- We followed the De Smet Spartans Hockey team all season long all the way to the Missouri hockey state finals - The Challenge Cup. The Spartans face-off against crosstown Jesuit rival St. Louis University High School (SLUH) in a rematch of the '22 Midstates Playoffs Championship at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, MO.
The Spartans seek redemption and look to end a 13 year long Championship drought while the Jr. Billikens look to go back to back against their Jesuit rival.
The Spartans and Jr. Billikens previously played 3 games this season against each other with the Spartans taking all three games including the Jesuit Cup, a Jesuit bragging rights tradition. You can watch that episode here:

This isn't completely relevant, but seeing all the people in the stands immediately start pointing was kinda funny. Like little kids snitching on their sibling. Of course, the situation is much more serious than that, but I couldn't help but think of it with so many visitors pointing.

There’s some weird rules and stipulations about the USA Hockey HS National Championships. None the MN HS teams play either.
