Back in the late 60's my best friend was a student at Georgia Military School and while I was there for a weekend visit we drove through the grounds of the then still active State Hospital. I remember the residents of one building crowding on to a screened porch to watch us as we drove through, but the most haunting memory was driving around to the back of the facility and seeing the thousands of metal stakes with a serial number stamped on them to denote a grave. I've heard that that is the most haunted place in the state and if it's not, it sure is missing a good chance!

My late brother worked there as EMT and had some horrible stories to tell. He was threatened by staff for reporting terrible abuse.
