Fortnite has been one of the biggest wastes of any game in terms of competitive play but I still believe that if epic implemented some of the stuff mentioned it could very well succeed to it's fullest potential. Even today the comp scene is massive it's just sad to see Epic let the life drain out of it

For the scrim situation, what epic could do is add daily duo cups again for small cash prizes. That way it acts as a real tournament and people will try, but it really will just be for practice

The ping is a very big problem, i play really good in creative but cant do the same in real games because of the delay i have

Yeah in creative I get 0 countless times but in pubs ranked or tourneys I get 30-50 ping which doesn't allow me to play to my potential
Great video marren, I think it would be fair to do a video on the opposite theme, about the good things of fortnite comp.
Another thing they could do to improve the game is ping based matchmaking. For example in games like warzone if you have 60 ping you get in lobbies with people around 60 ping. That way it would be much more fair.
Could work in the larger regions but in smaller regions it would make matchmaking very long and wouldnt ofc work in tournaments
@@sampp44 yes but the thing is to make it not so restrictive, i mean that if you get 60 ping you get paired around 60 ping , meaning you can get paired with 40-80 ping players, just a 20 ping diffrence. But not like in fortnite when u can be playing on 50 ping and face 0 ping players which is a 50 ping difference
Also on na they combined east and west so now everyone on the coasts in cities like philadelphia new york and los angeles are on 40-60 ping
Something i think could be really cool would be players being able to create "clans" within the game basically adding the (DIG) to bughas name without actually having to change it, maybe like a clash royale type thing, also while excluding some names for the actual brands. Just an idea

Back in chapter 1 I was probably good enough to go pro but my ping has held me back ever since.
I can't name any pros on anywhere even remotely in the same ballpark as me pingwise.
epic still got things to do with servers, for example, hafl part of europe are stick to over 30 ping cuz they dont want to pay more aws servers, i live in spain, and here we got massive servers and a really good infraestructure, but i still be playing tournamets at 40-60 ping with a whole 1gb symetric ethernet connection lmfao
i went from league of legends to fortnite so the ranked system definitely was a bit disappointing. i agree with you on that they need more ranks, maybe making elite and champion having 3 divisions then adding 1 more rank before/after unreal.
So like I agree, I agree in a way that I wish every game that is even slightly competitive would give more support. However, Fortnite is literally the only game you can actually make money on without gambling through like CMG or other websites. A huge problem I had when I stopped playing FN back in the day and switched to another game was that there was literally ZERO reason to get good at the game because there was absolutely no way to make money. The fact that FN gives away money just about every weekend is insane compared to the rest of the gaming space. I definitely agree that there should be more support at least for orgs, but honestly don't take these cash tournies for granted you absolutely will not find them anywhere else.

i mean they jus changed cash cup prize pools, especially for cash cups so thats a step in the right place all that aside tho this video was nice and a really good thing to hear so much better they could do.
Totally agree. Comp was lowkey so fun in ch4 s1-2. They just ruined it, It actually makes me devestated
there being 0 difference between ranked and casual game modes makes considering the game "competitive" at all a complete joke. Remove the npc bots and loud annoying music then maybe.
If you are a higher rank you will most likely be facing better player and there is only bots in bronze and I know that from expierience 😭

this is INCREDIBLY true. Fortnite could have one of the best eSports out there. Look at valorant they have the VCT and every year for their champion tournament they release a Champions bundle and it makes millions. All the proceeds go to prize money as well. Overwatch sell skins for the teams in their eSports team as well.
I believe that even the game itself could have some changes which would allow for better skill expression, such as 100% spawn rate chests, low rarity skilled movement (launchpads, rifts which make you easy to beam if used wrongly), no snipers or no 1 shot snipers, siphon (absolutely no one had a problem with it, I don't get why they removed it), maybe a nerf to turbo build to counter low ping advantage, but to the scale that it was in chapter 1, and personally i think ever since traps were removed back in chapter 2 the meta permanently shifted to 50 50's, the only players i see fully playing around peeks and avoiding 50's are pro players, but even they force 50's every now and then.

I understand the reason why they had switched the severs to central but as a west player trying to get into the comp scene, the ping is crazyyy
They should also do something for people that live on the coast of the U.S like New york or Seattle and also for Canada, Na central servers in comp totally ruin the fun for upcoming players that cant go somewhere else just to play Fortnite it’s almost impossible to get less than 40 ping. Be coming a pro with such bad ping is almost impossible
I live in florida and have bad internet so I struggle to get under 100 ping on any server region.
I've wanted them to make an NA-Southeast region or something like that for years but they just haven't.
With my internet I think I could probably get sub 40 on those.

since a lot of talents are like 14-16 and they arent super rich they are stuck on bad systems and bad gear and just dont hit max potentiol

yea lost of good points on this vid what hit me the most was the ping situation i truly believe i could have started a career on this game with even slightly better connection to the game its jus kinda hard to know that i'd prob never be the level i want cus this game will always be connection ruled

I hate that solos is completely shunned every season, i dont know ANYONE who takes this game seriously and I suck/hate looking through discord servers and sifting through the piles of toxicity just to find 1 decent player
I know this isn’t related to the video and stuff but, how would I get 20> ping? I’m directly connected to my router with an ethernet I live hella close to the servers and I have optimized as much as I can any tips? As of right now I sit at 10-20 in creative and 20-30 in game
There needs to be more people talking about Epic changing the comp servers to Na Central for North America they put the server in the worse place possible for the majority of the na scene
Btw epic does do the org skins in rocket league as they get all different kinds of cosmetics for orgs so I wouldn’t be shocked if it happened in Fortnite as they are both owned by epic games
I feel like for most up and coming Na talents, the ping is such a limiting factor. In na west with a very good internet provider, optimized dns and adapter, and nice ethernet cable, the lowest my ping ever gets is 30. And this is for the top example. Most Na west or east players have much worse connect averaging anywhere from 45 to 80. I think Fortnite should make ranked na west na central and na east. And for the bigger tournament use na central.

They need to change tournaments on NA back to NAW, NAC, and NAE. With the fluctuation of players coming in for OG Fortnite and the new season, they could easily had enough players if their ONLY worry is long queue times. Fortnite making pros move to maintain their skill level is a risky move in the first place and didn't have to be done. The only players Epic Games helped with NAC was obviously central U.S, northern Mexico and a VERY small amount of Canada. Now because NAC is the only region, majority of Canada and Mexico is at a disadvantage, along with East and West.
yes i think we should have a competitive designed loot pool, i wouldn't even care if it is the same guns for comp every season. as long as it is balanced and consistent.. doesnt have to be perfectly balanced but close enough.
i also think that if they did do this they could focus on other aspects of comp or the game in general. like a mini 5v5 comp mode were two teams of 4 or 5 drop on a large POI and duke it out. or other things in general.
but sorting out loot pool in comp can leave more focus on other aspects.
another idea could be keeping the same AR,SMG, and shotgun but then swapping out Utility per season still keeping a consistency but a variant and less boring comp play.
relying on a team too much will lead to toxicity, trust me i unfortunately play league of legends

Ranked isnt that bad cuz if you are unreal you are on the leaderboard so it doesnt matter if you add a top 500 rank cuz that doesnt really change stuff when you see it in unreal aswell

I think the rank requirements for tournaments is a bit of a problem. If i were to grind from gold 1, 6%, all the way to plat 1, i would only face bots and 9-12 year kids. Grinding to just reach a certain low rank makes it a bit of a waste of time. Plus it doesnt give the memo of how skilled players r going to be in tournaments. If the rank requirements were raised for money related tournaments to elite or champion for smaller cash tournaments and unreal for fncs, it can give meaning to why you should grind ranked. Like what is the point of ranked if ur just gonna face bots and little timmies that cant compete in tournaments.
Hey bro I have a question. I mainly play solo, duos and I’m already pretty good on controller but I want to take it to the next level and try to go pro. I see most pros on kbm, does this mean I should switch to kbm for me to have a better chance to go pro?

I grinded so hard last season worked so hard on my fighting in ranked got to unreal began working my way up the leaderboards and was abt to get back into scrims and tourneys for the first time in years and now I’m struggling just cuz they made me move like a roblox character. It’s so hard to move fast enough and if you mess up you’re pretty much a sitting duck to someone else who also knows what they’re doing.

Everything wrong with competitive fortnite: mantling, sliding, sprinting, shit meta, bad prizepools, zerobuilds, augments, tons of bugs, bad servers on EU, duos three years in a row, qual system in cash cups, no siphon, no proper ranked mode. If fortnite kept simple meta from chapter 2 and prizepools like it was in first half of chapter 2 then competition would be insane.
In regions like Brazil and Asia, we have competitive problems in relation to a very low price pool compared to Europe and NA (FNCS Major EU and NA: 200k for top 1. BR and ASIA: 31k for top 1) This difference doesn't make sense because the quantity of competitive players in Brazil is at least less than 20% compared to Europe. There is also a problem with places in the Victory Cash cups. In Fortnite OG the places for Brazil and Asia were 4000 for the finals. They reduced the vacancies for 1240. While in Europe, they increased to 11000🤯. Remembering that the number of players on the Brazilian server playing championships is less than 20% lower.
don't forget the ping issue, southeast asian players have to deal with 100 ping as we are using the japanese servers, and this is really irritating as the issue has been on going since chapter 1.
The there isn't a competitive loot pool that takes out all of the OP items, then thee game itself isn't competitive. There no reason that someone should be able to get free kills and placement points just because they luckily got an item that gives them an significant advantage against all of the other players. Some could argue that weapons like the gold pump or gold AR would qualify as OP, but those weapons aren't good if you can't aim. Explosive weapons or rediculous movement utilities like the jetpack, grappler, etc. are all 0 effort items that give you a massive advantage regardless of your skill level.

The ranked progression isnt too bad but they need to have tournaments like rocket league it only makes sense
One thing I wish they would do is more console tournaments for the console players because pc versus console is unfair far as fps the game more fast for them and console players won’t get as much credit

The problem is they despise the comp scene and only want shrink the skill gap between comp and casual players. It’s a problem of a company that makes so much money they have no desire to spend a little to improve the little playerbase that comp has. Ever since building has improved continually through the years they’ve been trying to level the playing field just as long instead of letting comp be comp.

TRUE FACTS
To say that a more optimized game is whats needed so that people don't have to tweak hard/soft/firmware is absolutely stupid. Increasing CPU clock is always going to increase frames if it can be sustained with stability. All these things are just inefficiencies in a given system that would affect any game or application performance.

I wish fortnite would cater a little more to the 17-25 community. I either have pure bot lobbies or I have lobbies with people flexing their 400 crown wins. I’m busy, I have a life, my girlfriend is gonna stop taking birth control so we can have children, I can’t play the game for 3 hours a day, and I imagine most people can’t or won’t . Put normal players in to lobbies with other normal players ! Create a game for men and woman, and their families, to enjoy it, while also creating a separate league for competitive children!

@@sebmark2559 in reality they should have either left NA-EAST and NA-West or added central south and central north servers. People that live above the canadian population line (like me) have like 80 ping and tournaments are unplayable, on NA-East tournaments had like 40 ping on the high end...
The game really isnt that fun to watch for like 50% of the match. Only the endgame and early game have anything cool happen midgame is just slow rotating and tags for storm surge.
