No they didn't. N*SYNC is awesome but they didn't dominate. Backstreet Boys sold 130 million albums, and were called the best male vocal group by Sir Elton John himself, and are getting a star on the Walk of Fame in 2013, that being said it was the Backstreet Boys who dominated.
BSB were the pioneers for the pop music boy bands that could actually sing. I have to critique this though...this was not their best performance. They also need a smoother approach and I hate when A.J. gets so overtaken with ad libs that the harmonies sound empty. I love BSB and I won't give none of my friends who are NSYNC lovers the satisfaction of hearing me say this but on here lol...Nysnc honestly when it comes to vocals, a lot of times sound better live.
My little sister is 13 years old and SHE thinks *NSYNC's harmonies are better too...no diss to the BB talent, but *NSYNC dominated the millennium AND the entire boy band era elite, if you will...*NSYNC! :) LOL
@75rder Nope, I don't believe that. They are still performing TODAY because they love to perform, and they are good at it. They are not doing it for only money right now. They are pretty much millionaires at this point. So technically, they don't "need" to make more money at this point. And honestly, if you don't like them, why waste your time on watching videos OF THEM singing. And then also waste time in writing responses about them. I'd never visit videos of things I do not like.
20 years and STILL going strong!!!! Haters are gunna hate but honestly no one cares what you're saying cuz BSB WILL ALWAYS have the best fans. KTBSPA!!!!!
I'm a sucker for references so any "This I Promise You" videos will show you the vocal difference especially and my examples of their vocals..."Oh Holy Night" by NSYNC. It's in acapella and it shows their distinctions.
@75rder "Ok" singers would never be the number 1 selling band of ALL TIME in the world. They are extremely talented and have sold over 130 million copies.
all the little girls listening to 1d makes me laugh these guys got it down nsync and boys 2 also dont get me wrong 1d got catchy songs but c'mon no comparison
@akotr3mor To me, it's not about how many hits they had. It's more about over all performance. And BSB factually is the most successful band ever worldwide. That's in many different countries. Bands who are only successful in US aren't as respected as bands who make it huge everywhere, that's a HUGE accomplishment. BSB has sold over 130 million copies worldwide. NO other band is even close to that number. That's incredible. It means their music is so well accepted in all languages! FACT.
@MrBOBBYOO6 I have to side with shackled. How I see it, NSYNC were BSB copycats, but somewhere down the line I started liking their music. Still do, but BSB has it in the bag. 18+ compared to 6+ years of NSYNC. Sorry. :)
Yes, and BB were very talented, but if you ask people who grew up then & now, what song/which boy band was the most popular in terms of crossing over in the millenium era, it would be "Bye, Bye, Bye"/*NSYNC. They made history on their first day selling "No Strings Attached", leaving BB in the dust during that time in musical history...sorry, but when it comes to the widely known music of pop and worldwide popularity, *NSYNC in fact demolished their counterparts then; maybe not so much now..:}
@75rder "130 copies sold" you seriously need to double check your facts, its more like over 130 MILLION copies sold worldwide making them the best-selling boy band of all time. Also, they are the first group since Sade to have their first seven albums reach the top 10. Not to mention they are currently working on yet another album to (hopefully) be released later this year. I highly advise you check your facts before posting stuff about a band you obviously know nothing about.
@il787 a group singing individually is not an indicator of a band's success...for instance...as a collective Boyz II Men is insurmountable as far as harmony, technique, and live performance, but individually they don't sound that good. Sames goes for New Edition, only Gill and Tresvant had any decent success outside of the group, N'Sync, the only real good singer was JC Chasez, but JT took the fame, and now BSB, Nick couldn't hold a note if his life depended on it...
@greenleo111 oh and BTW...you claim no other band has come close to selling 130 million copies worldwide? CORRECTION: The Beatles have sold 1.6 BILLION, Jackson 5 with 110 million and that's during an era of racism, Queen had over 300 million, Pink Floyd and Bee Gees over 200 million, U2, Genesis, and Aerosmith over 150 million, Fleetwood Mac, Metallica and Guns & Roses around 150 million...so your statement is proven false...FACT so yes, SEVERAL bands have come close and beaten them
@greenleo111 i have to disagree that total record sales would equate to greatest of all time, and yes 130 million worldwide is a huge accomplishment but you're talking about a group that did it during the electronic viral era...pre-millenium it was a feat to hit a million because not all record labels have international copyright laws, nor could many afford them...and what language the songs are in are irrelevant...there are Korean artists with fans in Brazil and Saudi Arabia...
@greenleo111 i don't know about that...you're comparing different era's and different genre's...POP genre is relatively new, and if you want to compare record sales which is not a good indicator of success because NSync has sold half the albums as BSB but were more popular in the US whereas BSB had more of an international following. Second, how talented a group is can be determined by the number of #1 hits...BSB had 1...Boyz II Men has 5...i like both so not hating here. just facts
@KAlessa100 N'Sync broke up because they wanted to pursue individual endeavors, such as producing, and choreagraphy....out of all combined members, the only one who could really hold a note was JC Chasez...and what made NKOTBSB big was actually thanks in part to Ne-Yo helping their revival, and then the groups coming together after a long feud...
they dont even exist 20 years they were huge till 2001 and since then they were less popular but they were in the charts 2005 and since 2011 they toured with nkotb and it was one of the most successful tours in america 2011
NSYNC was popular only in USA, BB was a worldwide phenomen & they were the one who started the boysband phenomen, No nsync without BB. BB have 2 albums who sold 20M+ Nsync none their albums are around 10M+-. Like someone mentioned 'I want it that way' have the double of views of "bye bye bye". The only reason Nsync can seem bigger now or people know them outside of the USA is because they had one of the biggest popstar right now Justin Timberlake. So NSYNC didn't leave BB in the dust in history!
@gurlygaily I've heard Take 6...and Boyz II Men > Take 6...not to say they're bad but if you knew anything of acapella singing you'd know it is infinitely more difficult to do a 4 part harmony because every voice stands out, whereas 5+ singers can blend better which makes such tracks as "Thank You", "It's So Hard...", and "Yesterday" something to appreciate. Close and tied for second would be the original Rockapella and the House Jacks...listen to them and tell me Take 6 is the best...
to give them credit it is infinitely difficult to harmonize live and I"m sure their tracks weren't working too well that's why even though I like them as a group, I think they are far from the greatest harmony group of all time...Boyz II Men for instance is the best because they perform a 5 part harmony with just 4 voices....how you ask? Nathan acts as both a baritone and tenor
everyone just enjoy the music and stop trying to argue and put facts into everything, everyone is entitled to their own opinion so stop trying to prove people wrong. Personally BSB is my fav out of all boy band groups and nobody can change my mind about it :) KTBSPA!!!!!!!!!
That might be, but if you look at the video for bye bye bye, it has less vies than BSB's I want it that way, and they were uploaded around the same time. That just comes to show that many people preferred BSB's trademark song to N*sync's bye bye bye, and how that song still remains that popular up to this day. But of course I have to give credit where it's due because N*sync were undoubtedly talented and I like their music very much.
@MRevolution44 of course they're making a tour with new kids on the block NKOTBSB, u know, sadly trashy music are more popular now so BSB doesn't sound much on the radios but they still had fans that love 'em and support 'em since very long time LIKE ME! they had 18 years on music now! ktsbpa!
@ideidara1 The album sales of BSB vs N'SYNC aren't really fair now because N'SYNC broke up about 10 years. BSB currently has sold 130 mil albums. 10 years ago I'd guess they had sold roughly 50-60 million. Not sure about N'SYNC 's stats at the time of their breakup.
@CHOICEJCBB quesiton, if you liked their arrangement how come you didn't comment how Nick ruined it by going flat half the time and wasn't even able to recover his note
True...And like I said below...in their time, *NSYNC definitely pulled their rank and placed themselves in the history books...BSB has had more staying power though...and now even in the US..:}
I grew up back then and love both groups... N*sync are awsome and were probably bigger in the US but in Europe it was the BSB that dominated, for sure.
This is real & pure talent. Hands down to the best boyband🙌🏻🤘🏻
Brian's beautiful voice makes me dream a lot and relax me too much God I love this man!!!!!!!!!!
No they didn't. N*SYNC is awesome but they didn't dominate. Backstreet Boys sold 130 million albums, and were called the best male vocal group by Sir Elton John himself, and are getting a star on the Walk of Fame in 2013, that being said it was the Backstreet Boys who dominated.
ideidara1 one direction is best of bands
@@jessetuominen4941 Hahaha
@@jessetuominen4941 so funny your joke 😂😂
Best boy band in the entire history ! Point blank period
They just like singing a part, not into harmony, they don't have bass voice, kevin just baritone low/deep voice.
Aj always does that little "thank you" at the end of every song i swear
nsync had better harmonies by far, cant top that 5 part
Crazy, this was posted exactly 13 years later.
CaapriceTube I keep finding you
NSYNC are better harmonie wise.
They are perfect
BSB were the pioneers for the pop music boy bands that could actually sing. I have to critique this though...this was not their best performance. They also need a smoother approach and I hate when A.J. gets so overtaken with ad libs that the harmonies sound empty. I love BSB and I won't give none of my friends who are NSYNC lovers the satisfaction of hearing me say this but on here lol...Nysnc honestly when it comes to vocals, a lot of times sound better live.
AJ HAS SUCH A SEXY VOICE
I was one of the original fans when they came out way before they hit it big in America. Switzerland 1995.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME THIS WAS THE EXACT DAY I WAS BORN I WAS OBSESSED WITH THEM AS A LITTLE TODDLER
they deserve to be named as Artists ,compare to most of "artists" from today BSB CAN SING!
My little sister is 13 years old and SHE thinks *NSYNC's harmonies are better too...no diss to the BB talent, but *NSYNC dominated the millennium AND the entire boy band era elite, if you will...*NSYNC! :) LOL

I still love these guys
Nsync only has 2 good singers... BSB have 5 great singers!
/watch?v=Id5iHkob7MI
I love this song.. Backstreet's Back is such an awesome album. Howie looks to tiny and cute here.
This is why they are the best! They can all sing, they already have their own music-Their voices and they have pure talent!! KTBSPA
I'm a sucker for references so any "This I Promise You" videos will show you the vocal difference especially and my examples of their vocals..."Oh Holy Night" by NSYNC. It's in acapella and it shows their distinctions.

I love you BSB that words can't explain ❤❤❤
I was 7 days old in this date ... Just wow ♡♡ love them forever
I wasn't even born
I can't believe this isn't on an album
They are like the White Counterpart to Boyz II Men (which they say in an interview was one of their big influences)
Why I thought Kevin was wearing something on his head. I was like is that NSYNC with a BSB title? NOPE that was the wall behind him.
all the little girls listening to 1d makes me laugh these guys got it down nsync and boys 2 also dont get me wrong 1d got catchy songs but c'mon no comparison

Why is this "best vocal harmony group" hitting flat notes in every one of their chords? This sounds awful.
they dont even exist 20 years they were huge till 2001 and since then they were less popular but they were in the charts 2005 and since 2011 they toured with nkotb and it was one of the most successful tours in america 2011
that's what i'm sayin'... for the harmony, but those 3 couldn't lead a song by themself
while on BSB, all can.....
Lol these comments are tooo funny bsb 24! Baby 🙂
i know right?!They shouldve recorded it!...But who knows, maybe it might be on their new album in 2013!lets cross our fingers.lol.
Nope....Nysnc
@MrBOBBYOO6 But where is NSYNC now? BSB are still together and just performed in 52 cities with New Kids - NKOTBSB Baby!!!
That was not bad, but The Bee Gees was only three and it was much more better...
Love watching these old video's of the group, back when Kevin was still with them. BSB for life
Please change of the name of the channel.
ohhh ya no necesito q me digan ya wiiii ya se como se llama
They were so young! I love these guys and I can't wait for their new album!
@dfectedRO intoarce-te la manele...lasa muzica asta ca nu-i de tn...
Sweet
this is not really that good people....anyone that sings a capella music knows they should be better for professionals
justin james They were young and inexperienced. Now? They sound fantastic.
NSYNC was popular only in USA, BB was a worldwide phenomen & they were the one who started the boysband phenomen, No nsync without BB. No, im from South America, they were huge
the fashion back than... was weird.
they are AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME! , 2011 and i still listening this

@caseyleaf2796 perhaps once the best Korean harmony group but when BSB ruled the roost Tohoshinki were still lil kiddies. Adorable kiddies at that.

BSB ARE THE BEST
wow,13 years to the date, still sound good
You've not heard anything if you haven't heard ' Take 6 '.
The ultimate in Acapella. Second to them would be ' The King's Singers '
Of course, with the exception of Boyz II Men and the likes of them...they're in a time and place in history all their own! ;D
Superb!
Wish they had a bass singer
They do, even if Kevin is a baritone. He can hit really deeps notes (all the way to C#2) In a bass falsetto voice.
@akotr3mor don't remember my orignial comment..help me out?
Oh my gosh.. 90's !!! YES!!!!
The Katinas "One More Time" was even better, though
Look at them and One direction is nothing!!! :))
not the best..best acapella should not have any s
... r u? nsync has a much fuller 5 part harmony
who do you love? i love you guys ..ever since
I grew up back then and love both groups... N*sync are awsome and were probably bigger in the US but in Europe it was the BSB that dominated, for sure.
BSB was way way bigger than NSync in US and all over the world.
boyz ll men is definitely better i think
I love this performance :) BSB are the best!!!!
