Man that depth of knowledge you have for testing bikes. Honestly fe have tried to show/ document this but none succeeded in demonstration. Beautifully explained with lost of patience. Thanks.
Superbly done bhai. Really love this way of testing! You were seriously superb on the throttle as well while doing the testing to get us such point perfect and accurate numbers! Infact on my RE 350 these are the very speeds at which I shift gears. RE is a bit more forgiving though if by chance slip to slightly lower speeds!
Don't lug the engine! That's the point of this video. The lowest speeds your bike can do means the lowest speeds it can PULL from without those angry noises. 🤦
@@RealAutoReviews 😅 I get that and I do try not to. I have a question though : if I am riding on a road which has recurring speed breakers in a stretch, which of the following is better : 1. Keep upshifting in between the breakers (all the way up to 3/4) then downshift when going over the speed breaker (to 1). 2. Try upshifting late to avoid over shifting. 3. Try to half clutch (slip) over the breaker in 2nd. 4. Go crazy and fly off the breakers so fast that both the bike and me break down. I try to avoid the option 4 and end up with a mixture of option 2,3. But I'd like to know what's best.
Sir my friend accidentally lugged my dominar engine a knocking sound came and when the rpm increase the sound gone , he Didn't downshift while slowing the vehicle, so my question is will it damage my engine ? Since for the first time someone lugged my engine twice today
Not at all! Thankfully, the IC engines are not that fragile. It's just that you should avoid doing it. So, fret not, your engine hasn't suffered even 0.1 per cent damage today 😃
Nice video but why didn't you include 5th gear ? Hondas are known to have poor low end torque regardless of the bike category. My CBR250R lugs below 75 kmph on 6th gear. For CB350, I'm sure it will lug below 65 kmph on 5th gear. The best low end torque bikes around this budget is the FZ25 and all 350s from RE. They can do less than 50kmph on top gear without breaking a sweat.
I didn't because back then I just made it on the go thinking that this subject would hardly find any viewers. Not much later I saw that people really do want to know about it :) So now I have started including the top gear as well. And you are right about the CB's 5th gear. It does lug below 60 km/h, which is absolutely okay because, contrary to what everyone believes, although it's pegged against the RE, the intent and feel is more towards how an RX-100 would feel if it were to be made today in a four-stroke guise 😃 And, yes, I absolutely love the FZ-250. You may want to read my text review of it on Bikeadvice. Wrote that one in 2017 😃
Honda CB 350 has very high low end torque, 30Nm @ 3000 rpm, it is just the tall gearing that doesn't allow 5th gear to go smoothly below 65kph but why do we need to ride it in 5th at that speed? Just take it in 4th, this bike is built like that. It is its character

Absolutely! Guys if u don't like constantly downshifting gears in hilly or in traffic, then go for re 350
