The HK is an indoor speaker, the X20 is made & performs best for outdoor use. To my ears, it really does sound that much better outdoors.

I missed that $128 deal on the Go+Play 3. At that price it’s UNEQUIVOCALLY a steal. Actually getting it for anywhere under $200 is a steal. A week after the sale ended I went on eBay and the G+P3 had flooded the site. I guess resellers had a field day partaking in the $128 lol. Long story short I was able to cop on eBay for $160, and boy am I NOT disappointed. This speaker is dope. The sound is balanced, rich, and the bass satisfies. I even like the Go+Play 3 aesthetically, despite some insecure folks saying it looks like a purse. It may not get as loud and as deep as let’s say the Tribit StormBox Blast, but the overall sound is better. Big drawback of this G+P3 is its lack of versatility. Basically you can’t take it out the house. But that’s what my StormBox Blast is for so no harm no foul ☺️

At half the weight and size, the HK Go Play puts up a respectable performance! Both sound amazing through my $400 JBL Boombox 3

I have an X20 as well. I listen to mostly classic rock & 90S grunge. These are my settings used mainly for outdoor use.
4 4 0 0 -1 -1 -1 -1 -2 -2. I hope this helps.

I mainly use this speaker outdoors because it performs & sounds better outdoors.
less clarity and more muffled sound from the X20 at the 70% sound bump potion of the video (just as I would expect)

I haven't directly compared the 2 yet, but I do know the resolution and balance in the Hk is just more refined for all genres. the W-King sounds nice but I have to switch up the eq a lot so far. Bass Boost does have a higher limit in bass if you use a eq along with it bit the treble extention goes down quite a bit but with nass Boost off its vice versa but it can get sharp. Still figuring out the W-King as my new one will be here on the 28th but the Go plus play 3 still is the best soundings overall speaker I own especially in tws,I'll be able to test TWS for the X20 as well👍
Agreed, I like the highs a little more with bass boost off with the wking then eq the bass way up to get similar effects of having bass boost on but maintain the sparkle, it's a little harder to get just right and I'll prob continue to switch it up a bit ha ha
No, Go+play3 holds the title of greatest speaker of 2023, followed by Boombox 3 WiFi, then the Encore
@FORZANDE9910 ehh Boombox 3 wifi has a terrible app that is extremely unreliable, and the Encore battery is terrible, so there are good sounding speakers but not the overall best
@TheAscendedTechNinja very true, I heard the jbl boombox wifi edition ppl have problems when just trying to play bluetooth through them, and ya encore battery is not great, they should have put a much bigger battery in the go plus play 3 as well

no doubt, x20 win in this comparison. especially the bass is exceptional. hk go plus is great has deep bass too and good mids. but you know x20 is better.. up next wking x20 vs wking t9 pro. 😁

Nope is not a million times better. But in power yes abit better. But not in sound quality. G+play3 still the greatest speaker of 2024

And ya I love the loudness and bass of the wking 100 percent, I love the harmon if I'm just using a moderate volume to listen to music in the background but I usually end up using one of the big boy speakers most the time because I love listening to stuff loud and proud!!! But if you can't turn it up very loud because of neighbors or something then the harmon might be good for a moderate to quiet listening experience
Doesn’t the H&K need a hard surface to enhance the bass… since the bass woofer is firing downward? The H&K unlike normal JBL speakers , doesn’t lose bass at max level!
@lymedog3176 yeah it works better on a hard surface like I have it on, but still sounds amazing no matter where you place it
@@Jagistreviews thanks jag…but I’m still looking at a good sale on the x20 W-K … I’ve watched all of your, “Jays Straight Up reviews” and Alan Ross’s on the x 20… that’s my next choice…or I’ll get another Stormbox blast… maybe the new version…. I don’t need the go play 3… I have a soundcore boom with Alan Ross’s settings and it’s a great in house speaker…. X20 will be my outside speaker…..I really hope you three keep up the reviews…I trust your judgments…. I do like to watch Flossy too… he’s a fun watch…with “white shoes”…he likes bass heavy speakers like me..lol..if you get the new stombox blast… please do a video comparing the x20 with it…it may sway my decision!

Ya that's kinda their thing ha ha most of their speakers look like lady handbags, the onyx studio 5 and 6 were the worst but sounded amazing ha ha

The harmon is one of my most favorites, the bass and sound are just amazing and clean
6:15 that bass drop, tho! I own an Onyx Studio Gen 1 and it also surprises with the deep bass. Go+Play almost matches my incredible JBL Encores!
Truly they go amazingly deep for their size, my onyx studio 6 was insane with the bass for its size

Great comparison. HK go play 3 or w king x20 or Anker boom 2 plus or Tribit strombox Blast.
Currently using JBL 110 but it's overpowered bass despite lowering the bass from eq still its giving headache.
Had tribit strombox Blast before but it's wasn't giving headache.
Mainly for watching movies Tv. Well balanced speaker with great clarity in mids high and vocal with right amount of Bass.

Honestly the harmon kardon go plus play 3 is one of the best sounding speakers and you can adjust the bass a lot better, but if you want something as loud as the partybox 110 but want to really have control over your bass, the x20 is awesome, it's heavy af though,
They both cut at 35hz, wking has a HUGE peak from 40-80hz which adds a lot to its low end presence, and wking has TONS more power to work with, but isnt nearly as linear. Ive got both, prefer the harman if ive got power, but the wking is the outdoor movie night champ.

i think the x20 had a little more bass but the play plus still has some nice bass they both sound very good
I agree, the go play has a crazy amount of bass for the size it's very impressive bit the wking does have more bass and more thunderous effect because of the larger more powerful drivers

That would be interesting for sure although the d9-1 is way way smaller, I may end up starting doing three way battles in general pretty soon, they might get some good likes

@alexlittig7927 I think a three way battle between some of the new speakers is a great idea though, I've been debating it for a while now, I wish you could blutooth connect to 3 speakers at the same time but you can only do it with 2 at the time being

Right now the harmon kardon is 350$ but sometimes goes on sale, and the wking x20 is on sale for 250$ so a good deal less
