Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm 41, and lived in Aurora from 1980 to 1993. Geauga Lake was our life in the summer months growing up. My parents would ride the double loop over and over and over. When I was 2, I was allowed to "drive" the monorail with the operator. Even after we moved to NW Pennsylvania I still came back all the way until Geauga Lake was closed. Such a heart break for me. These old videos bring me back.

this is amazing. incredible invaluable time capsule. i was here all the time as a kid in the 80’s -90’s - then was there during the sad end 2005-2007 . this is peak and as bittersweet as it is after all this time later, i’m glad to see this and revisit a better time of life. thanks

U just took me back in time with this video. Thank u thank u thank u!!! The memories I have at this place is endless. My last memories of Geauga Lake (i never called it Six Flags) was the last year of its operation. It was so sad because it wasn't packed like it used to be, but i rode everything like 3 times because I knew it was the end.

I used to live about 3-4 miles from the park, and worked at the Aurora Woodlands Hotel (renamed the Six Flags Hotel) for several years. Such a shame what happened to the park. One of my many highlights was seeing Fred the rotor man.

The Flying Scooter is a very older ride at Geauga Lake and the Grand Carousel is a VERY HISTORIC ride, built by MC Illions and Sons. A very beautiful ride. The Bobs was named after the Riverview Bobs in Chicago, Il. This was built for the park's Centennial. The Skyscraper is the observation tower. There's a lot of information you were not very well informed about about.

Great vid! I rode the Mind Eraser in the summer of 1997. My family went on a road trip that summer, & we visited Knoebels, Hershey, Geauga Lake, Sea World and Cedar Point along the way.

I know this was uploaded almost a year ago now but I wanted to thank you for putting this up. I practically grew up at this park! Also a bit of information for you! The carousel that was at the park actually was historic carousel and so were many of the horses. The Big Dipper was built in 1920, one of the rocket ship ships was rescued so to say from the closed Myers lake park from Canton Ohio, the mini Ferris wheel, mini tumble bug, and the flyer was rescued from other closed parks from around Ohio.

Was just over at Geauga lake to film its remains today. 1993 I was 3 and my parents took me here the exact day this was filmed. I saw my mom walk through the frame. That’s insane. I have video somewhere from this exact day over at seaworld.

This is crazy. August 9, 1993 was my 10th birthday. August 26, 1996 was my best friend's 14th birthday. And June 15, 2000 was my wife's 11th birthday. Seriously, what are the odds?

Girl: Daddy, what happened to the rest of the former Geauga Lake/Six Flags Worlds of Adventure roller coasters?
Dad: That's an excellent question. Most of them are scrapped, and the kids coaster is now in France. As for the rest, X-Flight moved to Kings Island, but it was scrapped years later. Serial Thriller/Thunderhawk is now in Michigan's Adventure, Superman: Ultimate Escape/Steel Venom is now at Dorney Park, Mind Eraser/Head Spin is now at Carowinds, and Batman: Knight Flight/Dominator is now at Kings Dominion.

I know this comment is from awhile ago, but just seeing it now - you are correct, but it wasn’t built until Six Flags turned it into one park with Sea World in 2000. Alas, it was gone again when it returned to just being Geauga Lake (and the wildlife park just closed entirely).

That slide with the rafts. Maybe they let me go on it too soon. I always been tall but the 1 time i rode it carrying that (hard plastic) raft up all them steps was awful. There will never be a ride like that again ....
Grizzly run u a liar. There was a point in a "cave" that had a waterfall over it..... or u didnt see them for hours and theyd dried up....
