Great hunt 🎉 Yes that is a black beauty very nice. Don't forget to look at your 1939's for the Henning nickels. 1964 proof is very awesome too. That was fun
Just a heads up on the 1990 Canadian nickel. I checked but you should look for a bare belly beaver. Sometimes the fur is missing on the belly of the beaver. They are worth about $40.
I did a 2 box hunt today and strangely enough I got 2 1939-S’s in the same box….I also found a 1926 and a 1927-P Buffalo nickel, and 3 2024 nickels, which made me happy…also found a nickel that was stuck with an off center die that was pretty interesting
Also You usually have to hunt tons of boxes to find a v nickel and i found 3 v nickel’s the oldest is 1888 trashed ( applied niki date three times) that 1964 is definitely a proof because it has FS and its reflective!❤
Be careful with a "black beauty" coin. It is caused by introduction of excess oxygen to the planchets during the annealing process. When this happens the mint is supposed to condemn the planchets or refuse to accept them from the planchet manufacturer. For some reason, in 1958 and 1959 some planchet sheets made it into the minting process. The problem for collectors is that the annealing process is easy to replicate by anybody with just rudimentary heat treating knowledge. I worked at a company who made products that required annealing. I also used to make forged knives in my shop and annealing was part of the process. I've used annealing to produce a blackened finish on some of my knives. It's too easy to get fooled by a fake black beauty. The only black beauty nickels that I would even consider purchasing would be those in an original bank roll. That way, you could sent them to NGC in the roll and ask them to be the ones to unroll them and then grade and encapsulate them. If you just send a BU black beauty you found in a random bank box for grading and encapsulation, they are going to reject it as "Ungradable - Damaged". I hope this helps.
Finding any silver is good. That '38 is a beauty, too. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome nickel hunt congratulations on finding 3 silver war nickels and 2 proof nickels and other finds thanks for sharing diggin Dave
Very nice 1938. I found a well-worn 1976-D Bicentennial quarter today that I think is a DDO FS-102.
Great hunt 👍👍❤️
Question: why save 1950’s nickels? Low mintage?

I haven’t seen you hunt nickels in a while
If it has full steps, then the 1964 nickel would most likely be a proof as it has a mirrored finish...it would be worth flipping up!
