One thing I’d like to highlight that was interesting is how much better we looked when Mac Allister came on the pitch. We looked much more compact defending and more dangerous moving the ball around, and despite everyone saying Mac Allister has dipped in form, he is still just as important to the way this team plays. Liverpool need to reintroduce Joe Gomez into the regular rotation, I would feel much more comfortable with him playing left back in games where opposition will be playing purely counter football. The VAR review on the penalty was a joke, they moved past the original point of contact to claim it was in the box. Would love to hear the audio recording of that.

Now that this game is over, is this the way you wanted us to be challenged? Was this the game? If so, we still managed to win. We are getting through this.
I think that slopiness in the defence happened cause of international break. 3 players on yellow card afte 30 minutes - all was very important for their international teams. That's my main concern about our team - players getting more and more exhausted, we don't have any rotation in six position, lost two fullbacks (I hope for one game only) suddenly, and zero subs for striker (until Jota returns).

Agreed that we seem weak to counter attacks, so far this season i believe we've gotten away with quite a bit and thats me not being pessimistic at all. And you're absolutely correct. The liverpool players always underestimate the bottom of the league teams. They need to be a bit like City (other seasons) who never discriminate and play like its a top 6 team. Its as if Liverpool are like, oh, they're bottom of the table, peace of cake... and then end up having to work extra hard and make a fool out of themselves. Smh
Defo a midfield problem today, which I think was because of discipline, mostly too attacking and leaving us open. Saints passed thru our midfield at times like it wasn't there. Regarding Nuñez, he's almost useless vs low blocks, far better with space to run into. Also cut him some slack after playing for Uruguay with very long flights. But he's not completely ineffective, combining well with the other attackers. We also struggled to create decent chances which he'd thrive on, also why we need Mo so much in games like this one.
Cody did ok, ironically, Mo was pretty anonymous minus the goals, Darwin was pretty anonymous, but then we were pretty anonymous for 65 mins. We were not exactly great in middle, especially up until that point, and that's partly why the front 3 were very quiet. Mac coming on changed things, and suddenly we were applying much more pressure
If Marmoush comes it could be interesting he already has a great understanding with Salah for Egypt is a better finisher than Darwin but then there's Danns and Kumas to come in
We need aerial threat up front there, Those Gakpo crosses need to land on someone and its a very effective way of scoring in a low block and also goals from outside the box, thats why Macca needs to start on almost every game(not saying he needed to start this one, rotating is good and l like Jones in the team) , these 2 things, headers and long range goals win tight matches and if we score one or 2 of them the opposition will get out of their box more often and we can score on regular transitions and counter attacks like always

@@ADe-p7donly in low block situations. Curtis has been better overall but Harvey is so immaculate in tight spaces that he’s got to be that guy in those games.
As much as the first goal started from a vvd mistake, why is Robertson running back to his box to then make the tackle if you meet in 10 yards further forward no matter what you do probably doesn’t end with the penalty. I think Robertsons decision-making defensively is still poor.
I just don't get why we always have problems with low block but have not trained to overcome this. While Bradley may be good, he's still not up to Trent's level so today he was shown up. The team still is not all together, needs a bit of work for sure. Too many games where we have won despite not playing our best, this is just not good enough. We will be shown up when we play against a better team. Good we got our 3 points but we really need to step it up.
Disagree strongly re VVD and Robbo. Robbo was out of position time and again both in the attacking half and defensively, VVD was often looking to see where the fuck he had gone. There were two diagonals over to our LB 'space' and Robbo was miles out of position both times and both could easily have been goals (against a better side, they probably would have been). In the attacking area, he was even worse. He continually kept running inside of Gakpo, which (i) denied Gakpo the opportunity to cut inside, which he does to great effect usually, and (ii) he was running straight into a mass of S'p'ton bodies, and not able to provide anything to help the attack. His passing in open play was pretty much non-existent in terms of threat, and his corners were terrible - often not even clearing the first defender. VVD had to put up with his LB having a mare, and his CB partner looking weirdly off it from the kick-off (Konate just looked lethargic, clumsy and disjointed the whole game). Being between those those two and having to deal with a 2m monster was a tough day at the office for Virgil. Looks like Kostas will now play against Real, and maybe Gomez. Be interesting to see if Trent is back for that, or is kept back for the City game. I think it is now clear that Darwin is just never gonna be a top level player, and certainly can't lead the line in this team. His pass behind Diaz into an open goal was just shocking, and when we had the ball for long periods, he just offered so little as a target man or even giving the midfield a runner that could create space.
Regarding Nunez - his pass was fine in my opinion. Would have been too close to the keeper perhaps if he tried to hit Diaz. Diaz should have delayed his run a tad.
The boss is still learning the league and team players, but we definitely need another forward cause Nunez is not the man for me, when Macca came on the team were much tighter.
I think the best thing is that we can lose to city and still be 5 points clear. Of course we want to beat them, maybe even should be beating them at the moment, but we lose and still be clear
Nobody is talking about afcon. If Mo signs a 3 year deal like he wants, then 2 out of those 3 seasons means he will be missing halfway through the season 2 out of those 3 seasons. This has to be part of the discussion?
The second goal from the counterattack, I'm not sure why Robbo was trying to cut down the same man he could clearly see Ibou is cutting down instead of anticipating a cut back to the player that's running in behind him 🤦♂️ Robbo isn't mentally there, he can't read the game anymore
Im not sure on the arrogant, but I will say they looked well off-pace and drowsy this game. Lots of the players weren’t making themselves available when we were in possession and the overall awareness was lacking on and off the ball.
Happy to be here unlike TAW who thought the "c**t" word was acceptable post match. Couldn't watch the game cos NowTV has been unable to let people log in to watch what they have paid for on their lap top for days. Fans online and at the game loose out. Thanks for your summary. Appreciated.
The best and the most iconic shirt-off moment was undoubtedly against untied... By the way, make you mind up. HAKpo or GAKpo. We WON, so why the (mainly) negative critique throughout, wether you enjoyed it or not?
Seemed like no one wanted to put a tackle in at points. They ran through us so easy. International break, poor defensive performance and going 2-1 down... We take it.
I don’t take to much away on how the game was played today as it came of the back of international break. I really don’t think Darwin is good enough for us . We need a 9 that can do a number 9’s job .
Robbo was poor Vvd made an error. Consistently Vvd has been fine.... Robbo has been off the standards required.... There can be no full credit givwn to slott because still too few games in the PL played..... Often timing and performance is lacking... But results are happening... But can't yet see a full performance ie. Go 2 up in the first half in a few games a, making moments of dominance count... Too much 'control " as displayed tends to give opposition hope/time that they shouldn't have.....
Lawrence maaaaan, don't get yourself caught up in the fake media narratives. Liverpool did NOT struggle against Southampton today. We were unlucky not to win much more comfortably. We were MILES ahead of them on EVERYTHING Lawrence. Look at it impartially and you'll see how much better Liverpool were. The narrative of this game will no doubt be that "Liverpool escaped that game with three points, that "Southampton were equal to Liverpool," and that Liverpool "weren't good enough and won't get away with performances like that every week." Meanwhile, the stats are about as 1-sided as you'll ever see in a top flight game🤣. We'll deal with facts and enjoy how much we're dominating every week... let the pundits and media cope with the pain by setting their fake narratives🤣🤣🤣 Let's be honest here fellow pool fans, has there been any games this season where you've felt worried about not getting back into it? Any games you've lost faith that we didn't have an extra gear to use towards the end if needed? Even the game we lost and couple we drew, we've been the better team. Every single game we've played, it's LIVERPOOL pushing to win it towards the end. It's LIVERPOOL with the desire to push and win it late. The mark of champions is without doubt, the mentality in the last 10 minutes of games. Champions, no matter the performance for the first 80, will ALWAYS be the stronger side in the last 10 minutes. That never say die, will to push at the end of the game, is the difference between finishing top 4 and winning the title. Think every single PL champ over the last 15 years. The standout trait is that their mentality makes them score more late goals than their rivals.
Maybe not CAM, but i wonder if theres a possibility of utilising him as a joelinton type player. He doesn't necessarily have the qualities of a reliable midfielder but i liken him to Joe in that way. The striker project hasn't worked lol
This is so weird. You go on into Nunez and then say Gakpo played well ? Literally tried cutting in over and over. And while he got off a shot and a few crosses, we were playing against the 20th placed team and he did not look great. I was expecting him to bully his man. Diaz was way better. As for Nunez, we are not even playing to his strength. His strength ? The pass they made to him where he nearly got an assist for Diaz. That was playing to his strength. And even Slot said in the post match interview that they were not attacking the box but passing around too much / keeping control. Feels weird every other video you seem to be pointing out how he is 'not the slot forward' even though we keep winning. And let's not forget Jota was not even playing better when he was not injured. Invisible for large parts of the game. What is a Slot striker supposed to be anyway ? .___. I am not ranting .___.

My favorite Salah t-shirt off is against man united 😂😂😂
Normally Liverpool would drop points after seeing man city do so. Something is very different this season
The boss is still learning the league and team players, but we definitely need another forward cause Nunez is not the man for me, when Macca came on the team were much tighter.
But...but....but....Liverpool have not yet played anyone above them....
Very good!
I think the best thing is that we can lose to city and still be 5 points clear. Of course we want to beat them, maybe even should be beating them at the moment, but we lose and still be clear
It’ll have a huge impact mentally though
Michael oliver will be the var ref
Mo is like a fine wine ( sotty to my Muslim brithers) he just gets better with age
2:44 this is MF Doom
😂
It a game after international football we always play like that
We do, but why?
Those players aren't learning
Can’t wait for the Real Madrid game😭
Nobody is talking about afcon. If Mo signs a 3 year deal like he wants, then 2 out of those 3 seasons means he will be missing halfway through the season 2 out of those 3 seasons. This has to be part of the discussion?
salah top off vs united hands down the best!
I had the same quetion about the quality of picture thats shown. Makes no sense
Lines 👏🤣
Post int break we are always off the pace.
Yes. Investment. 9min 43sec
The best and the most iconic shirt-off moment was undoubtedly against untied...
By the way, make you mind up. HAKpo or GAKpo.
We WON, so why the (mainly) negative critique throughout, wether you enjoyed it or not?
Need a versatile midfield & defensive signing in January #SellChiesa
Every top off is ok 👍 in my opinion
I think we were a bit rusty because of the international break.
Seemed like no one wanted to put a tackle in at points. They ran through us so easy.
International break, poor defensive performance and going 2-1 down... We take it.
Haven't played anyone yet
😂😂😂
I don’t take to much away on how the game was played today as it came of the back of international break. I really don’t think Darwin is good enough for us . We need a 9 that can do a number 9’s job .
He isn’t he’s embarrassing
Mo DIPPER
Never a pen 🤦🏽♂️
Leagues..
Libpool, top of the Leagues
Libpool Libpool, top of the Leagues
We need mane back
no we don't
Fsg is stingy
@Danijzi I don't mean it literally, just mean that I miss having someone else as clinical as Salah in front of goal
@@bradleynair5063 spot on, that i do agree.
The narrative of this game will no doubt be that "Liverpool escaped that game with three points, that "Southampton were equal to Liverpool," and that Liverpool "weren't good enough and won't get away with performances like that every week."
Meanwhile, the stats are about as 1-sided as you'll ever see in a top flight game🤣.
We'll deal with facts and enjoy how much we're dominating every week... let the pundits and media cope with the pain by setting their fake narratives🤣🤣🤣
Let's be honest here fellow pool fans, has there been any games this season where you've felt worried about not getting back into it?
Let’s try NUNEZ at CAM what do yall think?👀
Maybe not CAM, but i wonder if theres a possibility of utilising him as a joelinton type player. He doesn't necessarily have the qualities of a reliable midfielder but i liken him to Joe in that way. The striker project hasn't worked lol
@ I’ve also thought of this scenario. Nunez can be a great pressing midfielder and some of the passes I’ve seen from him have really surprised me
@afgwafayee Agreed
Let's goo
Woww 😍😍
I’m not convinced Salah completely meant to score with that first touch.
Just say her name already 😂
