Mother Shirley Miller is an icon. She has brought so many happy days to so many people. And she has said so many people including the lgbtq community free. I am so honored and blessed to be a refugee and to be able to call her the mother of my church family.

Thank you so much to Mr. Edwin Hawkins, to you Ms. Shirley Miller and the Edwin Hawkins singers for giving us such a soulful anthem that is truly loved by generations of families! I remember as children me and my brothers were sitting in the backseat of our parents car when “Oh Happy Day” first came on the a.m. radio WVON in Chicago in the 60s we were small children it was the jam then it’s still a jam now now it’s not only a jam but it’s a GEM, something we still cherish. I still listen to it, it is one of the first things I ever put on my iPod 20 years ago I have so many renditions of it. I love you, I love the Hawkins family!!!! Thank you so much for the music I love I love I love music!!!

Sister Shirley Miller, Yeshua, and YOU made this beautiful song. So many others have tried to compare, but this song was written for you to perform. I was a little German girl when this song came out, and now, in my 60s, I am still moved by it. I have always felt that we are all children of Adam, and though we may look different, all of our blood runs red. Thank you for making a difference all these years. When I see you in heaven, we will dance together on the streets of gold! You are loved! ❤❤❤

Shirley Miller is a staple the in the "Classic Hawkins Songbook" and has certainly contributed to the success of the Hawkins brand with her rich alto voice. My favorite of her lead songs is "Try Christ". It's 2022 according to this video and I'd be blind to say that I don't notice that she dressed much more masculine than her past of beautifully fluffed and bouncing hair and very feminine clothing that she has worn through earlier years when singing with the family. Whatever her choices and expression at this point in her life... GOD'S GOT HER AND LOVES HER.

@VideofyAudiofy l don't think it is hatred of Shirley or LGBTQ+. It is a condemnation of what God condemns in Romans 1:26-28. I am *TOTALLY* against gay-bashing, and that all people, male or female, gay or straight, Black or White or any ethnicity or church affiliation, are to hear God's call for salvation (Matthew 11:28-30).
