You know this was one of the very first DDD recordings -> all digital from the studio tracking, to the master and if you had it on CD, to the end product.
I just experienced it on vinyl when I looked through the attic last month. My father showed me his Moving Pictures album and I just sat and listened. It opens up a whole new world.

I recognized it after learning the song off the album. I came here to pick up any unheard nuances and noticed it right away.
Sorry you are mistaken. This track comes from an application called Jammit that is now defunct but it allowed you to play to songs from bands with isolated tracks. They used the actual tapes from the recordings for that program. If you think anyone could sound this close to Neil ... well it's just not possible.
@@bkulchycki do you play drums? I just learned the song yesterday and im telling you without a doubt the snare and bass drum patterns, particularly in the 1st minute are different from the album. No big deal, not trying to be insulting.

I'm so fucking pissed. I keep looking for isolated drum tracks and clicking on videos that say drum track only, and the other instruments are clearly audible in the background. This is false advertising. Does anyone know where I can find drum track only videos?
You freaking whining ignoramus! Unless you have access to the original multi-track masters, you cannot create single instrument original track recordings, but only do your best to filter out the EQ bands the other instruments in the original recording reside in, which means you're going to get some 'bleed' from the other instruments in the same EQ spectrum of the original recording. Filtering more to get rid of the 'bleed' will filter out some of the drum playing. You should be gracious to have something this good instead of whining that everything isn't perfectly catered to you.
Even with original drum tracks there may be some bleed from other instruments if anyone anywhere near the drums played any kind of supporting role when they were recorded. particularly in older recordings where there may have only been simple sound control barricades between drums and other instruments. Isolation is always an issue. Even if some guitar and or bass were going on in another room completely isolated from the drums, there is the odd chance that the overheads could pick up the cranked headphones. condenser mics are amazing things.
If the record company "owner" never released them you will never hear it. And most do not. This was a great job keep ing good drum tone and using "center" ect tracks and other tricks to isolate.
I can see how you think you should be able to criticize Neil Peart's playing seeing as how you're a legend and he's not. Oh wait, he's a legend and you're somebody nobody's ever heard of. The best that ever lived doesn't need advice from you. Go back to playing Rock Band and thinking you're the best because you read a book on drumming.
@Tom Vet ha ha. It doesn't take a master to spot flaws. Play at 1/2 speed and you can hear how "jagged" it is. That may be partially be design but my statement holds. I would have preferred some smooth fast quads at the end. There are some genres that Neil would have been bad at playing. Heavy Metal for example. He himself stated (in his DVD) that double bass to him feels awkward. I agree he was a great timekeeper, but from an analytical perspective, he cut some corners. Look at some of his older 2112 videos live, he just did on beat cymbal crashes near the end of the finale instead of his usual awesomeness.
@@davidjames1684 I'm not going to change my mind because of what some hack drum magazine reader thinks about the best drummer to ever live.
