This song is actually one of my favourite songs, her vocals are odd and personally don’t like that style of singing but hey ho the tune and the traditional music makes up for it.. that other lad is actually annoyingly moody 🙄

But why did you make a reaction just on one song? I noticed that a lot of Europeans really like Solovey, although this song is not the favorite one in Ukraine, Khayat or Tvorchi are more likely to win Vidbir so it would be great if make reactions on other songs from Ukraine ❤️

It's a mix of very complicated Ukrainian traditional, I'd even say forgotten, singing technic, which usually can't be performed by young ladies, with modern electric bits.
And just listen to that nightingale bird (Solovey bird in Ukrainian) singing in combination with a flute during the bit.
It's something special, you can party with usual songs all the time, during the show. But sometimes it's time to enjoy art.

This is a bit like Portugal last year you either like it or just can't get it - it is an art piece and i like what they have done with it although it does get a little irritating by the end. Eurovision winner? Jury's out - what do you think?

For everyone interested in this singing its "white voice", traditional Slovanian singing technique and its believed to be hardest one for your voice
When on the 1st second (without any music) I saw the face of Deban I already knew what reaction will be. The reaction doesn't depend on the music itself with this type of human. Maybe current position of the Moon changes something.

I´m not sure but I think the song is about forbidden love, not sure. Please correct me.
As William is saying it has a Tulia vibe but their song and "Solovey" is two cultures where in folk music you are sining in quartertones, which means for the western listeners it can sound out of tune or pitchy but that's a part of the culture.
Deban is just the typical listener that have no idea of anything musically besides pop.
Personally I love this because of her tone, voice and the music itself, as I have written in top of my comment I think it's about forbidden love so I guess that's why the music is a bit gloomy. There's a line says "poky ne zna matusya " I looked it up and I got it to be " for as long mothers doesn't know".
