You probably wouldn't remember...texture was my home before I started pouring...and where I have returned. Thanks for letting people know there is more to art than dumping paint.
So Interesting Gail love the addition of texture. Have been away from pouring for quite a while but getting back into it, there are so many new artists doing fabulous work. Love that you are working back into past paintings. Love your studio too and certainly can understand the need to have lots of canvases....just in case!! Lovely to hear your serene voice.xx
Love the textures. And I love all your canvases. I don’t have as many as you but I wish I did. 😀. Look forward to learning more from you about textures. Going to get some tissue paper to play with.
Gail, you have really gotten my juices flowing!!!! I really need to use some texture in a painting! I have GOT to try this. I have been having difficulty painting lately. This makes me want to do it more.
WoW! That is a lot of canvases, but we all know it’s easiest to buy them on sale. Also, when we get inspired we need to have exactly the size canvas we want to work on. Not sure I’m trying to convince you or me. Love the texture pieces. I have never done a piece like that, but I think I’m ready to try.
Gail, I love what you’re doing with textures! I just did a canvas covered with tinfoil for texture…. Now for some tissue paper and cheesecloth. I love you innovative approach to all your art. Your studio looks great! 🎉
Thanks for sharing Gail. I used aluminum foil for texture on a mountain painting I did a few years ago that I enjoyed doing. Love the idea of cheesecloth and tissue.
The exploration of texture you’re doing it so innovative. I love 💕 it and of course anything in turquoise floats my boat!! Ya…you don’t need anymore canvases!! Does your friend travel to do studio reorganization?? 😂😂😂
I really like texture in paintings. I have recently been checking out different types of textures on canvas One is mixing chalk dust with paint which is quite effective as well. In the past, I used tissue and glue. Not sure if that's the right thing to do, but it did work. I like your cheese cloth method and look forward to seeing more.
Texture is so dimensional, so alive. Thanks for sharing.
These pieces are incredible, I love texture on canvas it adds so much interest. Your studio is amazing and so is your art Gail.

Fantastic textures. I worked with tissue and paper but the cloth is really cool to look at, something to try on my next textured piece.
Canvases ...wow.. love it hon

Thank you.. I prefer the gesso and paint mixture and it works well.
I’ve been thinking about textures and using crochet doileys. How does it stick on?
Will the cheese cloth stick to the canvas just with the gesso
Yes.. it does.. I use gesso and paint mixed in. It dries perfectly..
What finish/varnish will you put over your pieces with cheesecloths and gold ribbon ?
I could eat texture with a spoon
