Thanks for this - I have an S5 on order and was already eyeing the VPS res delete. I'll definitely spent a few bucks more and get 2 factory clamps to use instead.
Sure thing! Yeah definitely recommend getting a set of factory clamps. I’d also say order the kit well in advance, depending on how far out your S5 is. It takes a while to get it - I waited around 6 weeks if I remember correctly.
Hey man. I was about to order the VPS kit for my new 2023 S5 Sportback. Thanks for the heads up on the potential issue. Maybe I’ll wait until the New York winter is over before I go this route.
Hey there. I would still recommend the kit. I’m sure you can get by with the provided clamps if you want to install immediately or just order a set of factory ones. I’m not sure how widespread this issue is honestly and it could’ve just been installation error on my part.
@@AutoAndrewhey I ended up getting the kit and bought two oem clamps. Finally put it on today, and the drive home I was smiling the whole time lol. Personally I notice a night and day difference. Definitely should have come like this from the factory and it’s not insanely loud and obnoxious.
Thanks! Pretty sure this is the direct link from Audi for the factory clamps. This is for the coupe but you can change the desired application to the Sportback if needed. parts.audiusa.com/p/Audi_2018_S5-Prestige-Coupe-30L-V6-AT/Clamp-Muffler-Pipe/64721396/8W0253141C.html
Would you say that when downshifting in S the burbles/pops are louder with the res delete? I currently have OEM sport resonator Audi offers but I want something a little louder.
I haven’t noticed this issue from reving in Park. But when my car is cold in the morning, it would crate a huge shaking sound when I press the gas to 1k5-2k RPM range on road with low speed. I think it might be the clamps too, any thoughts? Thank you!
A shaking sound? It very well could be the clamps but the noise I was experiencing was more of a rattle. If it’s more severe than a rattle I’d check the alignment on the pipes themselves to make sure they are seated correctly.
Great sound btw. I'm planning to do the same setup for my S5. Maybe a centre or rear muffler delete as well if the sound is to quiet for me! We will see. Update: i have removed the two small resonators but the sound is too raspy. Hope i can fix that into a deeper tone.
Hey my brand new clamps are vibrating on low rpms in any drive mode. Hasnt been installed for more then a few weeks. You certain new clamps will fix this sound?
It could be an install error. I’d recommend double checking that everything is tightened down and aligned correctly, if possible. It seems like it’s too early for the clamps to have rusted out.
@@AutoAndrew went back to the garage already and they retightened and checked but this setup continues to vibrate mostly when exhaust is cold it mostly goes away when it warms up.
Interesting. The only other solution I’d try (without buying another set or factory clamps) is to get the car on a lift and have the garage see how the clamps vibrate on cold start. I had to do something similar with mine, the guys at the garage had me rev the car while they adjusted and tightened the clamps in real-time.

Do you happen to have a part number?
Great video. What kind of wheels do you have?
Thanks! VMR V802’s

Thanks for sharing with us! Just ordered the VPS resonate delete. However, would you mind post a link for factory clamps to purchase?

The factory clamps cost as much as the VPS kit lol jesus christ

Yes definitely. Not sure on the volume level of the Audi sport resonator but I’m pretty sure it would be quieter than the VPS kit.
@@AutoAndrew I think so, you can see a cold start on my UA-cam channel for comparison. It’s loud until it warms up.

Howd you fix this? Same issue when exhaust is cold. Driving me nuts
FIX: EXHAUST HANGER TOUCHES THE CHASSIS. I SHOVED EXHAUST TAPE IN BETWEEN AND PROBLEM SOLVED
Other question? Where did you get your paddle shifters?
Amazon!

@@AutoAndrew thank you
how many clamps are needed for install?
If I remember correctly, it’s just the two supplied clamps that come with the kit
