Three Knights (with the aid of the King)... Cases 5. and 6. are so exceedingly rare in practice (in forty years ... I have failed to experience a single example) that I have not thought them worth the space." But you managed to engineer one on demand even at your tender age, and execute it brilliantly! 🙂
I have that book! Many, many years ago it was a well thumbed friend from childhood which introduced me to the pleasures of chess and since I read it so often I can even recall the passage you mention. Must see if I can find it again 🙂

One chess book I have read said it is a waste of time for beginners to learn this particular endgame because they will never get it over the board. The author said that he has been playing chess for over 40 years and has never faced it.
If Alessia did not notice it, I am guessing Noël instantly noticed that Alessia let the enemy king get "out of the net" when she play Kc3-c2 as Black "could" have played ... Kb4 in response ... Alessia was supposed to check at e7 before bringing her king to c2. I love the fact that Alessia chose to go for this ending which is for me also a "lot" of fun ... if not useful practice. Alessia's "finishing" technique for this endgame is a pretty well-oiled/old method when the king is in the wrong corner (in this case a8) by placing her knight "a knight's move away" (c7/b6) from that corner with her king supporting it. Then you follow with what they call the "w" pattern of your knight (when starting at "b6"-d5-b4-d3-b2 to usher the enemy king to the "right" corner" a1) while your king covers the knight on the (c-file in this case) and the bishop helps keep the enemy king from running back to the "wrong corner" ("not" the color of your bishop). I "loved" seeing her head turn to keep herself oriented to the technique she is familiar with. Very entertaining content Alessia! :)

What kind of weird game are you playing here!?🤢 With the rules you set for this game, every little child could manage a chessmate with these two pieces (B+N).😮
