I've had a Jen Double Sound Super for 15 years. It's made in Italy. I traced the circuit and made a schematic when I bought it. The wah section is identical to the original Cry Baby with a white fasel inductor. The fuzz section is the same as the original Vox distortion booster, a no knob fuzz. Exactly the same circuit as the later Fuzz Face but with component value differences. The european made ones have NPN silicon transistors, the USA versions used PNP for positive ground.
Edit: To make it smoother, replace the pot gear with a modern replacement from Jim Dunlop or Vox. I had to do this to mine, I also replaced the pot with a hand made replica from Stuart Castledine of wah-wah dot co dot uk. It's now smooth and no scratchy noise.

The JEN is the original Crybaby wah-wah for our generation. This is the one used by Dave Murray, Adrian Vandenberg and Michael Schenker, you'll never get that tone with the Thomas Organ version made in Sepulveda California or the Dunlop GCB95 made in Benicia CA. I have both, and they sound thin and shrill. However, Maxon made a copy of the JEN called Blubber or Crying baby machine, in Europe sold as Ibanez. Blubber, and that is the one used by Ronni Le tekrö :) The Jim Dunlop Crybaby Classic is very close.

I have one of these. Yes, it can be hard work to switch on and off, but i rectified this by adding padding here and there. Mine has a red fasel, which is supposed to be some kind of 'holy grail'. I don't know what difference it makes, but it's a good pedal. :)

I found one for 100 dlls approx but I think it might be worth less. otherwise why would one sell it if it´s worth more? it either don´t sound that good or the person don´t find value in it. it´s a gamble.

You’d be surprised mate.. a lot of people really don’t know what they have.. again.. the sound is a very subjective matter obv.. but certainly they are becoming more n more rare.. so why not get one and just keep it ;-)
