There’s no bird more gracious than a swan. Love watching them but in Australia , they are not seen often. Thank you for sharing this beautiful film. .Jose, Melbourne . Australia
Sian L. Whitehead .Australia is vast and maybe I don’t travel much but I know by observing them , they are peaceful creatures unless they are under threat specially they are very protective of their cygnets. We do have black swans too but personally, I have not noticed the cream/ brown ones.. thank you so much for sharing these beautiful videos. Jose
Jose Peka I agree swans are peaceful normally except when threatened, particularly when they have their cygnets. They are very protective parents to their cygnets.
For those wondering why the mother left that baby behind, its arrival was too late compared to the other chicks, and they needed food. It was a matter of the better good, not risking them all because of one. I'm glad that people rescued the abandoned baby, it will do very well once people take care of it.
sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
What I have seen is one staying on nest, not ready to go into water and the father stays with him/ her to keep an eye on him. You are probably right in what you are saying this one was struggling as not long hatched and it was obviously too soon to go for a swim. Lucky that he was rescued
Sometimes, nature seems harsh to the weak, but I understand it's all about the survival of the species, and I'm glad to know that the last chick was rescued by legit people who know and care about these beautiful bird’ species. Anyways, thank you for sharing such a beautiful Story of this wonderful family of wildlife. Parents swans are truly beautiful, and all the chicks are so adorable, yet at the end of the day, only half of the total eggs have successfully grown into adulthood if I am correct. I don't even know if 50% is a significant success for swans, but since they need to migrate a long-distance soon, I don't know how many out of those five babies could survive their very first long and hard flight, and get a partner to carry on their genes to the next generation, but I just strongly hope that all five of them will live a long and healthy life just like their wonderful parents ❤
Thank you for sharing. This film is just a beautiful as Hampstead Heath is itself. God bless and keep those NEW laying and hatching films coming. I just love to watch these new life and family forever films. These are so wonderful. God bless you and yours and all of these beautiful birds. Peace.
Damn that beer can pisses me off!!!! I’d get a stick and fetch it out! It’s amazing how nature adapts to US! We are blessed to see this beauty of God’s world! How can ANYONE down vote this beauty?!
Another year there was another beer can on the nest. Someone did climb over the fence and removed it. I didn’t like to see it so was pleased it was removed
Why do people down vote a nature video ? Probably they have nothing better to do in their lives so become social media trolls. Also they must be people who don’t appreciate the beauty of nature, sad people !
That irresponsible person who threw that can maybe does not appreciate the beautiful things in life. It says a lot about someone’s personality by just throwing a can that could be harmful to them. And by taking the time to share with all of us such beautiful video. A big thank you to you❤️❤️🏆
I'm kind of shocked the Mom left the newly hatched chick!! What about the belief that Swans are Caring Loving Protective parents!!?😳 Glad it was rescued!! Sad one in shell died... Wonder WHY it died as it looked basically hatched?? Thank you for the Video!!💕
Swans are caring, loving, protective parents. What usually happens not long after hatch is that the parents take the cygnets for a swim so they can find food. If one stays on the nest they might wait to see if it follows but if not they will continue with the other cygnets to go for the swim. I have seen the father stay on the nest with one reluctant to go into water. It may be that the parents could sense the one who stayed behind was not up to going in the water so they swan off with the ones who would. The remaining cygnet did not look strong so the best thing happened and he was rescued. It is not unusual that at least one egg doesn’t hatch, this means the cygnet in the egg did not develop properly.
Interesting comment but not sure why you would refer to them as you do. Swans are elegant indeed and swans and geese are very different in looks and behaviour. With such elegance does come a feisty character but when you get to know them you realise how lovable they are :-)
O! Is Heartbreaking the swan mother left one baby swan behind 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 . Thanks guys u rescue the baby swan, so after will u guys return the baby swan to the mother swan?????🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Can you make a part 2 of the swan family please? I really enjoy watching these type of swan videos I even watched the whole video like 3 times already.
It is not nice to see that people are throwing their rubbish away in places inhabited by wildlife including on a swan's nest. Two years running when the swan pair have made their nest and laid their eggs there has been a drink can thoughtlessly and carelessly thrown on the nest. It show's a total disregard for the swans specifically and wildlife generally.
Awesome video, the only thing I could wish to see was a clock or timeline, so we'd know how long the time lapse between segments was, was this over a few hours, or a couple of days that the first 4 cygnets waited for the rest to hatch? That sort of thing. And I hope the jagoff who threw the beer can into the nest area gets a cob swan's wing-slap right in the nutsack some day.
Once the first cygnet hatches the rest will hatch. Usually it is over a period of a couple of days for them all to hatch. I like the fact you are that interested to know how long the whole process lasts. Thanks for watching and leaving your comment.
@@Sian.l.whitehead My pleasure, thank you for providing such a clear and up-close high quality video of the process! I'll be looking through the rest of your channel later tonight, cant wait to see what else you have.
Al menos la historia es que el patito "feo" se convierte en un hermoso cisne y los que decían feos se hacían parecer estúpidos. Estoy de acuerdo en que son muy lindos cuando son jóvenes.
The parents take the cygnets into the water not long after they have all hatched. I am not sure that the mother knew that the last cygnet would not follow. Maybe she thought that it would.. I have seen the father stay behind with one cygnet who was reluctant to go for a swim and he stayed close to protect him. Then all the others returned and they were reunited. The one cygnet here did not look up to going anywhere and it did look as if it was struggling but mother was focussed on doing what she thought was right for the others I'd say.
when cygnets are first hatched they can become prey of pike in the water. As they get a little older they are more likely to be harmed by dogs and fishing lines and hooks.
Well ... the beer can gave them something to play with .... You can't get it out of there until mama & babies are gone or the dad's going to beat your ass.
The family do leave the nest a lot of the time to the water to get food. The difficulty removing beer can is having to climb over fences and a slope to the nest. Nobody would intrude upon nest when it is being occupied. The father can be aggressive when protecting his partner and the cygnets you are right. They are both very protective parents
I love this but I can't believe you took that baby swan. You had no right. She knows how many she has. If anything you could have removed that beer can out of the nest.
The baby swan was taken to a sanctuary and did survive. I had no say in the decision to do that, it was not up to me. I agree people should not feel they have a right to interfere with nature but those who rescued the baby swan did so with the right intentions. I am not happy that when it comes to the rights of animals and birds they do not consent to what is done to them when they are not left alone but a lot of people will rescue birds and animals that are wild in order to save them and hopefully release them back to the wild. If the cygnet had been brought back most probably it would have been rejected by the parents. When recovered and developed enough to survive independently it would have been released to a new territory. Agree about the beer can.
Yes.. Man is good about interfering with nature and he can't even get himself together. Yes, After, if the baby swan had of been brought back he would of been rejected. Why?Because those handling him had put their scent on him. Though nature as cruel as it may seem does have a reason for everything. That swan will never know his family 💔 how heartbreaking is that. I'm a bird lover and we have a lot to learn from nature if pay attention. I just feel for compassionate about how that was done. No punt intended. Man has come to help nature in time of need like oil spills, trashed beaches, cutting down trees and destroying natural habitats. As man's progress marches on nature continues to disappear. Our children and grandchildren will surely miss out on the splendor and magnificent beauty of nature. I pray these views will be saved for future generations. Thank you ❤
First I was wonder why people keep swan. Bcs human rarely consume it eggs and meat. Here there still some mystical things why some people have swan. While dogs barking to visitor. Swan will make a noise when ghost or spirits come in. Hehe

The baby left behind might have survived being left on the nest for a short time. He/she did end up going to the swan sanctuary and was alright. I don’t think we should project our own values onto swans or other wildlife, if we were a swan we might do the same.
