Isnt just the vocals, is the whole composition all over the full album and the guitar details in every song that reminds every RHCP age with mr. Frusciante, his work is beautiful. Its desapointing heraing supposed "fans" telling this album isnt what they expected, like if every album should sound the same or should sound like Californication, this album is a journey to their story as band.

He is a genius even singing. Compare the backing vocals with the part he sings the chorus in The Heavy Wing. He can sing as a solo singer with his unique voice, or he can sing perfectly balanced harmonic vocals, where Anthony gives the character and John is making a space to color the whole vocals scenario.
@1:39 is actually Aura-T09, (John's gf) but yea, John's backing vocals are almost as important as Anthony's Fronting vox to this band. He doesn't sound like he is going through puberty (Shout out #joshklinghoffer )

John's musical disempowerment is now more evident and - for me - it is the cause of his repeated estrangements from the band in the years. End of mondial tour = John will break up again. He belongs to another universe. LOVE ♥️
A shame that his vocals are so buried in the original mix. I’m sure people would have liked the album even more if his harmonies had a stronger presence (like in BTW)

This album is top notch! It’s up there with Stadium for me. It’s a great progression for them IMO
at first I didn't like this album very much either, but after listening to several songs again I saw that it really deserved more respect.
