such a short time. I’ve heard young artists who are around for years and never push themselves any further than they were when they started where as these two manage to do it effortlessly.
