    There was a case and David Brown dealership in Woodstock on Springbank Ave in the late 50s 60s and early seventies where Woodstock print and litho is now the fellow that owns and runs that business was the grandson of the case and David Brown dealership Ludington was the last name it was called Ludington garage. I’m from Wisconsin. We had a 930 Case CK, diesel,don’t have it anymore, was brand new because I got to drive it home from the dealership. Was kept in a cold shed over winter. We also had a block heater for that reason. Was mostly used on the semi mounted plow, 5/20 inch bottoms. It did have factory cab on it also. That was one awesome tractor to drive for field work.

  • @kennethstanton5407
    @kennethstanton5407 2 роки тому +3

    Looks great! Ours was a 1968 version with cab. As I recall the steering column and throttle were sunset red or whatever they call the color used on the engine. Was the paint scheme different on the open station models? Just curious about this one odd detail. The one in the video has the curved clutch pedal. Ours had a long straight arm that required help from a friend to depress. It was so heavy we eventually wore out the support for the seat to the point that it would move back about an inch every time you pushed the clutch. Take your leg off on tasks like running a snowblower lol.

    • @williamchambers7235
      @williamchambers7235  2 роки тому

      Hey Ken I’m not sure about the paint scheme cause this is the first one I’ve ever seen or worked on. I think there was a difference between the row crop and the wheat land model. Thanks for watching.

    • @kennethstanton5407
      @kennethstanton5407 2 роки тому +2

      @@williamchambers7235 Not many Wheatland/standard models around our area. I seem to recall the wheatland models had no pto and a chain final drive. There were lots of 1030s and 930s sold in our area. We also had a 1965 830 standard model, which was a great machine. Once we got into the 70 series Case tractors, machines got much bigger very quickly and the 930 wasn't used much. Being so painfully slow on the road also didn't help. Happy to see yours in such great running shape.

      @@williamchambers7235 we had a few of these. 3 930s and 1 1030. My grandpa loved to drive these.. the more they bellarded the more he loved them. He'd boil the water right out of them. 1030 we used to break up the manure pit. Run her all night. Well in the morning my uncle could see a glow, the exhaust was red hot and there was a flame coming out of the pipe. He had my cousin ease it down in like 10 minutes. Never had a problem....

    Had same tractor with the cast iron standard front axle really sturdy solid machine, surprisingly good torque from that big straight 4 cylinder low rev motor, good workers but yes plugging them in was so much better for starting, recall grunting up hill with heavy clay almost gumbo and those old buggers had some good weight and low end long legged power that u often made the hill with out shifting down ,anyway good job with rebuild and a strong old work horse if u sell to new guy,thanks

      4 cylinder? That was the 730 & 830. The 930 & 1030 were 6 cylinder. We had both a 730 & 930. I loved that 930. There were tractors with much more power, but none with more heart. That thing would lug like I've never seen before or since.

    Gotta say that’s an awesome awesome tractor I was raised on a 1969 830 comfort King with Case O matic she was a sharp one like yours just a little under 70 hp I think one thing I wanted to make mention yours is color correct I believe the 930s and the 1030s had the yellow steering column like the gas tank and hood desert tan I think they called it but the 830 is on down as I remember them even though people do not restore them like that had an orange cast steering column like the engine and transmission
