- A driver was arrested after Surprise police say a road rage incident was caught on camera. 40-year-old Charles Bass was taken into custody after pointing a gun twice at a teen driver earlier this month.
On December 5, 19-year-old Shi ’Anna Bamba was driving near Litchfield and Cactus roads in Surprise. After dropping off her siblings at school, Bamba said she tried to change lanes. Court documents said Bamba cut off a truck, but she told ABC15 that's not what happened.

I'm a veteran and while I understand PTSD is a real thing and I understand how it can be triggered, I know there are probably some people who just use it as an excuse when they get caught doing stupid shlt. None of us can know for sure if he even has PTSD or if that really was a factor, but this guy definitely has some anger issues to work on and I feel bad for the trauma the girl had to endure; that memory will stay with her forever and have some deep psychological impact on her. That being said, I don't like to judge people based entirely on one stupid thing they did. In this case, pull out a gun and threaten someone over something as stupid as cutting you off in traffic. Now, I'm not saying this guy shouldn't be punished; he should spend some time in jail and attend mandatory anger management classes, but since I am a Vet, I have a pretty good idea of what's going to happen to him... He's probably going to get a BCD for this (Bad Conduct Discharge) and that will impact the rest of his life. The military doesn't mess around with stuff like this. A dishonorable discharge is about the worst thing you can do to someone in the military. But all these road rage videos make me want to park my car in the driveway and start walking to more places.
Thank you for your actual service. This guy sits behind a desk and has a super long beard to be a serviceman. Clearly “out of uniform “
I'm retired Army and I have my issues with PTSD and all but I don't resort to rage to solve anything. I know what my triggers are and aggressive drivers isn't one of them. If his PTSD is such that he is prone to these highly emotional outburst of anger and rage he shouldn't be in a leadership position of any type. I've been retired for 20 years but the way todays military operates he'll probably be allowed to retire if he has the time in and they will let him be dealt with by the civilian courts. In years past I do agree with you the Military justice system was much harsher and punishment was more punitive.
Well said, Thank you!
I'm actually shocked that people are making comments about the men and women in the Air Force.
Not all Air Force members are sitting behind desks. I was assigned to an A-10 unit and worked closely with the Army. Those guy were so grateful during our deployments to call in air strikes as well as other support during our missions.
Road rage comes from perceived threat to your authority, its an ego-driven reaction, stemming from internal insecurities.
